the timer is just there as an incentive to do something if you're behind, the amount of time is completely relevant because some matches do have 2 floaties and are on dreamland
+valiante1998 He picked Dreamland so he could lame it out on the top platform. Peach cant reach the top platform without using double jump and falco has really good challeneges for when peach is coming up.

I always saw dreamland in Peach's favor due to her living longer, and due to the fact that the wind fucks up Falco. But I can see the platform game being in Falco's favor. I just feel like if West wanted to platform game, he should of went back to battlefield...
The problem with that is some MUs naturally go to 5-6 minutes just because of the characters. Floaty MUs and such. If we shortened the time, those MUs would always just be stalling tactics
Patrick Dunlap If there is a time-crunch, stalling tactics are okay because the losing player must approach. There are no infinite unbreakable stalls, are there? One player always has to be looking to approach if time is an issue, right?
Andrew Meijer I'm just imagining Sheik players stalling on the ledge for minutes at a time. It's definitely not impossible to deal with; but there's no reason to make that kind of playing more effective.

Hes better than hes ever been. He doesnt usually play like this but i respect that he tried something new in acknowledgement that he is playing against a much better opponent.

aMSa, Abate, M2K, and now Armada are my favorite Smash players to watch. I can't find a cheap copy of Melee to play, but I main Peach in Smash 4 and I love watching people kick ass with her. But I think WestBallz did pretty good too, I'm just not a huge fan of spacies.

I get what you're saying, but sm4sh itself is not defensive, it just rewards defensive playing a lot more. And what happened here wasn't defensive playing, he was just refusing to play. If he stood at one side and shot lasers and some how managed to not get punished, then I would agree with you. But I've played too many sm4sh matches where someone just shoots and throws stuff, then rolls across the map once you approach. and unless you are truly smarter than your opponent, they will win from that method. With melee's mechanics even peach could either avoid almost every projectile or at least punish falco when he tries to get to the other side of the map. This was an anomaly, and i think both games are entertaining to watch, but i prefer melee for the reasons stated above.

This is Kongo Jungle Camp-Stalling all over again, it turns out this time the spacie is stalling. I'm curious about what's going to happen. This is clearly unfair and there is a set of rules to keep the game fair (specially keep the game fair for the spacies). They talk about banning wobbling, mute city, kongo jungle 64 but Pokemon Stadium is there. I think it is time for a more solid set of rules that includes this kind of behavior by westballs here. I wonder what the TOs will do, it seems everyone fears to change some rules nowadays like it's the Constitution of the USA.

too much lag when the shine reflects, not worth
too much lag. even if the shine works and you short hop wavedash out of it, the person can just catch the turnip again and you haven't moved. easier to power shield or avoid completely.
