Instant pot for PERFECT baked potatoes. Game changer!!!
I love your ideas. Im 65 and i am so tired of preparing meals. Even planning what to cook brings me down. Ive decided anything that takes more than 30 minutes prep time is not worth fixing. You often have easy meal ideas that are delicious.
Thank you!
Smoked sausage is one of my staples for days when im just over it! You can throw it in a pot of beans, slice it up and cook it with eggs or rice, put it on a sheet pan with some potatoes, its super versatile!
My mom started me cooking at age 5 and I'm now 83, so to say I have cooking fatigue is an understatement! These days, though, I trade off with my adult daughter who lives with me. Having these suggestions has helped us both a lot and makes life so much easier. Thank you SO much for the immense amount of work you do for all of your followers!
I bet you have lots of cooking tips! 😀
It’s my pleasure, thank you so much for watching!
I hit a wall tonight. I took a left over chunk of ham, sliced it, fried it and made grilled cheese sandwiches w/ it. It was a big hit and didn’t take much effort!
That sound delicious!
I wish instead of cooking fatigue I’d get eating fatigue but that hasn’t happened yet. 😂
I stopped monthly meal planning on survival mode with a move and a new baby in the last year. Went to weekly and it reduced our variety. Also, lots more big kid activities so needing quick meals.
In the new year I’m starting back on the monthly planning. I enjoy it a lot.
Thank you for your salad kit + deli chicken wrap idea - it was a big hit with my family. I found a Cajun Ranch kit on sale, added shredded chicken from a can, & wrapped it all in warmed tortillas - so easy!
This is me right now, thank you for being so relatable 😭
My pleasure! Glad I can give some ideas. :)
Awesome video, thanks Mindy 👍🌲👍🌲👍
Oh my the Rhodes cinnamon rolls are so good!
Such an amazing mom. I swear your kids are so blessed. 🖤 When they are older they will look back and remember so many meals you made them. Esp on the cheap cheap and they will be so thankful they remembered those meals in times that they need to get by and eat for inexpensive. I’m 28 with 2 young kids. You’re definitely an example setter to us young moms trying to come up with cheap meals for the fam and I APPRECIATE YOU. 🥰🥰🥰
Thank You!! I’m always “fatigued” with cooking, even try to do new meals, but feels like new recipes are even more taxing because I’ve not learned how to tweak them. Know a lot of us are relating to this video, so again Thank You, Take Care
I hear ya'. Glad I can give some ideas. :)
Just wait until your 62 you will have cooking fatigue and grocery store fatigue. I am so tired of going to the grocery store! I have to go to three different ones to get all of the stuff I need. Yes kids are out of the house but I still am doing a ton of work😅
I hear you!
I’m 76 and the family still wants to have holiday meals at my house. I love the gathering, but even with help from my daughter and granddaughter, it’s just too much. I announced at thanksgiving that I’m passing the torch or we’re chipping in for catering!
@@jboren5552 I remember when my mom announced she was passing the torch. And I'm going to be next to pass it on. I'm so glad my grandkids have good memories of our home, but as you say, even with others contributing, if you're hosting, you're doing more of the work.
This 73 year old couldn’t agree more.
With the popcorn. Instead of using just almond bark, use a cookies and cream chocolate bar. GAME CHANGER.
There was so much good stuff in the video, had my meal planning sheet out and watched it twice! Def saving this one!
I'm so glad I could help! Thanks for watching!
I found this recipe a year or two ago for 5 can soup and it’s fantastic! Thought you would appreciate it! One can of each.
Corn, black beans (thoroughly rinsed), chili beans, diced tomatoes, and chicken broth. Add all ingredients to a pot and simmer for 30 minutes.
Mindy, every time i watch one of your videos, my cooking fatigue and stress diminishes so much. Thank you and God bless you, you are truly a gift to all of us mamas ❤
Thank you so much for kind words!
I just found your channel. I’ve been searching for a video like this for years. You packed so many great tips and ideas into 15 minutes. Im so tired of planning and cooking! And, great ideas for my teenagers who want to learn how to cook. I’m busy taking notes!
I had serious cooking fatigue when I was pregnant at 37 in 2021 and discovered several of these suggestions. The copycat Arby’s Beef and Cheddar sandwiches were a family favorite at that time and they didn’t even have the sauces available at the grocery store yet. We also love the chicken strips made into copycat McDonald’s Snack Wraps or KFC Chicken Littles, huh I’m starting to see a theme here. Thanks for the reminder to keep it simple during this busy time of year.
