I like to use mini ink pads if they have raised felt because i can ink the whole thing and it savrs space. I recommend the sets og memento dew drop pads. Some big box stores sell them. I thi k i got mine from Joann fabrics. I purchase reinkers online from joanns when they have their stamp stuff 40%off. Ive been using them for over 10 years. The shape make it easy to do multi color inking too. The memento ink wont run with alcohol markers too!
Thank you for the tips, Lindsay! I haven't been to Joann's in forever. The nearest one to me is in Waterville, which is almost 45 minutes away. I never even thought to shop there online! I will definitely look into that and keep my eyes open for deals!
The watercolour books and blocks, the Academy ones, both in hot pressed, and in cold pressed are really good quality. I have bought and used them with both watercolours and gouache. Plus the Baohong blocks that Temu sell are very good as well. Definitely worth the money.
I have the metallic watercolors, they are lovely and great for accents. The water holder works but you can't move it around or it does leak. It is fiddly.
I love the metallic watercolors! I think an issue with the water holder is that my studio is in an old building, so the floors aren't very level anymore.
Be aware they also sell canvas artworks that are poor quality and stolen from artists without their permission. A friend of mine is currently trying to get one of her artworks removed from their website, it’s being sold for less than £2 😢
@@D4Short520 I am a Stampin UP! demo and the number of our stamps that show up- often before available to buy is just horrendous and cuts into our business big time!
Yeah, it's a definite possibility that it's because my floor isn't level lol. There's a good chance this thing would not work well in any part of my studio.
I have also got one of those and mine is fine and doesn't do what yours did, lol think yours must have been dodgy. remember temu also do accept free returns.
I have the metallic paints and they're surpisingly good. So good I bought all of the variations. I really enjoy using them, especially the golds, and sometimes I mix them with Winsor and Newton paints for the shimmery mica effect. I don't really enjoy using them translucent, and I always use them in their most concentrated form possible.
I have been using stampin up ink spots, dew drops and tim holtz mini ink pads etc for yrs. They are great for distressing edges and taking places. Like others have said stamp pad on the stamp. I have been using the brush cleaning for a yr. First time we used it, my daughter didnt get the seal on correctly. Once she adjusted, it's worked perfectly.
Great video!! Very helpful too. I have the brush water cleaner and absolutely love it! You may have received one that doesn't seal well or something. I've never had any problems with mine.
Sometimes better to let cheap paint activate longer before swatch, for stronger pigments. Also why not swatch the one colour on both paper types before moving onto the next colour, 50% less brush cleaning that way.
That paint brush washer reminds me of the Spiralizer I just HAD to have. I have it, it would make my life easy, do I use it? Not since I got it years ago hahahahah
I didn't check to see if anyone said this, but the meeden and baohong are the same company. The baohing is artist but really, they're both artist grade. The baohong artist is just slightly better but the academy hot press is one of my favs
I have that same brush cleaner! I found it frustrating, too! Can't get the water to come out slower. I tried partially plugging up the hole with some tape. Gotta try something different. Nice haul! M. Graham and Qor are looser paints so I don't use them in a travel palette. Learned my lesson the hard way. You have to keep the palette upright during your travel-time and I totally fail in that department...every time....lol I have the same little travel palette and love using it when I can- it's also my favorite Temu item I've bought. I have it filled with Daniel Smith right now. But any paint that doesn't use honey and whatever the binder is in Qor. I have totally spaced on the name of it, but it's Qor's proprietary so I wouldn't think you have to worry about running across it in other paints. Gouache is another option. I have a dried M. Graham. palette and I love using it. They are a great gouache to dry. On a side note, I tried to keep them in a sealed palette and they molded like crazy on me. Pretty sure it's the honey in them that causes that. At any rate, I love supporting US businesses which is why I've worked so hard to find a way to keep using them.
