Growing up we had a picnic bench under a pine tree ( my dad had cut branches off for mowing) in our side yard near the grill.
Our house came with a picnic bench!
My grandparents had a picnic table in the back yard, so I don't see it as public only item. I have many memories of hang out on that table with friends and cookouts with family!
I tend to prefer picnic tables in sims builds instead of table and chairs. I never thought about it being something only for community lots.

I love this house!! Have you ever gone back to a starter house that you've made and "upgraded" it? Like as if the starter family saved up like 50000 simoleons and wanted to expand on the house, I think it could be a good idea ❤

I know you prefer smaller builds but I would love If you did a penthouse (or one of the bigger apartaments) with a mystical decor. Is something I have never seen before and considering how much I love your taste, the result would be amazing!
I've known lots of people who have picnic tables, and we have one in our yard right now. I don't think it's all that unusual.
i get not everyone had em, but i had a picnic table in my backyard growing up till was about 8 then we moved and didn't have space for it anymore, but we did have one!

My uncle's house had a picnic table in the back yard. Also a cousin's house had one as well. I have very fond memories of family gatherings around those tables. 😊
I had a large picnic table in my backyard growing up! We threw a lot of pool parties and needed the permanent seating.
My childhood home growing up had a picnic table in the back yard, so definitely not limited to community spaces. Love the giant pumpkins - you can never go wrong with pumpkins, IMO.

As a Floridian I am jealous of the falls and winters of the northern states. We don't get those anymore. lol I really wish I could just pack up and leave this state forever. And I also have Halloween themed décor as regular décor. I even have an Edger Allen Poe quote up in my room and Halloween themed key caps on my keyboard. 🎃

I've just decorated the top of my computer...I have a hutch sort of thing going on, the top is flat and about 6 feet long so it looks cool! I went to Homegoods for 90% of my deco!
It's not uncommon where I live to have a picnic area outside but it's rarely a picnic table. It's more like a grill/smoker a half a dozen lawn chairs and a fire pit
I've only experienced picnic tables in public spaces irl, but I'm pretty sure one of the sims 4 city living apartments has a picnic table indoors.

When I was young we had a picnic table and benches then when I got older we changed to a outdoor sofa and chairs. I think my parents got the picnic table for us kids and when we got older we had more people over so we upgrated our outdoor hang out space.

Picnic tables at homes are super common where I live so I never thought about it being a community public lot thing.
I think picnic benches are pretty normal. I've had friends and family with them in their yards.

I think my Popa built his picnic bench that he had. Same with the swinging bench he had. Miss that place.😊
I'm pretty sure my sister has 2 picnic tables as her dining room tables because she has such a large family it was cheaper to do that

I am looking forward to ALL the fall builds. I've had several homes with picnic tables back east; not so much in the SW, since it's so hot most of the year for outside dining. Although I've seen some people treat the placement of a picnic table as if it was a public space.