I had the cooking and grocery store fatigue in 2019 while I was 19 weeks with my 3rd grocery store pickup became a thing real quick for us!!
Wonderful cooking ideas!!!!
Thank you!! I’m a spoonie (aka I have chronic illnesses & not a lot of energy), and I love your videos, but I just don’t have the energy to do a lot of cooking. I have some short cuts I do already, but I love variety!!
This video is full of gems 💎
Thank you!
one of our favorite easy and very cheap meals is chunky soup served over rice . Our favorite is the sirloin burger and veggies but you can use whatever you like .
Once a week, we have frozen pizza and grandpa cooks. He does frozen pizza well! LOL.
great idea!
I actually like yellow potatoes for baked potatoes. It's a challenge sometimes to find larger ones, but my area seems to have them often. They can be done in about 10min in the microwave.
They make what’s called a potato bag.. you just wash your potatoes and put them in the bag damp (no holes to poke) and place in the microwave and they cook perfectly within 10 mins.. times may vary depending on how big your potato is and what the bag recommends. I always cook them like that and its been so convenient
I’m 77 yo and have cooking fatigue more than ever! Thanks for giving it a name!!!
I'm over it right now 😅 thank you for the ideas. We like to use the frozen burritos in a casserole dish with enchilada sauce topped with cheese
35 weeks pregnant while chasing my 1.5 year old😅. I LOVE cooking, but mama needs a break! Thank you!
To amp up the creamy tomato soup, add a little pesto. Sooo yummy! One of ur favorite easy meals is to cook chicken nuggets, toss in a mixture of melted orange marmalade and BBQ sauce and serve over cauliflower rice with some stir fry veggies mixed in.
Oh, that's a great tip, I'll have to try that. My oldest daughter really likes pesto.
At 66, I’m tired of cooking. I used to love it, but I still work full time on my feet all day, so it’s getting harder and harder to make myself do it.
These are great ideas, so I’m making a list and sticking it on my refrigerator. Thanks so much!
My pleasure!
I’ve used the Texas toast with chicken cutlet and made chicken Parm handheld sandwiches out of it, they are absolutely delicious, I love all of your ideas, love you, hope you have a very merry Christmas and a very happy holiday season with you and your family
Yes! I feel you. Tonight is chili dogs and frozen sweet potato fries from Trader Joe's. Quiet night at home with hubby wrapping presents and watching While You Were Sleeping. 😅
One of my favorite Christmas movies!
I just watched that the other night with my oldest daughter! I still laugh out loud at so many things, it's one of my favorite movies ever!
Great ideas! I have forever cooking fatigue😂 Feeding 5 people, 3 adults and 2 teens.
Great ideas as always Mindy!!! Baked potatoes i poke holes in it, put it in a ziplock sandwich bag (leave it open just a little) microwave 90 seconds, flip it over and another 90 seconds. I set it between potholders maybe 2 minutes and its ready to eat
Good one.
I used to be some type of way about Hamburger Helper but I tried one recently for the first time in 20ish years, and it was good! And so easy! I look forward to your homemade HH one skillet ideas! Just made the giant Italian sub sandwich using a deli loaf idea you gave us- it became a fast family favorite. Appreciate your videos so much! Thanks Mindy! You always help me get the most out of my budget/groceries/kitchen and now helping me get out of the kitchen! Awesome 🎉❤
I’m so glad I can help! Thanks for watching, and I’m glad everybody liked the sandwiches. It’s a common request by my family, especially in the summer
We did your chicken ceaser salad wraps last night and they were such a hit and so delicious that they are now going to be a staple meal in our home! Easy and delicious…can’t beat that! Love your videos!! Thanks for sharing!
I definitely love the velvetta hamburger helper boxed meals. They are little more expensive than the HH name brand but my kids and I definitely prefer the taste over the "bland" HH boxes
Hi Mindy, I actually make those Arby dupes and they are really good! I make them a beef and cheddar by adding the canned cheese. I use toasted Brioche buns and it actually tastes as good (if not better) than Arby's
I'm so glad to hear this, because I LOVE Arby's roast beef sandwiches, but they're so pricey! I need to make them soon.
@@SeeMindyMommake sure you get the onion brioche buns! Although any kind is good
I definitely needed this video. We get the frozen vegetable fried rice and make potstickers to go with it. You could also make orange chicken or sesame chicken with it. Another delicious quick meal we had ground hamburger and rice to tomato soup.
