Blue on blue responsible for 2/3 of your troop loss, line of sight pretty critical when setting up artillery, antitank and machine gun positions. Make sure your vehicles have stopped before checking out other AOs. All in all effective battle plan, for victory points.
One of my favorite parts about this game is capturing equipment. It feels so scrappy and tough -- and it's extremely realistic for the Finns. Loving this series!
It's actually pretty good. I didn't think it would be bad, but it's definitely surpassed expectations Interested in a longer campaign with better weaponry
a thing to note if you have not picked up on it yourself wheeled and tracked units prefer useing roads to move so in a defense any roads that move close to the objectiv will likey have almost all enemy vics go down it, but your own units will also path that way this has given me a bit of trouble in the past as my units have walked right in to the enemy while i tried to flank due to me not paying attention to the path the unit would take.
Love this adhock, personlized Video Series where you can follow a Units progression, up and downs through a campaign. Wolfpack, would you consider doing a longer campaign after this one? Also I live for your Submarine Videos. You make the atmosphere of those sneak attacks so great in your vids! You are one of the rare creators I have blessed with the Bell icon!
Hey Wolfpack, for playing finland I recommend save game editing similar to what I do in my campaigngs. There are tutorials on how to change vehicle crews in gates of hell. By editing the savegame you can add the credits necessary for a Finnish T26, put it into the same wave of deployment as the captured one and then you can switch the crews, delete the captured one with soviet markings and be left with a finnish marked T26 but with the veteran crew. It's a shame there is no mechanic that automatically changes the markings when you capture vehicles and use them the next round.
3:39 - Dear Mother, It's my first battle! We have to repel a soviet attack in the next half hour. We are getting dug in. I myself have been ordered to stand in front of an armored car bevause its firepower will give me protection. I'll let you know how it goes. Save a place in the family sauna for me. Your son, Tuomas
Love your style of narrative/gameplay, it's a brilliant approach that keeps the content fresh! Love how you keep your cool during stressful situations, all love dude keep it up!😊
When you can't get a good shot, just run them over! Great battle. I am loving this series. As you found out the flak guns can cause a lot of collateral damage. I would give them very clear lines of fire in order to minimize friendly fire accidents. It would have probably been better slightly offset on the road to the right of the objective. They also chew through ammo so having a supply crate or truck nearby really helps. At the end of the battle I would suggest moving your heavy guns near a supply crate or truck to resupply before you end the battle, otherwise they cost a lot of ammo in the campaign screen to resupply.
Finland is much more forested and russians did come in bigger groups. Those shouts sounded very authentic. I think this is the second best series of yours. But nothing beats the SH3.
I’ve been addicted to this game now because of this play though, and it’s like all the others are like lower quality than this and it’s not enough I’ve been waiting for this video
I guess shooting your own guys was letting them know there will be not retreating , and the poor guy you ran over didn't look both ways while crossing the road 🤣
TBH a T-26 isn't any better than a BA-10 armoured car bsides having tracks. The amour's about the same, the gun IS the same. All you're getting from the T-26 is better offroad performance and being a bit smaller. Which may or may not help, since it'll be easier to hide but having everyone inside a smaller box means rounds that get inside are probably more likely to kill someone.
Unfortunate mishap with the aa gun wolfie 😂 i think thats why they gave the guns their own sandbags, ive never found one that works unless its a big gun ❤engeneers are the best someone already mentioned hulled down tanks and gun emplacements are the best!
*the common myth of soviet doctrine.* Military History Visualized has some good videos debunking this myth, and he is German. It mostly stemmed from anti Soviet war propaganda that also went back to WW1, but stuck around as a myth of the giant hordes against the civilized German. The reality was the Soviets never fought with "human wave" type attacks in WW2 despite all the myths and media perpetuating it (looking at you enemy at the gates) The Soviets did fight aggressively with tanks, but that goes more into the strategic thinking of Soviet "deep operation" which actually was designed to minimize casualties long term, to avoid being caught in attritional fights that would benefit the Germans.
Really enjoying these battles! Artillery has always been king of the battlefield, since its inception. Nice to see its effectiveness in this game. Mortars, as well, of course.
i would personally research some better AT guns once you get your infantry full semi-auto rifles like gewehr 41s or svts. i dont know what's available but you should be able to get a pak 38 50mm right? maybe even a pak 41 75mm?
I see this game sanitizes the markings on the Finnish vehicles. Understandable because a lot of countries still don't like people displaying that symbol, more commonly associated with the nazi party, that Finland was also using at this time in history (though in blue, not black, and for different reasons). Indeed Finland themselves dropped the symbol after they switched sides in 1944 wanting to distance themselves from Germany.
It's likely moreso because showing the swastika is illegal in some countries unless it's in "art", and video games aren't recognized as such in most places. Pretty dumb since it's not really much different from a movie but that's how it is
The standard armoured swastika is black with faint white edges, the air force used blue swastika. For some reason crews did paint out-of-regulation blue swastikas on vehicles, though black was more common. The symbol was not dropped - unit markings switched to a common white-blue-white roundel, but swastika is actively still in use in Finland. President's flag has a golden one in the corner, fighter squadrons all have black ones and multiple medals also feature a swastika.
I googled telephone poles. The first telephone pole to be erected was done so in 1844 by a man named Samuel Morse, who had been compensated by the U.S. Congress to send messages.
Select a squad and then hold right click on a cover, while dragging the mouse. This will make the squad spread out and use different covers. The further you drag your mouse, the farther they will be from each other
I would advise to research the heavy engineers. They can build gun emplacements :)
:)
This series just feels better and different than other ones for some reason
cuz in the other ones everyone is screaming
i like the narrative he puts at the start of each video, at least personally, it keeps me engaged
Yeah its just nice
Blue on blue responsible for 2/3 of your troop loss, line of sight pretty critical when setting up artillery, antitank and machine gun positions. Make sure your vehicles have stopped before checking out other AOs. All in all effective battle plan, for victory points.
Best gates of hell series I’ve seen

