Great video, I'm not a brickie but a reasonably good all rounder,Jack of all trades really, anyway gotta build one and half brick piers to hang gates on.do you think ties to the single re bar would help..thanks
Hiya Mark, great video mate 👍. Love that you use a folding rule, I've always got one on me 😉😉. Plinth bricks would look good, bring the top of the pier down to the size of the oak & shed water 👍👍. Hope you have a good one mate. Regards Tim
😂Chears Yere I love the folding rule. I haven't used one before. Then last year I saw Jay in Belgium. On youtube using them. And though I got to get my self one. Yere would love to put plinth brick on. Have not laid them in years. I think she is wanting a stone cap 👍👍👍👍
Lovely job mark , I do the same always run the centre pillars to a line 👌🏼. I see you were using perforated bricks at last and I bet you forgot the brick tongs 😆🧱👍🏼
😂😂😂Yes I did say to my mate Steve will be txting me about the tongs 🤣. Will be getting them out soon mate I have a fair bit of brickwork booked in.carnt wait to get them bricks laid in the sun 👍👍👍😜Yere lot better don't have to gauge it then do you. And two less points to plumb. I hate plumbing pillars So tedious 😂😂😂👍👍👍
Hi mate I don't know what the regs are .but I would go 250mm to 300mm on it that's normally what I do .and don't have problems more then better really 👍make the pad wider than the bricks too 👍
@george barker you can always watch mate 👍I been lucky that a lot of my customers ask me to do stuff I haven't done. I say not done that yet. And they say you can do it give me a price. And that's pritty much how I picked a lot of it up over the yearsWhen I left the sites laying brick. 😂👍were abouts u from

Done a few pillars and dwarf walks for oak framed buildings and plinth bricks are nice to finish top of pier but also a nice bit of stone like you said would be tidy I reckon maybe even better 👍

If I want to build similar size (1.5 brick) 2.5 meter high brick posts what size and depth concrete footings should be?
