The number one preferable thing in Canada by far the safety ( which is declining but still good). The second preferable are the public spaces in Canada, they are better ( beautiful, well maintened, parks and schools are so well made). Canada is so beautiful , I miss that beauty. ( I lived in Kitchener in 2023 and 2024). But my comparison is an "avarage" ( I am considering the most parts of Brazil), I live in the middle of Brazil ( 50% civilization and 50% third world). Brazil goes from Colombia to Germany in the same Nation. There is slums, there are "normal places" ( like where I live) and there are very good places ( like Santa Catarina). Santa Cataria is like Germany, I am sure SC is the best state/province you can go to live, very safe, germanic/portuguese/italian people. Before I went to Canada I was considering go to Santa Catarina or Parana ( close to SC)They are the best places to live in Brazil by far! They got high quality of life. Dont worry about language, to learn a new language is like to learn ride a bike, look very difficult until it doesnt ( you are smater than you think). Just in case you care: I did not see one,(not even one) indian or islamic person since I am back ( and I go to a lot of places).

It has not been easy adapting to the new culture( language, driving differences, humidity ect. Now after all these years I finally enjoy the Country, The freedom here is wonderful the simple life style, not much taxes,no house ins. the food, supermarkets are great, I pay 60.00$ a year for car ins. liability only.i drink a coconut everyday. have patience when you move, and realize that there are many things to appreciate living outside of the so called developed world( I dont mis Calif. they can keep their high taxes and regulations.

My parents and some of their friends left authoritarian Communist Yugoslavia for Canada in the 60s and 70s. Now many of their children are leaving Canada for the same reason. I personally know about 10 people who have permanently left Canada.
I am from the US but I am a permanent resident in Panama. The infrastructure in Panama City is just as good as it is in any US city. You will be far safer in Panama than you are in the US or Canada. In Panama, the climate is varied (many microclimates), the people are friendly, medical care is affordable and great, and life is inexpensive.

Every time my wife and I visit Monterrey, Mexico we see more and more foreigners. Two weeks ago I was working out of a Starbucks in a middle class area of town and two Hispanic Americans walked in and sat at the table next to me. They were talking about an engineering project and sales strategy. That is about all I got from their conversation but it was an example of new opportunities springing up in Latin America. I also see a lot of Chinese foreigners. At this particular mall that the Starbucks is located in it is common to see groups of Chinese ladies with their babies. I imagine their husbands are plant managers and such at the manufacturing facilities that are owned by Chinese companies. The city has a fresh entrepreneurial feel to it that I have not seen in the US for a very long time. The locals look more content, optimistic, energetic and less angry than locals in the US. The city is loosing its Mexican "manana" attitude for a "time is money" attitude. Exciting things are happening just a 2.5 hour drive from the Texas border.
We moved to Mexico over 3 years ago now and could not be happier, yes I was amazed how many Canadians and Americans live here full time and snowbird here. We are traveling around Mexico for now.

I was born in Guatemala and my parents brought me to Toronto when I was 2 so I basically lived my whole life here but my dream is to buy a farm and move back home. Canada isn’t what it used to be we’re just tax slaves here and the government and corporations see us as cattle just looking to extract as much as they can from us where most people live just above the poverty line now.

Canada will get better with Pierre Poilievre elected as PM. He just announced a promise to remove the GST off new house purchases below 1 mill and remove the GST on construction so the builders can pads on the savings to the buyers.

There are however no talks on the federal level about the two concerns you mentioned. I remember BC limiting foreign buyers buying in bulk but that was long ago now and already too late.
@michaw2209 I could yell you for sure I predicted the housing crisist at the beginning of the pandemic. I'm no economist I was just using my commonsense . I talked about rent and home ownership spiraling out of control. Along as there are pepple wilingl to rent their home out with 20 people inside nothing will change. The house prices won't go down buy much at all that's my next prediction. The government needs to start implementing new laws, stopping people from house flipping. If this doesn't stop the housing issue will get worse that's my two sense and you can bet I'll be 100 percent correct on that one too.

Canada will get better with Pierre Poilievre elected as PM. He just announced a promise to remove the GST off new house purchases below 1 mill and remove the GST on construction so the builders can pads on the savings to the buyers.
Will that stop house flipping and stop people from owning multiple properties ? I don't think so . Nothing will change if more concrete measures aren't put in place .
@jaycommonsense2468 well, it will increase the supply for sure, and it should maybe reduce the prices if builders compete for customers. There are however no talks on the federal level about the two concerns you mentioned. I remember BC limiting foreign buyers buying in bulk but that was long ago now and already too late.
@michaw2209 I could yell you for sure I predicted the housing crisist at the beginning of the pandemic. I'm no economist I was just using my commonsense . I talked about rent and home ownership spiraling out of control. Along as there are pepple wilingl to rent their home out with 20 people inside nothing will change. The house prices won't go down buy much at all that's my next prediction. The government needs to start implementing new laws, stopping people from house flipping. If this doesn't stop the housing issue will get worse that's my two sense and you can bet I'll be 100 percent correct on that one too.
