I HAVE USED YAMALUBE 10 40 IN ALL MY BIKES,NEVER HAD CLUTCH ISSUES,I PREFER THIS TO CHEMICAL OIL AS I CHANGE IT AND FILTER EVERY 4000 MILES.AFTER 73,000 MILES DOES NOT BURN A DROP OF OIL AND STILL RUNS LIKE NEW.I HAVE A FRIEND WITH 85,000 TOO AND HE USES YAMALUBE.I THINK ALL THE MOTORCYCLE OILS ARE FINE AS LONG AS YOU CHANGE REGULARLY.GOOD LUCK,Windy
Great advice, and your collection is proof of that. I too, tried regular oil in one of my bikes and had the exact same thing happened. As far as not overfilling goes, my grandfather used to make me tip his rototiller over so he could fill the crankcase with oil. He used to make me bring it down in his basement after every use, and it leaked oil from every seal, and made a puddle where it sat. No amount of me telling him what the problem was, would change his mind.
Just got my first bike 1981 gs1100e .....is a electrical nightmare 😳 bought a mint main harness for a 82........ yeah expensive mistake... Learning lol. Grat video
If you get gas in the oil drain the oil.Usually the sight glass will be FULL or OVERFULL. Find the leaky carb and fix the leak, usually the viton tip is the cause. Put NEW OIL in and run for a few min before reving the motor or riding it. CHEAP INSURANCE,now change oil and put fresh oil and new filter.
Thanks so much for the video! I've got a 1983 Suzuki GS750E and am getting the bike ready for the spring and summer riding season. This was really helpful, as I'm a beginner to DIY maintenance.
Shane Alldredge I recently got a 1983 GS750E. It’s been a beautiful ride so far but am having some trouble getting it started after the winter in storage. Windy’s videos have been helpful to take care of a bunch of maintenance issues.
Hi, I was wondering if anybody can help me out. My carburetors were leaking and I think it got into the crankcase. I obviously dont want to start it up to get it to operating temperature. So, is there any harm in changing the oil on a cold engine i have a gs650.
