That's because it is a work of art. Not the most practical guitar in the modern world unless you are doing a lot of beatles covers, but I don't know many guitarists who wouldn't like one to just drool over!
Rickenbackers always seem to look more stylish than they are, and I find Gretsch also have a peculiarly compelling aspect. My 325 had a cruel Bridge but was darn solid. I reckon that you adapt or die. 🤘
Bernhard Pimmingstorfer. Is that a original 1964 Rickenbacker from 1964? If so how much did you pay for it ? because it's worth something like be worth like maybe $950,000 dollars if that's the real 1964 Rickenbacker how can you afford it's up to close to million dollars ?
Wow! Love the sounds you're getting out of your VOX amp and that beautiful ebony Rickenbacker, and I can tell you've done your homework on some of the early Beatles classics. Nice job Bernhard!
Hi man. Hey I've been a guitarist/bassist/Beatles fan since '82. I've paid a lot of attention to Lennon's rhythm playing... Paul's bass playing...all of it. They all had such a unique interesting sense of articulation...you know..digging into the strings. You got Lennon's strum pretty damn close. Can imagine having a lot of fun jamming Beatles stuff and trading stuff we've learned. When I get my channel up I'll look you up if you like :) Say...one thing..I'm sure you won't mind: Happy Just To Dance is C#m then F#m to G#...major not minor. Sounds stronger...and makes a difference to the way it resolves back to C#m.
Thank you for sharing your toys with the rest of the class Bernard! The AC50 breaks up quite nicely for a tasty, "THICK" (and COMMANDING!!!) rhythm sound! Cheers!
I had a '91 325, but my wife had me sell it to pay bills. She's gone and I am thinking about a 350. I have gone the Pep Box into Conqueror route, though I did add a couple V125s to drown out the complaints about Solid State tones.
Lennon, Fogerty, Cash - you're really got a good thing going! Great Rickenbacker tone! For strings, I don't use flat rounds as some others do. I use bright GHS Guitar Boomers: 50 36 26 18 15 11, through a Behringer V-Amp 3, with 32 amp emulations.
Nice video and you play very well. I am a big Beatles fan. Saved up money from my paper route in 1964 and saw them play in Milwaukee Wisconsin and Paid $6.00 for the ticket. Best $6.00 I ever spent.
Great, amazing, nature given talent. The more I see these videos from around the world the more I understand why none of the former Beatles came even close to making songs as good as what they did when they were in the band. Any Lennon's or McCartney's songs would be just good, ordinary songs without the other member's arrangements contribuitions. Few people could play rhytmn as tight as Lennon. McCartney's bass lines are just masterpieces and Harrison's riffs and solos are a gift to your ears. And what about Ringo's drumming? So perfect for the songs, very tight, nothing more, nothing less, no over playing. The band was a killing machine that has never been matched by anybody afterwards. The were and there are great bands, but the level of musicianship of the fab four is unparelled.
Your guitar playing is very amusing :D i like how you enjoy playing and singing without trying to sound like everyone from the beatles, it seems that you are just enjoying playing a guitar and an amp that john lennon used :D I love this video, so natural. :)
Bernhard Pimmingstorfer Could you tell me where you got your Rickenbacker 325c64. I was looking to get one but I'd have to order online and I wanted know which you might have got yours from and would recommend them
Aaron Trimble you know i am from austria so i had to order it because you can't get it in any music shop..bought it used from Rivington Guitars in New York City! Maybe you can order it from Thomann (Germany) ;) Good Luck :)
your so lucky dude you sound great man i wish we were friends id be asking you to play for me hay im willing to even pay i just love it so mutch and you play the beatles great and got the rickenbacker 325c64 ive never knew anybody with one there so exsensive even used anyhow great video hope you make more
Thwackety thwack thwack . . . that lo-fi Beatle sound is great. Other than drenching some of thier vocals in reverb it sounds like the Beatles didn't even use compressors in the studio. Supposedly Lennon used very heavy gauge strings on his Ric ( .12's-.14's ). You sound good, thanks for posting.
Great tones pal! Really enjoyed your video! I have a 66 AC50 also with a Defiant cab (Goodman's speakers and Middax horn). I've just bought a Rickenbacker 1997 so will do a video soon going over some sound clips. Be sure to check it out haha! regards :)
I find myself staring at that Rickenbacker like you would stare at a great painting.

I've seen hundreds of Rickie guys playing Beatle stuff, but this is the closest in sound, well done!
Thank you for this awesome comment :-)

Brother that was a great demo great technique and exact Lennon tone! Love it and this is coming from a huge Beatles fanatic!
I love these type of sounding guitars I want one but very expensive and used by one of the best guitar players and was in the best band in the world.
