I was just thinking about this song today with the eclipse happening. I wish we could just blast this song all over the world for people to hear it.....🙏❣️
No dry eyes here. I've been connected to this song since 1967. I was only 6 years old but Monkee music was continuously played in my house, not to mention watching them on TV. My older sisters had all the albums which I inherited until I was old enough to buy my own copies, etc. I was happy to have seen them a few times in concert, especially when they sang this song with Davy. Definitely one of my all time favorites of theirs. Thanks for keeping it alive guys!
I agree! To me, the best Monkees song, and I always loved Peter's part the most; emotive, made the song his own. To hear and watch him do it in person brought great closure to a lifetime of that song playing in my head.
When I was a kid -- I always wanted to be Peter Tork--when I watched him I noticed that he always wore his belt buckle on his left hip----this was to keep the buckle from scratching the back of his guitar--years later i still do the same thing as tribute to one of my boy hood heroes. Never forget these guys.
So hard to watch now that Peter is gone too. I can't imagine growing up without The Monkees in my life. The show, the music, just everything. They will both be sorely missed for whatever time I have left here...
I am Japanese Monkeemania. I Hear This Song at 1966.There is no Single cut from the Albam [ HeadQuarters] But This Song is Evergreen. And I was born at 1956 . Yes I like Monkees Forever.
Hauntingly beautiful performance. The lyrics are chillingly relevant to what is going on in the world---especially in this country---today. Thank you, guys, for a very moving performance.
Unending sorrow missing the incredibly talented Peter Tork. Love this song. With Davy gone too, I can only imagine how hard it is for Mickey. RIP friend.
I was fortunate to catch the opening show of their farewell tour in Spokane, WA on Sep 10, 2021 and for me it was bittersweet. That was the fifth time since 1986 that I had seen them in concert and it made me sad to think that that was the last time I would ever see the Monkees in concert again. I know that Micky at least plans to continue his solo performances, but in light of Mike’s recent health issues (quadruple bypass surgery for congestive heart failure in 2018) I’m not so sure I’ll ever get the chance to see Mike by himself. It also made me sad to think that Peter and David are gone now too. May they forever rest in peace. 😢
Some of the most magical moments of the show are Daydream Believer and Shades of Gray. I hope they played i wanna be free too.... R.I.P Davy Jones . We lost a great actor and singer.
My very favorite Monkee’s song. I use this analogy all the time. The world is not black and white. There is a lot of gray! RIP, Davy and Peter. Your music will always be a part of me. ❤️
The saddest song I ever heard from these guys, when I think about them. Both lead singers of this most beautiful song are gone. Will we ever hear it live again? There are 2 of them left. May they live another 30yrs. Hey, hey, they're The Monkees!
What a beautiful tribute to Davy, to perform live "with him" as Davy sings the recorded lead vocal with videos/pictures of him on the big screen in background. Davy's band mates thought this through, and you can tell how much they cared for their missing friend. Very moving!
Omg I was there too at Keswick. Very emotional moment. I could feel Mickey sadness. When he kept looking up at his dear friend Davy, I lost it. Im so happy you shared. Now even sadder now that Peter is gone. God willing I am seeing Mike and Micky in two wks in Lancaster. I will completely lose it if they play this.
This is made even sadder looking at Micky's face while Davy was singing. What a great song. And made so much sadder with the vocals of Davy. But what a great job job.
Missing Davy and Peter!! ❤❤ This group of guys brought SO MUCH JOY to their fans. I will never outgrow my love for The Monkees, their WONDERFUL music, fun comedy and silliness, and their individual personalities. It was all MAGIC, and I hope future generations listen, also. I know I will keep listening. ❤
When I was in 7th grade Spanish class circa 1967 we had to go around the class and pronounce the sentence "voy al baile con....." (I'm going to the dance with...,). When it was my turn, I said "Voy al baile con Pedro Tork." I was in love with Peter!!
Wow this made me shed tears. Being able to see the youth of the Monkees to now the later years. Always appreciate what we have everyday, not when it's gone and now there's two.
My fav. Monkees song and I'm a Monkees nut....I'm crying like I'm not a 45-yo grown woman! I just met Micky in Feb and I wish I had seen this 1st so I could have told him how special this is.
i remember seeing a interview with Davy Jones RIP, who said the reason why people love the Monkees...its part of our childhood. This song really sums up what I want to remember about life and the Monkees...having fun, and as they said in their own song..." were too busy singing to put anybody down." RIP Davy, Peter, and Mike. sweet memories Thanks John James Minster for this video. lets all remember the fun times. I like to believe that Davy, Peter, and Mike are up in the big Music Hall in the sky having tireless Jam sessions with John Lennon, George Harrison, Jimi Hendrix, Chuck Berry, Elvis..i think you get the idea.. I better stay good so i can go up there for those sessions when my time comes..The sad part is missing the greats and I do claim one injustice how a band quintuple Platinum sang their own songs, and not inducted in the hall of fame....that should be considered a crime in my opinion.
In our memories they will always be together and always in their prime. So many memories with "Mr. Peabody" there too :-). The world is in a still sadder state as of this post, but we find some solace in those memories they can't take away...
I still have my Monkees scrapbook I made in the 6th grade. I cut their pictures out of Tiger Beat, glued them down, and added "clever" quips in a cartoon dialogue balloon 🤭 I also had a section devoted to Paul Revere and the Raiders 🐎
Saturday, August 10, 2019--4:19 pm CST I hope Peter Tork is recognized on the Memorandum segment of the Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 22, 2019. Terry Marvin (Dallas, Texas, USA)
Not sure that we on the outside will ever comprehend how much these guys meant to each other..I have no idea how Raefelson assembled these guys, but I want to believe that it was supernaturally inspired....Too perfect to be terrestrial
This Video proves once and for all how talented the monkees were.God Bless.
This is one of their best songs ever! To see Micky turn to watch Davy on the screen broke my heart. Thank you ❤️ RIP DAVY PETER AND MIKE
Me too
thank you . very underrated song.
I was just thinking about this song today with the eclipse happening. I wish we could just blast this song all over the world for people to hear it.....🙏❣️
This is so sweet, and watching Micky looking back at the photos of Davy makes me think how sad he must be now missing Peter too.
And now Mike as well. Their music formed a part of the soundtrack to our lives...
I'm a grizzled old man now, but this chokes me up. As a teen I loved the Monkees.
From a Band that wasn't a "real" Band, they changed the face of music forever. So much talent on 1 stage. i love you Monkees
Thank You Peter for all the joy you brought to so many fans. RIP
No dry eyes here. I've been connected to this song since 1967. I was only 6 years old but Monkee music was continuously played in my house, not to mention watching them on TV. Same here I love these guys
Same here. I remember being 11years old tearing up to this song but in Tribute to Davy just turned my tear drops to a bucket full.
I agree! To me, the best Monkees song, and I always loved Peter's part the most; emotive, made the song his own. To hear and watch him do it in person brought great closure to a lifetime of that song playing in my head.
Me too seeing it now! x
I just heard it 3 days ago and it has become my all-time favorite Monkees song.
Same here.
I have to agree. ❤❤❤❤
So true.....
To the Monkees Thank You for your first class contribution to the music
Industry. I will always be a forever fan of the Monkees !

