His companion used to say that in whole year there was no 2 consecutive fridays within which Khalid ibn Walid didn't conquered a city.. which means a different city was conquered in each week... Walid, as you have rightly found out means father, but Waleed is a name, Khalid's father's name.
Khalid bin Waleed means "Khalid, son of Waleed"
In Arabic,
Bin means 'son of'
Binth means 'daughter of'
The Arabs traditionally use their names along with their father's name.
A typical example from today is the Saudi Prince 'Mohammed bin Salman' popularly known as 'MBS' which means Mohammad, son of Salman or rather 'Salman bin Abdulaziz'.
It's a good effort, anyways.