Great idea!!
Love that idea!
Add not had**
Super cooking fatigue here... loves these ideas thank you... our favorite tomatoes soup is mixing pasta sauce and a jar of Alfredo sauce..really good
Great idea!!
The tomato soup looks amazing.
thanks for the great ideas Mindy. I am with you on the cooking fatigue. The holiday season can be very busy and sometimes stressful. I love to cook but there is lots of other things I enjoy doing at this time of year also. Thank you for your hard work and helpfulness to all of us with your great ideas. God Bless you and your family this Christmas Season and I hope everything works out well for your family.
Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement!
I'm in my 70's and I tired of cooking!! but I want to know what's in my food. So I keep cooking. Yes I use a lot of sheet pan meals this time of year, and crock pot meals all year.
Great ideas as always! I will definitely be bulking up my tinned soups to stretch them even further after watching your video
When I go through cooking fatigue I try a meal kit box to have a break from my regular grocery rotation
That's a great idea. You're right, those are good for getting out of a cooking rut, too, and try new recipes.
Yes to this my birthday is in December and I wanted to enjoy the Holidays more so a meal kit service was the gift 🎁🎄 to myself !
Meal prep has helped me tremendously. The trick is to cook 3meats per meal. Then eat these three meats in 3 different ways.
meal1)Chicken can be fried. then eat!
meal2)Chicken 🥗
meal3)Tacos or nachos or chicken quesdillas.
meal4) Chicken spaghetti
meal5) chicken strip with a biscuit
meal6) bbq chicken sandwich
meal7) make chicken version for tuna fish.
meal8) macaroni& cheese add chicken and top with bacon.
I hope this helps!!! Thanks so much for all your help mandy.
Wow. An impressive amount of ideas. I am inspired to try your suggestions. Thank you. Why have I been working so hard?
i have serious cooking fatigue and dr fatigue at the moment. Daughter has had medical isues alll year (multi specialists, unknown diagnosis for a long time). Six surgeries, 8 hospital stays through out this year immunotherapy, other treatments, etc). We are on the tail end. She has her surgery tomorrow to remove the tumors. Thank God. My daughter (14) is just done with it all and mama is just at the end of her rope. Praying to God for strength for this next part of the journey at least strenth for her to get through it.
My heart goes out to you and your family. I pray for complete healing for your daughter and for rest for your entire family in the next season.
Love all the great ideas. Another quick meal with chicken strips is copycat KFC bowls..yum
Love this video! ❤ Easy works best for me. 😁
I love your channel. I make baked potatoes in the Instant Pot.
Thank you!
The older I get the more I don't want to cook . It is just my husband and I and w work different shifts. Love your ideas I still want to enjoy my meals but can't afford to eat our every night
I am praying for your family and your videos are great content so I say do whatever you want as videos are AWESOME 👌 👏
Since its currently Floridas 2 weeks of winter I've been doing pantry clean out stews and soups once a week and bale at home pizza or nachos once a week.. We only eat food i cook, sometimes Daddyo does his breakfast on a tuesday but he runs a diner sp..
Thanks for those short cuts Mindy!
super easy recipes! must try ✨
I love these ideas! Thank you so much, Mindy! 😊
Glad you like them!
I have no problem with Hamburger Helper but now that we are in our 60s and are on low sodium diets it is a no no.
I have to say that now that the house is just two of us I enjoy cooking more. I have time to experiment now.
I feel like my biggest cooking fatigue comes from the fact that no one in my family likes the same thing. I get so tired of trying to please everyone and make something that satisfies them all.
I understand, that is frustrating. Almost everything I make produces a serving or 2 of leftovers, so sometimes when I'm making something someone doesn't like, they heat up the previous night's meal. Sometimes I have cooked 2 meals on the same night, but then I DON'T cook the next night but everybody has 2 choices both nights.
Same thing with my kids!!!
Cooking fatigue, it's a real thing for sure. Thankfully I know it passes but when it's here it is here 👍 folks still need to eat though so thank you very much for this video. It is pretty helpful right now, doing the chicken wraps tonight. Learned some new tricks here and glad to be reminded about some familiar but somehow forgotten about items:) thanks for sharing and Merry early Christmas.
Glad I could give an idea! The chicken wraps are a favorite in our house, especially in the summer.