Good point!! I wasn't even thinking of the fact that the M. Graham are honey-based, even though I knew this and know to store my larger palette of them upright! It just didn't cross my mind while filming this. I didn't realize that Qor have a similar issue, I have tubes of them and haven't tried to put them in a palette yet, so that's good to know! I don't have enough of the Daniel Smith yet to use those, but they are lovely paints. I think I may just end up using my Holbein. I have them in a larger travel palette and have never had an issue with them, and I love using them. I didn't realize M. Graham has gouache!! I'm definitely going to have to look into that at some point! I use my Holbein Gouache in my stay wet palette and have never had any issues with molding since they use very little fillers!
Not all Qor colors are equal in the migrating department. I think it was the ultramarine pink that ended up all over my palette. Nothing was as bad as that one. I love my M. Graham gouache, but, I do keep Holbein in a stay wet palette also and have been storing them in the fridge. I am glad to hear that you haven't had any molding issues! I didn't realize that they didn't have much in the way of fillers. I am enjoying using them.
Hmm..that's interesting about the Qor, I will definitely have to keep that in mind! Yeah, the Holbein Artists' Gouache is amazing. They rely on the opacity and matte qualities of the pigments themselves. They don't add any whitening agents to get the matte look, so the colors are more pure, and they have fewer issues with molding and discoloration.
Thanks for sharing, I have a few of the same supplies fr Temu and I'm very happy w the products ( the small wooden palette- got the 15 and 18 well and the small watercolor journal - got 2 🎉
I'm definitely going to be going back and getting another (heck, probably more than one) little sketchbook at some point! I'm really happy with the quality for the price! I didn't even realize they offered different well counts on the wooden palette! That's cool! I am happy that most products seem to offer different options! Thanks for watching!
The academy is said to be the student range to the baohong paper. I bought the small wooden pallet & after a little time the pans & mixing plate came out, just use some double sided tape & no problem
Someone else mentioned that it could leak if the surface it's on isn't level. My studio space is old, and the floors slant a bit, I'm thinking that could be what caused it.
I've always thought those weird viral water pots looked awful and don't fix any sort of issue. It takes up less room, is easier to clean brushes and is less messy to just have a jar of water
Seriously though. I agree. I tried it to see what all the hype was about, but I should have just stuck with my first instinct and not even bothered with it.
I also bought the 24 set of small stamp pads for 1 reason....to run them over embossed images....from what I've learned...more control with a smaller inkpad. Hope this tip helps. Enjoying your haul.🙂
Perhaps a video testing the TEMU Return/Refund policy would be in order. They do offer refunds within 90 days of purchase. I would really like to know if they actually honor that promise. I bought the metallic watercolor paint set, but haven't tried it out yet. I'm glad to hear you like it. On your recommendation, I will pick up some of the hot press watercolor paper. Thanks for the art supplies review.
It would be interesting to see how they deal with returns. I didn't bother with returning stuff, just because I didn't want the hassle if I had to send things back lol. But, I agree, it would interesting to know. I really enjoyed the watercolors and paper though, so, I hope you enjoy them too when you get to use them!
I have returned quite a few items for various reasons. Depending on the item, they will ask you to return but they supply you with a postage label online so you just pop the item/s back in package (inside out), stick the label on and post. No postage cost. Once you’re a regular customer, they usually just refund and don’t require you to return. They are super fast refunding.
Academy IS Baohong, it's their student line, and is a really great cheaper alternative for 100% cotton paper. Even their artist line is relatively cheap, and I've heard it really isn't that different from their student line, either way I'd love to try them out as well.
It just looked sooo sweet the way you tried to use the stamp pad. It actually does not matter how small or big the stamp pad is. You do it the other way around. The stamp I have on the table and then I tip with the stamp pad until the stamp has got color all over. Then you can stamp. Great video!!
Haha, yeah, I know, I don't stamp very often (clearly). I have been buying stamps here and there over the past few years but never really had stamp pads and just used markers. Had I actually been doing a project, I would have figured it out, but where I was just trying to do a quick test to keep the video moving along it didn't come to me in the moment. Everybody has been commenting on that part, I must look like a crazy dingbat, but I swear, it would have come to me eventually! 😂😂😂 Thank you for watching! Lol
Oh, cool! I haven't heard of those ink pens before. They do remind me a bit of a pen more than a mechanical pencil. Thank you for watching, I'm glad you liked it!
