So proud to be one of her grand children! I can confirm that Charlene, or as we call her "Honi", is just as charismatic in real life as she is in this video! Love visiting her in this tiny home, very nice. :)

Everytime we sit and talk at least one neighbor walks by and says hello. And it's not unusual for a neighbor's dog to come up on the porch for a treat. And "Oh my gosh!" she's just the best sister in the whole wide world! 😊

Best tiny home for older people I've ever seen. Like you, I don't want to climb stairs. Nor do I want a loft room where I can't stand up. This house is beautiful. And your decorating is absolutely perfect for Texas. Well done!
I love her unit. We need more communities like these. Seniors want low maintenance, great neighbors and a community feel. Going small does not need to mean dumpy. I'd much rather have a smaller place that's decorated nicely than a huge place with nothing in it.
There are no "aging in place" features, so I'm not sure what that does for many seniors (e.g. space to turn around with a walker when you're in the kitchen, bathroom, or beside the bed). Also, the associated costs (e.g. site rent and utilities with no solar offset) are ever-escalating. How does that work on a tight budget? There are much more cost effective, small, and senior-friendly homes than mobiles like these, and with better loan rates.

I've looked at a lot of Tiny homes and this one is my favorite! It doesnt even feel like a tiny home because she used all regular sized furniture. I love it! Great job!
One of the best, most thorough, descriptions I've ever heard of everything in her home, and why she chose what she did! VERY well thought out. You can tell she is a great teacher. What a charming little carefree home and life she has designed! No wonder the neighbors are always over there.
This has to be one of the best if not THE best tiny home I've seen looking at them for 4+ years. Everything is so well thought out and the space looks HUGE. Drooling over that porch...wow. I use my instant pot and air fryer almost 24/7 now and keep asking myself why I even have an oven myself. The only thing I didn't really like was that sofa when I first saw it in the video and said to myself, I'd go smaller. LOL Well done Charlene...well done. It's gorgeous.
I love Charlene's home and everything she made custom. I also really like the pride and happiness you hear in her voice as she gave her home tour. This video made me smile of her enthusiasm for living tiny.
At a leisurely minimum... she should be a buyer's rep, because she's already living in what we want... and nobody would ever dare to try to put something cheap past her.. she would stop it! What is love?
I don't know how I missed this one a couple of years ago. I'm glad it showed up on my home page because it's my favorite tiny house and probably my favorite tiny house dweller. She's awesome!
I always thought I'd like to have a loft model, until I saw this one. This is perfect for my needs. Even after retiring, this teacher is still teaching all of us how to have the perfect life and retire in style. Thank you!
The absolute best "tiny" I've viewed. The style is perfect and unique in features like the outdoor fireplace, 13.5' ceilings and larger kitchen -- sooo nice. As I give greater thought to what my tiny will look like, your home certainly presented elements to be added to my check list. Simply beautiful; and thanks for sharing some valuable tips as well. Your energy and warm personality are refreshing. Keep enjoying your life by design 🙂.
I agree with you, this is the first tiny home that I’ve ever seen that actually feels like a “regular”home! Most of the time, it seems that they all have a loft which I definitely wouldn’t want & then the rest of the home feels more like a camper or mobile home, especially the bathrooms in them! I dunno…I just loved everything about this one with ALL of the upgrades that she did! I could easily live in this charming little home with nice neighbors!!!
