    It is a very cheap and simple charger, it does not indicate charge or discharge amps, nor does it really modify the float voltage.

    I have just installed a solar system with CM3024Z charge controller and a new 12 Volt battery. It was working well in a week and the battery was boiling during the day, but suddenly its battery acid became less. Then when I added acid to it, the battery doesn't have heat and doesn't boil. The voltage in charge controller shows 12.0 now. However it was showing more than 15 and 16 volts before adding the battery acid. How to solve this issue?
    Thanks

      @viocaia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a problem with your charger..it should stop at max 14.4V ! This model I recall have no settings for voltages so it should stop when the battery is charged.That's why your battery was ''boiling''..the voltage and the current was still running high even after 14.4V.This model, at least the look of this model is copied in so many variants...You should look for another, even a proper MPPT, much secure though ..

    • @viocaia
      @viocaia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check if you a have menu like PV OFF..that should be at what voltage disconect the panel from charging..that should be from13.7 to 14.4..see if you can adjust that voltage...

    I recently switched to this controller in my van. With the old one, the lights were working perfectly fine, but now with this controller, they sometimes work and sometimes not. I had the impression that the controller has a timer integrated? Is that possible, or what could it else be? On one of the manuals online I saw a little watch in the display but no further explanation. Thank you for helping!

    • @viocaia
      @viocaia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes there is a kind of timer only for the output (right last 2 connectors) you can set how long the lights are on, or dusk til down, or 24h means open all the time..but there is no dedicated timer in the real way,. with a watch and fixed hours for on/off...

    QUESTION, Hi, I have the same charge controller connected to a 12 v battery on a 12 v / 150 watt solar panel, I am using this setup for lights at night, I am using 3 lights, each light is 5 watt/12 v, i am connecting the lights directly to the battery because the charge controller keeps telling me that it is overloaded even if I haven't connected anything on the load from the solar charger, can anyone tell me if I am doing anything wrong? I am using the lights for our garden and wanted to set it up trough the controller in order to light it up automatically at night. This overload display goes away when the sun starts shining, as soon as the sun goes down shows overload on the screen, at this point the battery is fully charged and shows 13 v, no load on the battery nor on the controller but the screen shows overload, thanks in advanced for your reaction.

    • @viocaia
      @viocaia  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very strange. It shouldn't be a hard task to drive 15W..but this chargers are so ''exotic'' at least the the one I tested it was handling around 10w of LED strips easily.I remeber the voltage on the display it was like .5 out my voltmeter said.If you have the skills, open it up and check for bad solder.Also, change the Mosfet transistor related to output with a marked one.Mine's been no marked at all!

    Dear can we use 30 Ampere Controller on 5 Solar panel 150 watt ??

    • @viocaia
      @viocaia  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm afraid you need a stronger one! You have 750W, this will deliver around 60Ah at 12V full power...but if you'll have a 24V battery pack..it's working, at limit but plausible.Also for a 24V setup will need an extra or use 4 panels, 2 in series and eventually parallel, so it's kind of multiply of 2

    Can we charge battery with dc motar by use it...?

    • @viocaia
      @viocaia  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think so.If you consider a wind turbine with a DC motor is much more eratic, you need to keep the voltage in between 15-20v (for a 12v battery) that's almost impossible, also you need a shunt connected to the motor for keeping the speed in certain limits when to much wind or finished charge.But there are some dedicated chargers for that.Just google it.

    • @viocaia
      @viocaia  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      As long as the voltage from the dinamo is in a certain limits , like a solar panel , 15-20v it could work, but I doubt it.Better search for a dedicated wind charger.Plenty of those all around big sellers..

    • @viocaia
      @viocaia  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      sorry I didn't saw the question! I'm sure you found the answer, but I'm still saying yes, you can use a DC motor like a generator, but it needs to fit the right voltage and amps for your batteries.

      Almost at the limit, but it should work.BTW 450W offer full power in ideal conditions, in fact you'll have around20-max 25Ah , so you may used it.Also consider working on 24V bateries, that's put the current half..

    how meny dc lod run this charge controler

    • @viocaia
      @viocaia  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The direct DC load (out from charger) it's only for small loads, max 10Amps, take it like small LED lights, a laptop, stuffs like this.
      If you want to use an inverter, the load should be connected directly to the battery.The PWM charger is checking for voltage and current drop and compensate right away.
      You may see in the video, my 600w/220v inverter is connected straight to the battery poles.

      For a small solar setup, like I have I didn't see any difference in having or not the Amps out indicator.I know as well that my panels can't give more that a certain amps so let's say if you have 150w panel, in full sunny day gives you around 7.5 AH, that's perfect for a 75Ah battery.