Loving this series!
😂 That Maxim crew never saw it coming
I am going to be inconsolable when this series ends 😂
It's actually pretty good. I didn't think it would be bad, but it's definitely surpassed expectations
Interested in a longer campaign with better weaponry
SERIOUSLY THO
The episode where we discover that Wolfpack is actually a Soviet agent! 😅
"Oops" as he guns everyone down with "friendly" fire lol!
Yeah its a bit painful to watch
a thing to note if you have not picked up on it yourself wheeled and tracked units prefer useing roads to move so in a defense any roads that move close to the objectiv will likey have almost all enemy vics go down it, but your own units will also path that way this has given me a bit of trouble in the past as my units have walked right in to the enemy while i tried to flank due to me not paying attention to the path the unit would take.

Awesome series, love the Finns because they scavenged equipment all the time and the game plays right into that.

Your son,
Tuomas
11:25 That kill feed dude, holy f*** 🤣🤣🤣🤣
3:45 You forgot to say "pardon me" before driving forward
A wonderful defense, as usual but you ran over Simo Hayha at 3:43. His groan at 3:43 still haunts me to this day. 😢
Blue on blue was comical this episode
Please keep playing this game. This is great!
I'm loving this series! That T-26 loss kinda hurt tho :l
8:56 that's some unfortunate friendly fire. lol. Love this series!
Enjoying this a lot as a prelude to an inevitable purchase. Thank you.
lovely jubbly. the moment the snow starts speaking finnish
Think you should get another 20mm. They have been proved effective against light armor and infantry
Yeah, his dead troops can attest to that lol
@@Altair1243WAR yea 😂
Finally a new Gates of Hell Video
Man, Im subscribed to you since Finland part 2, and all what can I say, is that you are my favourite youtuber!
Been looking forward to another upload of this. Cheers mate
Just bought this. I cant even get the game to start. Most complicated game I've ever seen in my life just to make it go.
Loving this series. Would love to see more episodes sooner.
Love your style of narrative/gameplay, it's a brilliant approach that keeps the content fresh!
Love how you keep your cool during stressful situations, all love dude keep it up!😊
Wolfpack going full Red Alert infantry squish at the end.
i really like the scratch-built nature of your forces. stealing equipment must have been a big thing back then
When you can't get a good shot, just run them over! Great battle. I am loving this series.

