Oliver Lee Memorial State Park, New Mexico

Oliver Lee Memorial State Park is located 8 miles south of Alamogordo via US 54 and 4 miles east via Dog Canyon Road.
The drive along Dog Canyon Road offers spectacular views of the Sacramento Mountains. Oliver Lee Memorial State Park is situated at the base of these mountains at an elevation of 4,400 feet.
The park is named in honor of Oliver Milton Lee, who in 1893 built a ranch at the entrance to Dog Canyon. Other than ranching, Lee is also known for being a law officer, state legislator, businessman, and gunfighter.
