In Excel, you can move columns around by selecting the whole column and clicking the edge of the selection (cursor will show four arrows) while holding shift and then you can drag it to where it needs to be (same as smartsheet).
Yes, that is a great point in which I missed. I do like how you can move the columns in SS by just click and drag, but you can definitely do the same in excel with Shift key and then click it drag.
Hi! If your smartsheet is in Gantt View, you just go to "File" (Top Left of screen), scroll down to "Export" and it will give you a few different options for Export, one of which is "Export To Microsoft Project (XML)"
@@workflowmyworkload Yes . i did the same but MPP file was not updated with all the filed or data as per smart sheet. exported only Task Name, Duration, start, Finish, & predecessor . I need all the field as per the Smartsheet
I will admit I was leaning more towards Smartsheet simply because it’s a project management tool, which my career uses everyday. Excel is used more to hold large amounts of data which you can build pivots, tables, etc off of. Smartsheet is used for project management in spreadsheet form as well but also has the communication aspect and automations with it. Both tools have their place, it depends on what you really need it for.
Thanks! I’ll be putting out a video every week about Smartsheet-if you have any questions on Smartsheet that you want to know let me know and I can make a video on it
Kinda funny and biased. Here's Smartsheet with large font and pretty colors. Here's Excel with tiny font and no colors. LOL Still don't know what I can use Smartsheet for to bother learning it
You can use Smartsheet to automatically send alerts to teammates when criteria is met, dashboards are easier to set up, you can create forms that feed into the sheets, you can have entire project templates spin up automatically, Gantt chart creation using existing data from one click of a button, have sheets roll up into Reports that are dynamic. That’s just a few things on the top of my head that Smartsheet does that excel does not. Excel is a spreadsheet tool. Smartsheet is a project management tool with spreadsheets being just one of the many assets in its arsenal.
I'm now at company #3 that has gone to Smartsheet and exited Smartsheet. It does certain things better but Excel in combination with other Microsoft Apps is much better.

Hlw sir,. Can I use samrtsheet for data analysis job?
Yes absolutely! You can plug in your data, and then capture trends from a metric sheet that pumps into a graph on your dashboard.
If you want I can create a very basic sheet that shows this concept so you see how Smartsheet would work in that capacity.
Very nice summary
Glad you liked it!👍🏽
How to convert Smartsheet in to Microsoft Project file?

this should've been more a review of smart sheet rather than a comparison of the based on the bias.
