- Takes place May 31, 2015 - Honoka'a, Hawai'i
On Sunday, Trevor Hall returned to the Big Island to play a special show for a blessed group at the quaint Honoka’a People’s Theater on the North side of the island.
It was a truly special night. Of all of the amazing performances, the final song of the set, a performance of ’Obsidian’ as torrential rains played background music against the theater roof, felt especially potent.
So glad to have recorded it to share with you all here.
Aloha X

Lyrics:
He said
Black like Obsidian
Land of the Indian
Sound out the call
This is mother's dominion
Bird of the thunder
We don't go under
We sing aloud
We don't care for opinion
Oh sky horses
Ancestor forces
I hear the language
I hear the language
Deep
Wake from your sleep
Swallow up the message
And tell me what you see
I see constellations burning (burning, burning, burning)
All the worlds they are turning (turning, turning, turning)
But the music is my fortress (fortress, fortress, fortress)
See I heard it in a chorus (chorus, chorus, chorus)
Last night I saw a blazing stallion
Running through the fields of Babylon
His dark mane on fire
Singing of a spiritual empire
(Way, hey, hay yah yah yah, hey yah yah yah, hey yah yah)
(Way, hey, hay yah yah yah, hey yah yah yah, hey yah yah)
(Way, hey, hay yah yah yah, hey yah yah yah, hey yah yah)
(Way, hey, hay yah yah yah, hey yah yah yah, hey yah yah)
It's my war cry
(echo, echo, echo)
Echo our skies
(echo, echo, echo)
This is my tribe
All is inside
Mother speaking
The life that she buy
Body temple
The sum of my whole
Listen closely
The sound of Ohm
Ohm in intervals
Steadily we aim
Till all of the people
We shoot out of the frame
Skulls on our neck
Third eye go ablaze
Evil come 'round
Her sword she raise
Last night I saw a blazing stallion
Running through the fields of Babylon
His dark mane on fire
Singing of a spiritual empire
Last night I saw a blazing stallion
Coming with a full battalion
His black mouth spit flames
Burning up our evil ways
(Way, hey, hay yah yah yah, hey yah yah yah, hey yah yah)
(Way, hey, hay yah yah yah, hey yah yah yah, hey yah yah)
(Way, hey, hay yah yah yah, hey yah yah yah, hey yah yah)
(Way, hey, hay yah yah yah, hey yah yah yah, hey yah yah)