Their knockoff Lamy pens work great too and they’re so cheap! I’ve got both the real ones and the Temu ones and I wouldn’t know the difference just writing with them.
Yes, I know. It was just a quick demo, so I didn't think too far into it at the moment. Regardless, the ink wasn't very good for what I would need it for. So, I won't be using them anyway. I gave them to my niece.
Double check your seals on the paint brush cleaner and make sure your table is level as it is a gravity flow item. I've seen many hauls with these and no issues.
The thing with the water thing is u have to make sure it has a perfect seal around the tank or it’ll keep going. Take the lid off and go round the seal inside the lid to make sure its as far in as it can. Also if its not on a perfectly flat table it will keep going till it reaches level. Its the level of the water and the reservoir that stops the water flowing. When u get it sorted it is awesome and works so well. Honestly stick with it its worth it. I adore mind now I’ve fixed it. Hth
Thank you for the tips! It's definitely possible that the surface it was on wasn't level enough. The desk itself is new, but the space I am in is older, and the floor slants, so that could definitely be part of it! Lol.
I bought travel watercolor brushes that came in a leather like case The quality were unbelievable no one believes me when I tell them I got them from Temu!
I have never purchased art supplies from Temu...... yet. I have, however, purchased all sorts of other things over the past year or two. I have been constantly happy with there products. This last haul I had one item damaged and one that didn't work. First time ever. I filled out there return form and had an instant refund into my account with no need to return the item. Darn, was I in shock. I have always paid through a third party ie PayPal or after pay, for bank details security.
Yeah, I have been hearing that they have a really good return policy! I also paid using a 3rd part payment option for security reasons. Thanks for sharing your experience with us!
Those stamp pads work great if you apply the ink to the stamp, not trying to press the stamp on pad. For larger stamps just tap the ink around on your stamp. Good luck!
Have ordered from Temu several times. Have frequently found same item on Amazon being sold by associate. Suspect same company. Never had any problems with Temu.
If you turn the stamp rubber side up and tap lightly over the stamp with the small inkpad, you should get a much better result! This small square size is great for inking even the largest stamp. And if you have the stamp with the rubber side up, you can really see how much ink you are putting on, so you don't get a gloppy image!
Yeah, this was just a quick test, and I just didn't think of it in the moment. Lol. I will definitely do that if I work with a small pad for a future project!
FYI, the water tank is not vacuum released. It's gravity fed, every time you move the tank it releases water and that's why you're well is overflowing. You can't move it. It has to stay stationary and it works fine.
Yeah, I think one of my biggest issues is that my floors aren't level. My studio is in an older building. So even when I kept it still, it kept overflowing because it wasn't on level surface.
I love, love Temu...been spending a load of money on the site...there is nothing like it. I also use Amazon but I go to Temu especially for my art supplies.
I couldn't do that as easily with the stamp I was using because it has a handle on it. It was just a quick test to see the ink anyway. Smaller pads have less ink overall, so they won't last as long, which is a reason I prefer them be larger. Regardless of the size, I wasn't a huge fan of the type of ink it was anyway. If I end up getting small stamp pads in the future, I will use that technique, though.
If you turn the canister around on your brush cleaner it will work. It has a slanted opening and the slant has to be the right direction. I love mine. I have the same one.
I tried putting it together multiple ways. This was the only way I could get it to fit together, and it leaked to the high heavens. I looked at the instructions, and I looked like everything was put in correctly, so I don't know if I got a dud or what. Not worth the frustration for me lol.