T-26 gets hyped up only to advance foolishky to it's doom 😅

The RoF of the 20mm is insane
Wolfpack's commentary is so relaxing.
That 20 just deleting whole squads of infantry at a time...
Oh I really am excited to see those artillery strikes.
I do hope you will start a long campaign at one point.
Really like watching this game👍
8:25 - "I get knocked down..."
8:30 - "but I get up again."
8:32 - ☠️

Those aa guns really need their own ammo create. It rocked after you relocated it!
Unfortunate mishap with the aa gun wolfie 😂 i think thats why they gave the guns their own sandbags, ive never found one that works unless its a big gun ❤engeneers are the best someone already mentioned hulled down tanks and gun emplacements are the best!
Yes. Vickers 6 ton. Looking forward to seeing it in action.
great to see you put those stolen machines to good use!

My man is experiencing the Soviet doctrine :D
*the common myth of soviet doctrine.* Military History Visualized has some good videos debunking this myth, and he is German. I hope you continue posting these videos and even more regularly!
Loved that Maxim kill in the end :D
Holy shit the sound that guy made when he got run over😂
Really enjoying the series. Keep up the good work!
Really enjoying these battles! Artillery has always been king of the battlefield, since its inception. Nice to see its effectiveness in this game. Mortars, as well, of course.
Was just thinking about this, then I get home from work and see a new video. Nice

We love you Wolfpack!
(Hears loud crunch and squish)
Did we hit something comrade?🤷♂️🤷♀️🤷
Fridays are Wolf Days.
So anyone can be run over at will if they're "unimportant"? You monster. 🤣
Good Job, looking forward to the next
Another amazing video, id love to see a huge series of this and also eagerly awaiting flamers
Finally a new episode :D

Great defense loved it
Loving the series a lot!
Excellent video once again!
Great job
Too bad you can't get the white death. That guy's a menace
Hope you do a longer American conquest when Liberation comes out!
13:14 must have been a Battlefeild by EA medic.
You literally killed more of your men than the enemy did. XD
the blood and gore mod is pretty neat
Yeah winter massacre definitely sums this up! Heavy lossee on both sides! They massacred my boy the T26! I was rooting for him.
8:53 - Dear Mother…
Rly enjoying this series keep up the gj !
The T 28 is quite good
Well if you could sell it that whould be better, that way you could get the stuff you DO want.
8:52 Mistakes were made XD
I hope you unlock those Finnish Jagers because I promise they'll be good.
I love this ❤
Badass mission!
This game reminds me of the men of war series of games.

*impending advance of the soviets 😉
Do all the Gates of Hell games have this kind of campaign? With the persistent army and all that?
Nice battle!
I googled telephone poles. The first telephone pole to be erected was done so in 1844 by a man named Samuel Morse, who had been compensated by the U.S. Congress to send messages.
I’m trying to play this game myself, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how he makes the soldiers spread out and take cover
When you right click them into cover, hold right click and drag the mouse. The further you drag the more spacing.
Right click and drag. In cover it works the same way, they will spread out in the cover.
Select a squad and then hold right click on a cover, while dragging the mouse. This will make the squad spread out and use different covers. The further you drag your mouse, the farther they will be from each other
yes yes more more
Oooooops. 🎵"Move, Fin, get out the way
Get out the way, Fin, get out the way" 🎵
wished they didnt use the doctrine stuff to summon units, kinda wished they kept the one that mowas2 used
More more more
متى ستكون اسلسل القادم من war on the sea
Does this game model morale? All that friendly fire would take a serious toll.
Do you really find that the medical tent is useful? Also why use a tank crew that is lightly armed when anybody can drive a tank?
🙌🙌
You said "impeding," but meant "impending."
