    Hey Linus! My grandpa developed the Nimslo camera at Timex in Dundee in the 80s. He died when my mum was 19 so I never knew him and the camera didn’t do very well on the market but it’s cool to learn all about the cameras themselves. Thanks for making this 😊

  • @robertmaxey5406

    Hey Linus. Look into Eastman Kodak and their lenticular process. Aimed at commercial applications, the camera had 6 or more lenses and the quality was vastly superior to everything else.

    Do you know if there are any current (or old but available) old school 3D cameras that will make stereoscope images rather than lenticular images? Had one in the 90s and loved it but it broke.

    • @robertmaxey5406

  • @robertmaxey5406

    Take no offence, but your video overlooks so many 35mm stereoscopic cameras that came way before Nimslo and their ilk. I remember using Nimslo with Kodachrome and half frame mounts.
    Many kids these days have no historical perspective and might thin the cameras you mentioned are all there is/was.
    You should take a deeper dive into the cameras that led to the cameras you discussed in your video. Perhaps even touch on View Master Personals, and such.

    Out of all of them nimslo is the best, glass lens, they are plastic and cheap

    • @linusandhiscamera
      @linusandhiscamera  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      nimslo’s seem to be the more expensive side in my research. i have one and the glass lens is nice, but since the shutter is electronic, that’s been an issue. it sometimes doesn’t open. in the grand scheme of things they’re all pretty cheaply made, but have an incredible function. the reto just might be the best option for people by default now because of its price!