@@CautionArtistatPlay It is possible you got a bad one but mine leaks if the canister that holds the water that sets on top is set on backwards it will leak....which leads me to believe that is the problem with the one you got. On the bottom of the canister...the top piece that holds water....is a slanted nozzle and it will fit on the wrong way and leak. If the short part of the slant is toward the end with the button, it will leak all the water out and not stop. Mine will tend to stick the rubber button shut which I have to gently push before each use and I only use it for watercolor. It is actually a handy little device but I think because of the canister, it is getting a lot of bad reviews and they need to make it clearer to put the canister on the right way.
It's possible that's what happened, I tried to put it on in the opposite direction initially but it didn't seem to fit that way, which how I settled on the way it was in the video. I ended up getting rid of it because I was so frustrated, so I can't try it again now. But thank you for your insight and for taking the time to explain. It might help someone else who is having a similar issue!
The stamp inks you purchased are not great ones (I bought some), but they are heavier because they are "pigment" inks. Dye inks look more like markers. Also the small cubes are fine if you don't push the stamp into the pad, but hold the pad and tap the pad all over the raised parts of the stamp.
Yeah, had I actually been concentrating on doing a project l, I would have thought to use the pad on the stamp and not the other way around. I just had too much going on while filming, lol. Everyone had been commenting on it, and really, I'm not that numb, I was just having a moment. Haha! The ink was definitely not my cup of tea, though, so I ended up giving them to my niece, lol.
I have some in my cart on there! I will get some next time, lol. Incidentally, after I filmed this, I looked a bit closer, and this paper was also made by Baohong. I don't know how I didn't notice that while ordering, lol. I'm guessing this is supposed to be the student grade, hense the academy label. I'm curious to compare the two once I get the other kind!
The brush washer works just fine. You just have to remember it must be kept on a very level surface. I had the same experience you had until I realized my desk top was not level. Leveled it up and the tank no longer leaked and held the water for weeks.
You press to hard on the ink pad, put your stamp on the table and turn the ink pad upside down, but don't press to hard, cause there is a lot of ink in a new pad. Use small once all the time.
Also I love mine. Yours doesn’t seem to be sealing properly. Maybe it’s defective. All you have to do is tell Temu there’s a problem (via the rate this product review) and they will more than likely refund your money. You are allowed to return 1 item, I think each purchase. They have told me to keep everything that wasn’t right or broken so far. Nothing really expensive. So sorry this is so long. They have another kick back program call adjusted price. They will tell what went down in price and credit your account. Sometimes it’s pennies but it adds up. It’s not automatic you have to click the button.
Yeah, I wasn't thinking clearly when I was testing the stamp pads because I had so much going on. It was just a quick test, I would use different techniques during an actual project. I still wasn't a fan of the milky consistency of some of them, I ended up giving them to my niece.
I found the refillable brush rinser to be more of a hassle than it's worth. I bought it from the company that originally made it. I imagine they're all about the same. You end up changing the water pretty frequently, and mine leaks :/
Yeah, I think even if mine didn't leak, it would have been annoying to have to keep filling all the time. I think the concept is better than the execution.
I know. It took me forever to take the plunge and buy from them. My husband had gotten a few things that he liked, so I finally decided to do it. I'm still not sure how I feel about it.
The ink pads look like pigment inks and not the best way to ink a stamp is the way you demonstrated it, so the quality of the stamp pads could be shown to be better
Let’s face it. Everything is made in China these days. I’ve purchased items on Amazon and the exact item on Temu for substantially less money. Temu will refund any item you didn’t like or was damaged. Same return policy as Amazon.
I just have an issue with a company that steals from artists and portrays them as their own. You also must think about the money that you save verses the money that you spend on products that don't work, are low quality or those that don't meet your purpose. I do realize most artists are on a budget, but I hate to see artists work so hard on their creations only to have them stolen.
Cheap copies of artists and companies products. Wouldn't touch them. Interesting they are sponsering so many artists you tube. The 'artists' should know better. Also notice the magnetic pallete keeps slipping apart when she picks it up,
I wasn't sponsored by them. I have never had any communication with this company. I bought the stuff with my own money so I could test the products for my viewers who may have been thinking about shopping there. Don't shop there if you don't want to. But since it is a popular place right now, and some of my core audience had shown interest in shopping there, I figured I would try some things so I could let people know if it was worth it. Which is why I had no issue expressing my opinions about the products that I thought were crap.
