Thanks so much for the video, I’m a pretty handy guy and am ok with basic vehicle maintenance, but had to say removing emission filter system to change a bulb it’s pretty interesting. Thank you so much really helped and save me about 200 bucks!
Hey wanted to say thank you. Got the driver side done, then went to do the passenger side and said "Where's Uncle TH-cam'' It was very easy to follow, thanks again 🙏
These bulbs do require a 30 degree collar rotation to get the correct orientation. dxv0kh7euhy9z.cloudfront.net/wysiwyg/9012_14_GMC_Sierra_1500_Collar_Rotation_30.jpg

Hello Diode, I changed my stock headlight bulbs to LED & my check engine light came on, any suggestions on why & what I can do to make it go out w/o going to the dealership?
Had the same issue, turns out it was air getting in around wear your air box and flex hose meet. Unmetered air will do that. Double check all the connections between the throttle body and air box.
@@diodedynamics yeah if they will damage ...the question is because months ago I install different 9012 Leds in my truck and supposedly they damage the bcm but I bought it in Amazon
@@MrJunior6939 We've never heard of these damaging a BCM. However, it is important to note that we no longer offer these as headlight bulbs. We recommend them for foglight use only.
Overkill on the passenger side. All you need to do is loosen the hose clamp and disconnect the MAF sensor harness. Slide the tube off the airbox and then rotate the entire airbox assembly up and out from the end of the tube you just disconnected.

so just skip over the part of aligning the diodes? And the part about adjusting the collar if not correct? Yeah, well either way it doesn't avoid the shadow effects on the projector. This product is insufficient for this type housing
Hello! We have found that adjusting the collar of the SL1 is not required for every application, so we created a separate video covering that. As shown in the video, the SL1 is a definite upgrade, compared to the stock Halogen bulbs. If you are having issues with a set, or if you have any other questions, just give us a call at 314-205-3033, Monday-Friday 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. CST, or shoot us an email at contact@diodedynamics.com!

There are definitely many different ways to go about installing these! This was the way that we felt was most efficient for our application!
Thank you. This video is straight to the point and easy to understand. I successfully changed my lights on my truck with no issues.
Glad that we could be of help! :)

I bought these for my GMC. I’m not sure if I need to adjust them, but I’m not getting great beam coverage.

Great video, just ordered a pair. Can’t wait to get them in.
Thanks for your support, Scott!
How are you liking them? I have to replace my LED headlights every 8 months or so.. never used this brand
Simple good explanation. Thanks

Is it safe to do this with no real place for the bulbs to vent?
Absolutely! These bulbs were designed to function for over 40,000 hours in sealed headlight housings.
Is there anyway you can do this without removing the air box?
From our experience, to gain access to the back of the headlamp, the airbox must be removed!

Same thing happened to me. Currently troubleshooting by removing battery ground for 20 mins
Did unplugging the battery work for you guys?
@@alexpat2502 It went out as I was driving & it never came back on. Thanks
@@alexpat2502 yes. Unplugged ground for a few minutes and plugged back in, started up and no problems since.

Will these also work for a 2015 Silverado 1500? If not, why?
Hey there! They sure will! Check them out below!

No check engine lights with these bulbs!
Yes, I did.....I think its cuz we messed with the air filter and sensors..... thanks GMC
