Pro-tip: Just rent a truck to move, you will make less trips (maybe even just one). You will have to make a dozen trips moving a house your size using a trailer.
@@corazondemelon8374 That silver paint made a huge difference to the bumper, didn't it?!! I only saw a few letters on the paint can, but my guess is 'Tremclad' brand of paint? Hopefully, Alex will answer and give you the exact name. Do you have some touch-ups you want to do on the metal of a car? Good luck.
@Curiosity Incorporated how is it that you and your family don’t have as thick of an accent of the other Canadians you have showcased on your channel. BTW…I adore the accent.
The ice cream parlor also has the benefit of having 500k worth of people aware of their existence internationally! Seems like a good thing for everyone!
I need a Canadian Tire to open up near me. 😀😀😀 It seems like they sell everything, another channel I watch (Steve Wallis), also from Edmonton, buys everything from there.
Making good progress cleaning out ice cream parlor! LOVE going along on Alex’s WALK to work! Great music! Is that Alex whistling? Stepping on/cracking ice patches can be FUNNN at any age!!!
You’re just a marvel at how much you get accomplished! I got tired just watching the video! Of course I’m not a spring chicken, but I’m truly amazed at your tenacity and energy! Looks great! On to he next! 🤗❣️🌸👍🏠👏
Oh Alexander, don't work too hard. We don't want your back to get inflamed again. You are doing a marvelous job of making your store beautiful and functional. I'm glad you found buyers for the cases, tables, etc. you won't be needing. Now a home for the airplane, the Billiard sign picked up, etc., and WaLaa, everything in its place and a place for everything. You are so good at organization/visualization, you're Super Impressive! Peace be with you and yours. Take good care. See you soon.
You get SO MUCH DONE! It's going to be interesting to see what the new tenants are going to do. I ran my own little chain of three ice cream stores in the early 70s. We had pinball machines and the very early video games, too. In those days, pinball machines were mostly in bars and bowling alleys.
What you are doing makes good business sense and hopefully the Ice cream/Sweet shop will do well and add to your business. You have always made wise business choices lets hope this will work out as well as you hoped. Thanks for sharing.
Great merchandising. Your store has always been a hit , and with the draw from an ice cream palor ,you are sitting pretty. Wise business venture. Great future before you.
Excited for all the changes. I always thought the ice cream parlor was a better fit than coffee. No offense to those who enjoy coffee, but ice cream is fun and draws all ages of people & families which I think would help you sell more of the variety of items you carry. Something for everyone. Can't wait!
There is a small antique store in small tourist town close to me. Most people know it as the fudge shop. Mainly antiques but a small area with a counter that sells fudge, ice cream, hot chocolate, and coffee. Seating is outside. I believe their food/drink is their main business.
I was beginning to wonder why you built the new addition at all if you are already giving it up, but if you can have it paid off in four years that is fantastic! And from that point on it will be all profit. I hope you will have room for both of those cabinets in the back room of the store because they are very nice looking vintage cabinets. I am glad that everything is falling into place at the store and the new house!
He didn't realize he would have to get another license till the building was almost finished. So now he's doing what is best for that part of the shop. Shame he couldn't do it himself, but having tenants in is the next best thing
Never a dull moment. If I lived nearby I would probably be coming by your store quite regularly, if not to browse and buy then at least to check out what had changed since last time ….. you do keep things interesting!
Delightful as always! We love you guys and enjoy going along with you on your journey. Very excited about this new opportunity. Wise decision as always ☺️
Alex you are a resourceful! Hard working guy. I wish I had your get up and go attitude. Of course I'm much older than you. Excuses, excuses! Bless you and your family! An Arizona can of your channel.
I’m sure this venture with the renting next door will be a good move. Having the building paid for in 4 years is always going to be a smart decision. 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍
They don't call you Alex ArchBOLD for nothing - you decide what you want to do, and then do it. If you're in retail, you can't hesitate to sell anything that doesn't fit your current business plan.
Truck looks good...surprising what a lick of paint will do...shop looks really good and a lot in it for people to see as they walk in...wish I cld walk in but I'm in the UK...
Awesome job!! Your store's getting a revamp now. And you're building up items for another auction. 7 year list from the ice cream parlor wow!! That's amazing. Good for the Archbalds!!
It is too bad you couldn't do what you wanted to do with the addition. That would have been a great little spot. Great news on the new tenants who will be there. It sounds like one way or another, it will still feel like a vintage area!
Goodness I'm knackered watching that vlog with the tooing and frowing of cabinets. Amazing how you have fitted it all in. You've earned your rest this evening Alex, and you had a long walk. See you soon xx
Your store looks great! I only wish I could get to Edmonton to shop and actually see everything. Our family came to Canada every year growing up. Dad was an avid fisherman. I am in my 60's now and live in Pennsylvania so kind of difficult to travel. God bless you all!
Alex my love, the adventure has started. Ice cream shop/coffee shop will be a new exciting add on. I bet the excitement is too much to believe it’s really happening. Wow, I’m happy for you. Thank you for presenting me the video! I m also collecting antique products such as old coins and notes. I also want to tell you that i m hearing to you while watching the video based on general Kim jong il s funeral in north Korea
Congratulations on selling your house!👏👏 Loved your 40 block walk and the crunching on ice.🙂 The store is looking great. You are such a hard worker Alex! Very inspiring. 🙏💙💙💛💛
If they can make all the permits work it's great, they have some tricky laws when it comes to selling and making food and the requirements for plumbing and all that. You'll have a lot of constant company, they might make quite late hours too. I wonder if the kids will still buy the sweets when they can go get their icecream.
What a productive few days…I’m so happy for you and the new tenants…I wish I was closer 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 😂I love merchandising …and you learn that a square peg can fit in a round hole( it just has to be the right size 😂😂 ) you’ve been given a challenge and you always rise to the occasion…have a great week 🙋🏻♀️💕🇬🇧jane
Still inspiring. The neighborhood is going to have a great addition. And I bet the shop owners will be smart enough to offer a variety of beverages. 🍦🍨☕🥤💰
Ice cream and antiques! Two of my favorite things! That is a great business move to combine the two...Alex, you need to sand the paint off the hitch ball. Your electrical system relies on the ball for being ground. Your trailer lights will flicker or fail until the paint is worn off. Buy a shiny new one to put on there even though you have a receiver hitch.
When I saw the front of the store (about mid video) ... I was fondly remembering you putting the basket display for lollipops together with your daughter adding lollipops some time ago~ When you left the truck for the new receiver hitch, I thought the back bumper would look really nice cleaned up and it was very satisfying to see you did that after you picked it up~ Your original space is looking really great with the items from next door being incorporated... Love how you make things happen! Very encouraging to watch! I'm going to go make some things happen in my spare room upstairs which is a 'catch all' right now ;) Thoroughly enjoy your videos of what is happening with your adventures!!!
Ít doesn’t seem all the far off from your original plan except that it won’t be under your umbrella. You had planned for it to be a comestible type place and that’s what it will be. Good on ya!

Wow, you did a lot of work! It will be pretty cool when the new tenants have moved in, I’m kind of anxious to see what they have for foods!

We own the store and the addition so there isn’t anything to pay off. Just property tax and regular bills :)