@@AnitasLoveify You are probably confusing tiny homes ON WHEELS with this home. If a tiny home is to be towed (moved) often for travel, then road laws require it to be no more than 8.5 feet wide. Wider than 8 feet 6 inches and you must have a permit and special towing. So if you have looked at a lot of tiny houses ON WHEELS they will always be only 8.5 feet wide, which is fairly restricting to room size. Also the video is using a distortion camera to film this. The same kind of camera they use for real Estate photos. You will notice how large the front windows look in the first second of the video 0:01 especially the window closest to the camera. Now look at the front windows at 0:11 second mark (click the number to take you to that time) the windows look much narrower when photographed with the hovering drone camera. No distortion. The windows are likely 29 or 30 inches wide each, making those 3 front windows only 8 or 9 feet and you can tell that too, at 12:09 when you can see the 2 seater couch (which is likely 6 or 7 feet long) is almost the length of the window width. In 'real life' this house WILL look smaller. One more distortion and I will get to my point in all this. The closer a thing is to the camera the larger (more distorted) it will be. Look at the television at 12:02 and then look at the television at 11:21. Good examples of the 'distortion' camera. ---- I told you all that just to tell you THIS. If you are looking for something compact, but not as cramped as a Tiny House On Wheels (THOW) look online for 'Park Models'. Which is basically what this woman has. You will find a ZILLION companies across the U.S. (I hope you are in the U.S.) that want to sell you a Park Model and you could spend the next two days solid looking at Park Model floor plans (and I LOVE looking at floor plans) and a Park Model could be the small, but not TOO small that you are looking for. --- May I suggest one more thing. I don't know where you live (I live in Florida) but there is a tiny house company in Fresno California that builds _some_ of their Tiny Houses at 10 feet wide, for people who won't be moving their houses much. It's called California Tiny House. Look them up, and go to their instagram page. You will SEE what a difference that extra foot and a half makes to the size of the rooms. On their instagram page click on a picture, it will tell you exactly how long and how wide the house is, then scroll right to see multiple pictures of that model. Also search 'California Tiny House youtube' to find their youtube channel and they have videos of the interiors, and again, they tell you the length and the width in the description. You can really see the difference in the 10 foot wide ones. ---- I hope this helps. :o)
Aloha and thank you so much Charlene for sharing your beautiful tiny home. You did such a great job explaining all the important factors on your decisions and covering all the W's, which makes total sense! Your such a wonderful sweet person and congratulations on your retirement! I myself have been watching a lot of videos and want to purchase and live in a tiny home community and would have no problems since I live in a small 1 bedroom condo 453 sq. ft. net living space on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. We have a couple of dear friends that are in retirement here and in Colorado that want to retire and find a tiny home community and get a home to accommodate us either living in Texas or Florida. Would love to stay in touch with you if you don't mine because your taste in your home furnishings and color palette are so similar to our style here in Hawaii with the greenery and outdoor living. I did see that Platinum Cottages is the manufacturer and that your model is called the Waterloo. Much Mahalo - KimBer
Finally! A tidy tiny home. This is the best tiny home tour of a home that is actually being lived in because she has spent time down sizing to only the essentials so that the home is not a cluttered hot mess.
This is the loveliest tiny home I've seen yet; everything about it is well-designed and beautifully finished. Her perspective on living is great as well! 👍
One of the nicest and CLEANEST tiny home I ever seen and Ms. Charlene did an awesome job hosting and explaining every detail about her tiny home. I'd want someone like her to design all my future tiny homes!
I am in love with this home!!!!!! And the way she explains everything makes me believe she was an AMAZING teacher! Such enthusiasm, passion, and sweetness about her! ❤
I moved to Austin because I loved the tiny house community in hopes of getting a tiny home next year. I drove through the community in July and I was amazed at your tiny home, it’s beautiful from the outside. Now I get to see the inside. Thank you.
What do s this community? I e moved to Austin in July and have been looking for a community. Only one Je keeps popping up, but i don’t think it’s th same one. Please share the name
She is so real and enthusiastic. She was teaching her audience all about the 4 Ws, her customization, and dug into her 4Ws and shared them. I love the idea of the front porch being open to spontaneous guests and the side porch was for her quiet time. I am like that as well. I enjoyed hearing about the community, how they cooperate, socialize and aid one another. So informative.
My condolences to Charlene. Losing a loving parent can be so difficult. I'm glad she followed her father's urging to enjoy the rest of her life. I loved the way she decimated all the pertinent information regarding owning and building a Tiny Home. It makes so much sense that she is a teacher. I really enjoyed this episode.
I don't think she decimated it, at all. I found her to be articulate and well-reasoned in both her approach to tiny home living and in her house design.
Being a teacher all her life, she is a seasoned presenter and speaker who gives a connected and personalized experience to each viewer. Brilliantly done and marvelous house! Being on one level, makes it possible for her to live here as long as she likes, as she does not have to cope with stairs

PERFECT!!! THE BEST TINY HOME DESIGN I’VE SEEN IN THE TOTAL 4 yrs of watching tiny hms again, & again - all over the world. The absolute best one agronomically- friendly designed! THX U lady. That outdoor fire-pit area is exemplary to me why someone elected to be an Architect. What a smart & beautiful design. And yes, the lady was a wonderful host as well. She got to the pt & throughly explained as I would expect a seasoned Educator would do.
That tiny house is beautifully designed! It’s also like the Tardis - it’s MUCH larger on the inside than it appears from the outside! What a delightful lady!
Her tiny home is beautiful and let’s talk about the deck, absolutely amazing. I would be sitting on that deck allllll the time. She has done a great job with her home.....
