    I bought one a month ago. Great for around the house stuff, like assembling furniture that's delivered in cardboard boxes to your house. TV stands, end tables, BBQ grills, etc. It's better than a sore wrist from using a hand-held screw driver all day, and it doesn't over drive screws like a traditional drill or impact driver would.

    Its like a baby M12 Installation drill/driver. Adorable.

    Interesting video for me to watch. I am a professional carpenter and I own only one Ryobi tool . A 4 volt screwdriver that I purchased in I believe 2010, Actually a lithium battery, very slow charging, but I love it. Serves a good purpose. When I need something that will save my wrist for multiple screws it's amazing. Great for cover plates on electric outlets. Still holds a good charge. My one ryobi!

      We love hearing these type of stories. Being a professional carpenter, you probably have many more "expensive" tools, but you also have a 10+ year old ~$20 tool that you have a need for. It's not always the biggest, more powerful, more expensive tools; it's the solution to your problem. Thanks for sharing.

      Also a carpenter but got the 4 piece kit for my 3d printed props. Tired of carrying my tools in and out.

    Looks like a great little tool for its intended use. Low torque, slow speed is perfect for those smaller screws and such.
    Thanks for the video and review brother.

    If I didn't already have an equivalent.... I'd likely be interested in this tool, or a 90° version would be more applicable to what I normally see on my current job. Sometimes, you really to just be able to pull the trigger at arms length and not need to be concerned with overtorque of a particular fastener.

  • @gf2e
    @gf2e 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    It's only a single speed, is that right? I have the Bosch installation driver and one thing I love about it is how slow you can go - easy to install screws in soft particle board, for example. If this were able to go really slowly, then I'd be interested. But fixed speed, nah, the Bosch is great.

    • @betods1013

      I have the Bosch instalation driver as well. Its my favorite tool. Use it for everything. I agree 100%......the trigger control is better than any other drill. I can make it go as slow as I like.

    • @Shoptoolreviews

      This is not comparable to that Bosch installation driver; that's a geat solution and more expensive. This is a much simpler version of that. Thanks for watching.

      @@Shoptoolreviews Agreed. This Ryobi is great for DIY. For exampe changing out electrical outlets, fixing cabinets, ceiling fans, etc. I love my Bosch (and several impacts), but I'm getting this Ryobi for the tasks mentioned.

    I have the previous 4v version and it is very handy for it's intended purposes however the drawback was it only has 18lbs/ft torque. This newer one is over double the torque at 55lbs/ft so looks like I will buy the newer one at the next sale and donate my current one. (EDIT, I THINK THE HIGHER TORQUE IS AN ERROR ON HOME DEPOTS SITE AS ONE MODEL SHOWS THE HIGHER TORQUE WHILE THE OTHER OPTION SHOWS THE LOWER TORQUE)

    • @Shoptoolreviews
      @Shoptoolreviews  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, that's a misprint. There is no way this thing has 55 ft-lbs of torque. Thanks for watching.

    Yes I show $83.00 but has extra batteries. However 70% of Ryobi and other tool brands are not available in Home Depot / other stores there ship to store or ship to your house only. They might make more money if they had them in store.

    MUCH better than the FVD50. Ive got that and its hot garbage. Very anemic and it will stall out and go into protection mode if you push it too hard. Then you have to wait 5 seconds for it to reset. Even just driving machine screws into cases would freak it out. Too bad it doesnt have an adjustable torque clutch and locking bit to keep small drill bits in place. Still cant find an equivalent to my old 7v dewalt driver in the same basic form factor. :(

  • @yamahschector
    @yamahschector 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I do not like it. I bought it for working on RC cars. My problem is that it not speed controlled with the power switch. It’s just on or off. Biggest failure with it the direction select switch is in the wrong position. I choke up to the grove on the top of the handle and it feels good but then I hit the direction switch causing the selector to be bumped into a dead spot not being able to be powered.

    Considering how weak sauce some of Ryobi’s screwdrivers were in the past, I actually think this thing was pretty torquey for a single cell 3.7V tool.

    • @Shoptoolreviews
      @Shoptoolreviews  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is definitely torquey for a 3.7V, but it does have limitations. it's not going to drive a 3" screw or tighten a nut to 25 ft-lbs. Seems great for a tool in your desk or for disassembling electronics and interior pieces. Thanks for watching.