I was about to start crying;( this song is so relevant for our screwed up world . They still sound great.
Saw that recently in an old photo and thought it was by accident. Good to know!
He was my crush back in the day.
So hard to watch now that Peter is gone too. I can't imagine growing up without The Monkees in my life. The show, the music, just everything. They will both be sorely missed for whatever time I have left here...
Goodnight Peter...beautiful song which still chimes 40 years after I first heard it x
Beautiful tribute. Pure love. RIP Davey and Peter.
I am Japanese Monkeemania. I Hear This Song at 1966.There is no Single cut from the Albam [ HeadQuarters] But This Song is Evergreen. And I was born at 1956 . Yes I like Monkees Forever.
Could somebody play this for about 24 hours so it will be heard? So much truth in this song that we need to be aware of and to remember.
I am crying, I love this song, so true then and now, thank you for sharing Davey's voice!!! Miss you Peter too...Mickey, keep gong!!!
When I was young Peter Tork was my favorite Monkee (I am now in my 60’s) and he still touches my 💜 His tribute to Davey is wonderful
This is one of my very favorite songs by The Monkees. I really miss Davy and Peter.May they both Rest In Peace
And now Mike...
And then there was 1……
We love you Peter Tork. RIP.
On so many levels, this is one of the most beautiful things to have ever happened. Absolute sweet sorrow xxx
Hauntingly beautiful performance. The lyrics are chillingly relevant to what is going on in the world---especially in this country---today. Thank you, guys, for a very moving performance.
Such a haunting song. One of my favorite Monkee songs, and well done, Peter and Mickey!
Unending sorrow missing the incredibly talented Peter Tork. Love this song. With Davy gone too, I can only imagine how hard it is for Mickey. RIP friend.
Loved them as young men...love them as old men too. RIP. DAVY AND PETER.. ❤💖
We were here! Truer words were never spoken...or sung....Great show! Thank you for the memories guys, with love.

RIP Davy and Peter....love you and have listened to you all over the years...
Appropriate for our times now
This brings tears to my eyes. Simply beautiful.
One of the most touching moments of the current tour. I saw them in Northfield, OH and when they did this song there wasn't a dry eye in the house.
I was at the Northfield concert too! I was a mess during this song and daydream believer
Rest in Peace, Davy and Peter.
We miss you
Some of the most magical moments of the show are Daydream Believer and Shades of Gray. I hope they played i wanna be free too.... R.I.P Davy Jones . We lost a great actor and singer.
Je suis d'accord avec toi. Dave Jones and Peter Tork... merci beaucoup... R.I.P.

Song makes me see my past, my young, and to those no longer here. RIP Davey and Peter. We'll all be there soon enough.
What a beautiful tribute to Davy, to perform live "with him" as Davy sings the recorded lead vocal with videos/pictures of him on the big screen in background. Davy's band mates thought this through, and you can tell how much they cared for their missing friend. Very moving!
Why do we lose the best & keep the dross?
I was there I cried when they did this
Awesome, I love when they have different lead vocals within a song, wish they did that more often.
Best thing ever! I am biased about that.
This great song tells of my youth on sixties, in a relatively small city of Imatra in Finland.
No way can keep tears in..
Miss these guys!!!!!
Rest in peace peter you will be missed you and Micky were my favorite Monkees say hello to davy
Not a dry eye in the house. You can see how much they miss Davy. What a beautiful tribute!

I grew up with the monkeeys..I miss them so much :(
This is made even sadder looking at Micky's face while Davy was singing. What a great song. And made so much sadder with the vocals of Davy. But what a great job job.

It's been 4-1/2 years now, and it seems like yesterday. I really miss him and the others. God bless Micky.

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN
Wow this made me shed tears. Being able to see the youth of the Monkees to now the later years. Always appreciate what we have everyday, not when it's gone and now there's two.