I was told that Temu is offering items at low prices to get a serious following, while taking your personal information. Be guarded - it is a Chinese company. I will pay Amazon’s reasonable prices to stay safe with an American company.
Nope, I definitely bought all of this with my own money. I wouldn't know what Temu requires people to say, I have never spoken to them. I know they have been reaching out to artists, but they haven't reached out to me. I have seen other artists say in their videos that they got their stuff from Temu for free. I'm not sure who has lied about it. If someone reached out to me and gave me supplies for free, I would say so. If a company required me to lie to my audience, I wouldn't work with them. Period. Clearly, you have never seen my other videos if you think I would do that. I always tell my community when I am using art supplies that were given to me. Honesty is big on my channel. I don't need to lie to people for freebies. I'm not hard up.

Not m Graham. They have honey in them and don’t dry
Hi they definitely do refund. In fact they tell you to keep the item then put your refund into your account within a day
Good to know! Thanks!
I have gotten some of their acrylics and they weren't too bad. The white that I bought on Temu actually works better then my Arteza
Oh, that's cool to know! I didn't dare to try their acrylics or oils because I was worried the quality would be awful. Lol
Lol
😘@@CautionArtistatPlay
Tap the ink pad on to the stamp it works a lot better
Thank you for a fun haul=3
Thanks for watching!! 😊
The colored pencil/markers have barrels that are pretty much looking like the "Lamy" brand ink pens. Thank you for this super cool Temu haul review.
Take the pad to the stamp. Dab the pad around the surface of the stamp.
Yes, I know. It was just a quick demo, so I didn't think too far into it at the moment. Regardless, the ink wasn't very good for what I would need it for. So, I won't be using them anyway. I gave them to my niece.
Hi! New Subscriber 😊....thanks for the wonderful reviews...so, so helpful!! ☺
Hello there! Welcome to the channel and thanks for subscribing! I'm glad you have been enjoying my content!!
Double check your seals on the paint brush cleaner and make sure your table is level as it is a gravity flow item. I've seen many hauls with these and no issues.
I have those coloring pencils and didn't know there was a gum inside until this video 😂
😂😂😂 We learn something new every day! Thanks for watching!
Ooooooooh I loved my Watercolors from Temu! They Were Fabulous!!!!
I also bought the little square sketchbook from Temu. So far I love it.
It's one of my favorite things from this haul! I have already put another in my cart! Lol
@@CautionArtistatPlay it might be one of my go to sketchbooks from now on.
I'm glad to hear that, I can't wait to fully have the chance to work in it!
I saw this the temuu brush cleaner reviewed by another artist. It did not overflow, it worked well. Maybe yours has a defect.
You need to ink the stamp the other way up. You can use small lnk pads to ink up any size stamp. Ink to stamp not stamp to ink pad.
use the inkpads as sponges and sponge across the stamp. They'll work fine.
I love, love Temu...been spending a load of money on the site...there is nothing like it. I also use Amazon but I go to Temu especially for my art supplies.
I'm glad you have had good experiences with them!
100% cotton pads and journals are so good. Customer service is also stellar.
You put the stamp stamp side up on table then holding ink pad dab ink onto the stamp. So it really doesn't matter about ink size.
Good to know! Thanks!
I have the same one, works great was a little tricky getting it together but once everything was tight works a treat.
Academy is Baohung’s student grade paper. Wonderful paper.
If you haven't yet tried the Baohong paper, 👍you definitely should
I have some in my cart on there!
Haha, I'm not sure I have a surface that's level enough. The desk is new, the floor in my studio is what slants! 😂😂😂
You've probably already filled the wee pallette, but if you haven't, avoid honey based paints in it, especially as you want to use it plein air.
