The Man I know what you mean about the colour. I recorded it on my phone so not the best quality. we have still yet to add the black stripe which will break up the orange. We currently have engine in bits due to no.4 rod spun so hopefully have it all back together next week ready for the wonderland car show
theberengersniper We are just repressing the out side to get another coat of paint. it was a bit of a rush getting the outside ready for paint as we was only planing of painting the inside and underside. We have uploaded the next video on our rallyorange page, It's not as good as the first video but it gives us something to work on on the next car. th-cam.com/video/zgJPWMqsu70/w-d-xo.html I do the the Orange song by young wonder :)
isn't it funny how over the years you swap between favourites? I had a really nice mk1 and loved it but now im trying to get a mk2. this video is amazing and orange is great.
Dave of all trades dave maclarn I know what you mean but for me i think it's a mk1 but i do really like the mk2 zakspeed style. i would go for one of them :)
when we brought the paint is was meant to be phoenix orange but it's turned out to be a lot lighter/brighter than Phoenix orange. I can try and find the codes they gave us but at the time i googled it and coudn't find anything
@Jonny Cobb Hi, what paint or primer or treatment did you use on the bare steel? Looks like 2 pack primer but just wondered if you used anything to stop the rust from trying to start up again
ford crossflow engine fuel injection personly I would have put a 2.4 or a 2.2 pinto ported out on a single webber 48 with a strait cut gearbox and an atlas twin tapered axe and a watts linkage but that's how I would do it but I liked the car tho and those ballon arches look nice on er to
Sure do! Looks like a first class job. This way of painting a car is very difficult. I would normally paint engine bay and interior first, have it cure and mask it of. Then concentrate fully on the exterior.
Martin Lyngby The plan was just to do the engine bay and inside and return to do the rest but wane said it's looking good let go for the hole lot and see how it goes. we do have some areas which needs a bit more prep and a repaint in the near future. thanks for your comments :)
We getting ever closer to finishing, or at least as near as we can. As you are never really finished with an Escort. :) All wiring is in and working. The Works style dash and layout all done. We have all the brakes fitted and plumbed also bled up and ready to stop it, the sump is being made, and the seats are being re-upholstered. All the suspension is on Atlas axle with L.S.D and 5 link all done. So not too much more to do, just some time and money for parts such as exhaust manifold and system, fly wheel, and a side fill alloy fuel tank mainly. keep you posted. :)
Best song ever about orange! Car looks like it speeding standing still!
@ 4 28 i like the colour it is there before its flashed of dried, that red is so bright i would of preferred that colour, nice job

Kieran, the car we are building is going to have a zebec in it with a pro box and the escort you see on the video has a 2.1 pinto with a dog box.