I have looked at the small homes for the last two years, and none of them met all of my specifications. I didn’t want a loft and I didn’t want stairs. And all of them had really small almost nonexistent, living room. This is absolutely gorgeous. I could just walk into that now and say Yep this is what I want. It’s the first small home I’ve ever seen that is gorgeous and has everything set up the way I would want it. Nice size bedroom, a good size living room, that beautiful galley kitchen, and the deck! I’m glad you’re so enjoying your tiny home! Enjoy!
She reminds me of my grandma, she passed away this year at only 65 and I really still can't believe she's gone. She always lived in really nice mobile homes growing up and she had nearly identical decor as this sweet lady :)

Just perfect! I love everything about your tiny home!💖 I am not a loft lover either, what a difference the high ceilings make, it’s hard to believe it’s under 400 sq ft. You did a wonderful job presenting your home, thank you for sharing.
This is honestly the best tiny house I’ve seen! My favorite part is having everything on one floor. As a senior citizen , climbing stairs is much too challenging. Love love love the outside living it affords- a place I would spend the majority of my waking hours.
This lovely lady is such a gracious hostess. She has a beautiful home and a great community of neighbors. I chuckled when she mentioned that she liked to entertain and then talked about her potluck setup. When I lived in Dallas years ago (I'm 65 now) I gained 25 pounds from all the potluck dinners, church suppers, Fiestas, and pool parties that frequently occurred.🙂 I live in the Missouri Ozarks now. But I fondly remember my years in Texas and all the good times and food I shared with friends. Thank you for sharing your home with us on utube. God Bless you.🎉
I love, love LOVE your home, Charlene! This is the first tiny house I've seen that doesn't feel tiny at all. I love that it's all on one level, the outdoor living space is terrific, and the entire home feels airy and spacious while also feeling so cozy and homey at the same time. Great job!!

One of the best, most thorough, descriptions I've ever heard of everything in her home, and why she chose what she did! VERY well thought out. You can tell she is a great teacher. What a charming little carefree home and life she has designed! No wonder the neighbors are always over there.
A teacher indeed. Very valuable information. I soaked it all in.
Wow. Fantastic home and explanation.
This is the first tiny house I’ve seen that I’d actually want to live in. Love that it’s all one story.
Charlene is a natural in front of the camera. Her tiny home is beautiful. I love the outdoor living space .
That outside space is just "WOW!" I don't know why more tiny homes don't add wrap-around porches like hers.
You, Young Lady, should be on a tiny home manufacturer's staff, DESIGNING tiny homes!
Agree!
At a leisurely minimum... she should be a buyer's rep, because she's already living in what we want... and nobody would ever dare to try to put something cheap past her.. she would stop it! What is love?
I love your tiny home and your sparkling personality!!!
Thank you!
I wouldn’t have even thought of that, but it would be wasted space!
🏆
The absolute best "tiny" I've viewed. The style is perfect and unique in features like the outdoor fireplace, 13.5' ceilings and larger kitchen -- sooo nice. As I give greater thought to what my tiny will look like, your home certainly presented elements to be added to my check list. Simply beautiful; and thanks for sharing some valuable tips as well. Your energy and warm personality are refreshing. Keep enjoying your life by design 🙂.
Ceiling height 👍🏼😀 interior decor. 😲
@@kathleenr4047 Wow!! Thank you for the wealth of information/ knowledge. I sincerely appreciate it.
@@kathleenr4047 Hi! Thank you! That was a lot of info but I’m gonna check it all out!
I’ve watched so many tiny home videos, and I must say this is the first one I think I could live in! And Charlene is such a lovely person.
That's because it's not a tiny house.
@@marciasamuels5805 Yes it is; her place is 399 sq. ft. Anything under 400 sq. ft. qualifies as a tiny home.
Finally! A tidy tiny home. This is the best tiny home tour of a home that is actually being lived in because she has spent time down sizing to only the essentials so that the home is not a cluttered hot mess.
Yes they are usually over decorated also and Charlene’s was tasteful but not over decorated
This is the loveliest tiny home I've seen yet; everything about it is well-designed and beautifully finished. Her perspective on living is great as well! 👍
Does she say who the builder is - or what model? Super design.
@@gardenlevel7385 I think Recreation Resort Cottages in Texas has an Oasis model.
So spot on
@@erikaamerica4546 Thanks!
I was going to say the same. Looks like Oak Creek/RRC.
It's so important to have the outdoor living space in a tiny home. Good decision, Charlene!
Once a teacher always a teacher. I love how she explained the details of tiny home living.