I haven't done it yet, but I have thought about that. I'm going to avoid putting my M. Graham in there for that reason! Lol
I have those paints. I like them. 2.99 free shipping. great bargain.
I lost it over the water ETERNAL dispenser
😂😂😂
Too bad a loose page or 2 isn't send with the material covered sketch pads for swatching colors on.
That would be nice!
You press to hard on the ink pad, put your stamp on the table and turn the ink pad upside down, but don't press to hard, cause there is a lot of ink in a new pad. Use small once all the time.
I use a tray under my water brush cleaner because I’m messy.
Good idea!
@user-us7pp5hd7n good to know, thanks!
You can return anything you don’t like. Most of the time they will tell you to keep the product & they will refund your money.
Good to know! Thanks!
Press the ink pad on the stamp, instead of stamp on pad. That way you can see how much ink transfer to stamp.
Temu is so inexpensive I love it. I'm sure the stuff is made in a Chinese sweat shop by children but oh well......
5ese little ones can work good on stamps.
She is so cute, lol :)
Try tapping the ink pad over the stamps so you cover all of it. You shouldn’t press so hard as that makes the color over load the stamp
Yeah, I wasn't thinking clearly when I was testing the stamp pads because I had so much going on. It was just a quick test, I would use different techniques during an actual project. I still wasn't a fan of the milky consistency of some of them, I ended up giving them to my niece.
Bc colored pencils' points all screw in, change them around. You can make them more true to life.
I'll have to play around with them and see if I can come up with a combination I like better.
You don’t need larger ink pads for your stamps hun, turn your stamps over and use your ink to cover the stamp completely then stamp with it.
I know, I know, I wasn't thinking clearly because I had so much going on. 😂😂😂
I want to start ordering stuff from temu Here sometime like beads, art supplies and etc like pens, coloring books.
The ink on amazon is the same size.
Good to know! Thank you!!
The reason it's so taped up is because customs opens up package, inspects contents and then tapes it up again and sends it on its way.
Yeah, that makes sense! I didn't think of that at the time!
Take the ink TO the stamp and ink all over the stamp image. Any size ink pad will work on any size stamp. Always.
Yes, many have pointed that out. Lol. It was just a quick test, and I wasn't thinking straight because I had so much going on. Lol
@@CautionArtistatPlay ah, crap.. well, no worries! You have a new subscriber! ❤️
@alohamama01 Thank you so much! Welcome aboard!! 💖💖💖
Not you complaining about the similar colours’ in the palette you paid $4 for. 😂😂😂
Fun! Temu is definitely good for certain items.
I like temu. They're great at return also.
I know I know it’s terrible to support Temu but I have already ordered 2 shipments from Temu. Art and stationery supplies.😛
I know. It took me forever to take the plunge and buy from them. My husband had gotten a few things that he liked, so I finally decided to do it. I'm still not sure how I feel about it.
Put the lid on your red pen!
At those prices I shudder to think what the working conditions and pay must be like for the people who work there :(
😕 it does make you wonder...
The ink pads look like pigment inks and not the best way to ink a stamp is the way you demonstrated it, so the quality of the stamp pads could be shown to be better
I had one of those water things. UGH! What a waste!!
Right?! A waste of money, time, and as it turns out, water!!
Let’s face it. Everything is made in China these days. I’ve purchased items on Amazon and the exact item on Temu for substantially less money. Temu will refund any item you didn’t like or was damaged. Same return policy as Amazon.
Good to know about the return policy, thanks!
I exchanged better than money back and we get another item.
Awesome!
Paint.
The music is extremely loud but your voice is low.
Thanks for the feedback. I try to adjust that during editing, but I must have missed it in this one.
Don’t use their app, that’s how they steal your art!,,,,
I was told that Temu is offering items at low prices to get a serious following, while taking your personal information. Be guarded - it is a Chinese company. I will pay Amazon’s reasonable prices to stay safe with an American company.
They make you say you brought it. What people will do for freebies.