Thank you for all the tips!
Going to try the chicken tortellini soup, we are not big soup eater but this one looks really good. Thought I could also add corn and bell peppers 👍
I have also used my instapot for baked potatoes.
ALL Great ides! Thanks!
I've been dealing with cooking fatigue for about 4 years now. None of my teens want to eat what I make or one will, and the other 2 won't.. So, I think why bother. So tiring! Thanks for these great ideas. Your hair looks great, btw! ❤❤
Thank you!
You have the best ideas.. thank you
Thanks for watching!
We just came back from an overnighter at my parents and I didn’t have a chance to stock the kitchen before we left so for Sunday lunch we’re having breakfast sandwiches. 😂
Arbys always has deals in their app. Right now its $1 fries, $2 shakes and $3 beef n cheddar. Makes for a nice takeout that is cheap
Use a cookies and cream chocolate bar instead of plain almond bark.On the popcorn. GAME CHANGER.
Oh wow! Great idea!
I saved this one. You did awesome giving great idea.
Thanks so much!
I love tomato soup and ham and cheese hot pocket.
Once in a while we get pizza .it’s cheaper to cook at .home.❤ you taught me a lot I used biscuits ham and cheese calzone so I would was food thanks
Try making chilaquiles with your leftover corn chips and pre-shredded chicken 🤗🤗🤗
Great idea!!
Thank you 🙏
Love this video thanks ❤😊
Miss Mindy I appreciate your content so much and have managed to adapt a lot of your ideas to my own circumstances as much as I can. You've helped me learn to take better care of myself and family.
I don't know if you are in a position to read comments given that life is a thing that exists but I'm hoping you may be able to give me an assist.
Do you know of any channels similar to yours (in a way) that can help with cooking creativity around allergies? There are channels and videos that help with that, but I have had difficulty finding family friendly ones. Or at least family-respectable. Sometimes I run into channels I think are appropriate and then two or three videos later discover inconsistencies in content maturity ratings.
Thank you for the things you do.
I'd take it as a close, personal favor if you have a fantastic holiday season, btw. :p
I can’t name any off the top of my head but you might do a google search (outside of TH-cam) and include the specific allergy needs (gluten, nuts, dairy, etc) and see what pops up.
Thank you for sharing, I like the easy sometimes since I come tired from work the last thing I wanna do is cook. My daughter wanted spaghetti last night which I did end up making. What's an easier way to have a quick spaghetti, I didn't care for Barilla pre cooked pasta bags.
I cook enough pasta to put some in the freezer for another night. Undercook a bit and freeze in a freezer bag or container. When needed, dump frozen pasta in hot water, let sit...done.
Another great video! ❤
Thank you!!
Great video! So many good ideas.
Glad you like them!
Thank you Mindy these definitely help
Glad it was helpful!
How did you make the cheese broccoli that went over baked potato?
Great ideas!
Love the glasses.
Great sharing my friend Have a nice weekend ❤❤
Thanks, you too!
I was 30 when i was over cooking and grocery shopping. I am now 70 😅
Thank you for the video.
Thank you for watching!
My friend birthday was yesterday I mailed her a birthday gift early before December
There are times I don’t want to cook or spend much money. We have a Sam’s membership. So we go to Sam’s and get a bag salad ($2 and change). Then go to the food counter and get a drink and pizza slice each($2.50/person). We walk out spending less than $10 to feed my family.
Are the glasses heavy? I wonder because of the toppers. I would love to try them but dont like heavy frames
The toppers are very light and thin. I don’t notice any difference in weight from my other frames in the past.
Homemade hamburger helper is intriguing.
I remember when the burritos were 2.50!!!!!!
I need to know what that is at the 0:25 second mark because it looks delicious 😋
I am 71 and have mostly cooked from scratch for 52 years. Even working full time. Well, I am sick of it ! I hate to cook now. But everyone still wants me to do it. I cook but with resentment. At the point where it’s -- do it yourself ! I still do everything else in the house. Too. --Holidays ? Who cares ! Ahhh ! Feels so good to complain ! Lol. Great ideas though
Cream of chicken soup egg noodles frozen broccoli or peas or both and good quality cheddar & rosemary!! So good!
great video 😊
I don't go shopping anymore, I order all my groceries online and have them delivered every week.
What's the difference between white almond bark and white chocolate chips? They taste the same to me so is one better?
Microwave baked potatoes is way to go