I want a place like this. The last 2 places I have purchased have been townhomes. I have no yard , 16 stairs. I can’t handle it any more
Is there a place near WinterGarden, FL. She says model.
I already haveU-Tube e on tv and it’s free why do you want 54.99??? If that’s the case cancel
There's so many lovely homes. I'm sad they are kind of expensive but I guess being custom built means more $$!
She's a sweetheart, and her home is perfect. I love the skirting, green drapes and porches! I wouldn't do lofts either.
I honestly loved her tiny home, but how not to love her more? She's such a precious little gem 💎
One thing for sure you know exactly what you wanted and that's why your home feels so comfortable and warm. Congratulations!
One of the nicest and CLEANEST tiny home I ever seen and Ms. Charlene did an awesome job hosting and explaining every detail about her tiny home. I'd want someone like her to design all my future tiny homes!
I would love to sit on the porch with this beautiful soul!! She is the real deal!! ❤
❤️this tiny home.. best layout I’ve ever seen.. the outdoor area is the greatest feature
I agree. That wrap-around porch is wonderful. Probably expensive, though, but well worth it.
Thank you.
Where is this tiny home community and who built this tiny home. So surprised she gives no information.
How did you even begin your tiny home community search?
Would love to know how much lot rent is. This is important to know since most people are downsizing to make home more affordable. Thanks
What do s this community? I e moved to Austin in July and have been looking for a community. Only one Je keeps popping up, but i don’t think it’s th same one. Please share the name
She is so precious. I love her decor and organization. Very nice.
@@LQOTW I'm sure she meant disseminated. Auto correct is not always kind. 😂
Yes indeed!
Perfectly wonderful. C.A.H.
I love Charlene as much as her ADORABLE home! Bet she was a beloved teacher ❤
Being a teacher all her life, she is a seasoned presenter and speaker who gives a connected and personalized experience to each viewer. Brilliantly done and marvelous house! Being on one level, makes it possible for her to live here as long as she likes, as she does not have to cope with stairs
This is the best tiny home I've ever seen. The outdoor space is gorgeous and what a delightful lady! 😊
I love my outdoor living space.
@@cdunham4973 may I inquire the maker of this home? It is absolutely gorgeous 😍
@@p.jacobs5588Thank you so much. The builder was Platinum Cottages located in Athens, Texas (south of Dallas.) However, I understand that there are other TH manufacturers who build the same model. If you Messenger me, I’ll send you a copy of the blueprint which includes the model number.
@@cdunham4973 I think you probably just sold ALOT of homes for Platinum Cottages 🙂without even knowing it! I would love to have the blueprint info..hate to be a copycat. But your design is perfect!
@@susangibson7977-unfortunately, I’ve been unable to send it out thru TH-cam. However, if you will contact me via “Messenger” I can help you.
This home is stunning. So well laid out and beautifully designed. LOVE all the drawers in the kitchen. Thank you for sharing your home with us, Charlene.
Of all the tiny homes I've seen, this is my favorite. It's obvious she chose quality materials that really make it look like a comfortable, cozy, permanent home and not a box or a trailer. The outdoor living spaces look so inviting and delightful.
One of the best designed tiny home I've ever seen. Congratulations to her...she has a very nice taste. Also, thanks for her advice.
This is my favorite tiny home. Being a retired teacher…one can tell that she put a great deal of thought into the design. I am retired & I am thinking about ‘Going Tiny’. Wish me luck.
Good luck and God bless!
One of the best floor plans I've seen and I've looked at hundreds.
Charlene is amazing.
What a wonderful, precious lady! I would have loved having her be my teacher! So thoughtful, thankful, and organized! Im so glad she is happy! God bless her!
I love this home, & especially the outdoor living. That adds so much more, & it's just beautiful.
What a delightful lady! I don't think I've ever seen such a well planned out tiny home. Thanks for sharing!
She seems like a very critical and thorough thinker. She really examined what she liked, needed and wanted when she purchased her home and you can tell all her “homework” really lead to her current happy lifestyle. I relate to her a lot. 😊
This lady is so engaging and articulate.... I could listen to her forever.... She's a teacher for sure... Her faculties are so sharp!!!!!! 👏
I am so sorry for your loss
This is just one of the best tiny homes I've seen in a long time. There's nothing that I don't love about it. It feels so homey and inviting and bright and airy. I just love this.
Charlene - it was no nice to meet you by chance today at Village Farm Tiny Homes. You were so kind to invite me inside to see your home in person. Your home is beautiful! Thank you (again!) for your warm hospitality. You are a star!
