Thank you so much for this lovely video! We'll be travelling with our bigger Samoyed over Christmas this year and were unsure whether we should get a kennel or splash out on the room. Looks like the room will be much more comfortable!!
As one of the Danish owners of DFDS I am a little surprised, that we also have a dog service, but it is nice to know. Sadly we hardly have a route to GB from Denmark, except for freight, from Esbjerg, for trucks and containers. But you have made it hard for yourself, I admit. Finn 🙂
Worth noting that unless things have changed the deck space on Princess seaways for dogs is tiny compared to the king seaways. Obviously anything is better then sticking them in a cage, but having experienced King seaways outbound we were surprised at how little space there was on princess seaways.
I presume it applies to cats too! If you give them a call they're super helpful! I just checked our booking confirmation and we were charged a pet fee on top. You can only book the pet cabins by calling so they can give you a price breakdown of everything before you book ❤️
It is a daily route so there are usually pet cabins available however I would advise booking as far in advance as possible to guarantee you get the date you want - peak times and weekends sell out quicker. I don't believe the cabin itself is more expensive, but there is an additional pet fee. You can't book the pet cabin unless you ring their sales line so I would book it as soon as you know your dates.
@@thedailycavalier Thankyou for the information. 2023 crossings aren't available yet but I will keep my eye open. Great, informative video which has really helped my plan my trip - many thanks.
Great video, may i ask pls, do u feel sick on such type of boat? We planning to take one and i wonder does it feels or not. On small boats i do have such problem. Your feedback would be very appreciated
Hello!! Prices change depending on time of year. You cannot book pets online, but you can get a rough idea of the cost by inputting the information/dates etc on the dfds website. The only way to book pet cabins is by phoning the customer service line.
Hi, can u advise if this is still the case as we have just booked a pet friendly cabin online? Don't know if I now need to call and confirm with an actual human, too. Thanks
Hi Chad. The price varies throughout the year depending on the season. You can get an idea of the cost on the DFDS website but you can only book pet cabins by phoning them where they will give you a price. It also will vary on what pet option you choose (cabin or pet hotel/kennel) so it would be impossible to list the prices when there are so many variables.
I just looked this up, because you can now book the pet friendly cabin on the website. I'm finding anything from £199-in the £400s for a car+two people+one dog friendly cabin (which is what I'm looking for). The cabin was around £130 at the cheapest. You don't share it with strangers.
Thankyou so much for sharing
This has been very helpful as i am looking at travelling with my chihuahua
Thank you for your comment! We wish you the best on your journey!

Great video, love your dogs, seems like it was a great experience for you all.xx
Really helpful video b4 booking this trip with our chihuahua
Thank you for the lovely video. We're going next September (Scotland) and I was curious as to how the potty-area would look like. I'm super excited!
No problem at all! Hope you have an amazing trip in Scotland ❤️

Good to know! We've only done the King Seaways and I was very impressed but have never gone on the princess.
@@thedailycavalier FYI having just travelled I can confirm as of this year there is now a bigger deck space on princess seaways also. 👍
very informative. wonder what they might say with my 2 rottweilers lol
This applies to cats too right? Also did you have to pay additional fees for the dogs aside from the pet friendly cabin?

Planning to take my dog on this route next February. How hard was it to secure a pet friendly cabin? Does a pet cabin cost more than a regular one?

I didn't feel sick at all and I get severe sea sickness on boats! You definitely feel less movement on bigger boats so I didn't feel sick once.
ive never seen anyone get seasick on them big ferry's.
but i have seen very many get sick from partying too hard lol
If it's on the sea, I get sick regardless of the size of the boat. Pack something to take or get the patch for behind the ear.
How much is the cabin for 2 adults and a pet even a rough idea would be nice thanks in advance

It says cabin has 4 people .. does that mean you have to share with strangers?