Thanks Charlene for the prettiest and neatest tiny home I've seen! Love your decor! Great job!
This is the best tiny home tour I've ever watched. Her focus on detail is totally amazing. I love this lay out.
I watch a lot of videos of tiny houses but this is the best tiny home I’ve ever seen! It’s beautiful first, but it has an awesome set up. Inside & out! It looks huge! Love how you decorated! Just gorgeous! Cute owner!
Beautiful and I love the fact she explains the 4 W's and her description of how & why she choose the washer dryer was something I would need to consider as well. What a beautiful young retiree!
Just perfect! I love everything about your tiny home!💖 I am not a loft lover either, what a difference the high ceilings make, it’s hard to believe it’s under 400 sq ft. You did a wonderful job presenting your home, thank you for sharing.
She's a joy. She made this even more enjoyable than it already was. Excellent points made. 🌹
Wow that’s an incredible outdoor space for a tiny home!
Great job!!
You tell the loss of her father and husband is still hard. Losing the ones closest to you is the hardest thing you can ever endure. Happy for you that you’re loving the life you want!
Yes, I noticed that too. She seems like someone who would be very family oriented and who would love her family deeply. I'd love to have her as a neighbor.
I love this model of tiny home! It has so much room in the living room and a huge, beautiful kitchen! The porch is wonderful!
I just love her feel-good happy space. And, yes, she is a happy ray of sunshine. I have watched this video a few times already.
Perhaps the best tiny home I've seen. Love the outdoor living space, as well as the queen size bedroom with plenty of closet space. Gally kitchen is also nice. Wish I could downsize but my spouse says NO! I'll have to show them this video and maybe they will reconsider.
Good luck (sincerely). 🙂
Or honor your spouse above thyself like the bible states and honor their NO as it is seems they know what they want and know themselves ....
I love what she has done to the front deck; turned it into a lounge room , which fits in with the hot weather.
This is the best tiny home I’ve seen on TH-cam,and Charlene seems like a lovely lady, thanks for showing us round your home, best wishes from Scotland 🏴
My son's birthday In April. 2007❤❤❤
Your father raised an amazing wonderful woman❤
God bless you🎉
She’s ADORABLE!!! What a well spoken lady. She must’ve been a fantastic teacher. Also, she did a great job decorating her beautiful home. Very pretty texture & color combinations. I can see how she is the social hub of the neighborhood. I’m inspired to be like you when I grow up. 😊 Thank you for your tour.
This is the best tiny how
I have seen! So beautiful and well done. The outdoor space is awesome!!
Truly it is beautiful
From another teacher, ENJOY!! Bless you teaching for so long. You deserve this happy, easy to care for home
I love this tiny home. Thank you Charlene for sharing your beautiful space with us.
This is the first tiny house I've seen that truly appeals to me. The deck is just so functional and I love the flow from in to out
Did she mention cost?
I LOVE your tiny home. It looks very comfortable without those silly “loft” areas where you have tiny narrow stairs to fall down and navigate and you don’t have to crouch down and bump your head in some silly storage/loft area. Your home looks like a normal home with just the basic, although you’ve made the “ basics” look very awesome. 🙂👍
Charlene is absolutely charming! I love the layout of her home. The bathroom is HUGE! I love that the bedroom is on the main level. It's so bright and airy. The outside living area is beautiful! This tiny home is top notch! Well done! 👌
What a lovely, articulate, and informative lady. She answered many of my questions I've had. I've been looking at them for a little while and this one would definitely be perfect for my needs. I really would love to know the approximate price for this model. Money is
an issue for me. If anyone knows the price and where she ordered it, I would be so appreciative
I love that the bedroom is on the main floor also. I don't want one with a loft. This one is so what I want. She and it are lovely.☺
I smiled the whole time watching this. Charlene is such a breath of fresh air, and her home is stunning!!!!
You've designed and decorated the most perfect beautiful home for living big in a small footprint. Lovely! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home and wonderful life with us.
I love that it is neat & not cluttered! She stated several times that she has extra space to build more storage, but doesn't need to.
One of the most beautiful tiny houses that I’ve seen, and I’ve looked at hundreds of them. That outdoor living space is to die for!
This is one cool woman. So vibrant and full of life. I’ll bet she’s an amazing teacher. I love her home! It’s absolutely perfect ! I would love to have this set up. ❤
This was the best video on "Tiny Home" living! Great direction on so many levels. The candor of this lovely lady makes one comfortable about this type of life decision. A+ with a gold star for this retired teacher!!
