    My favorite bottle channel!! Dump digging or creek creeping! It's so cool how you can salvage a broke into a whiskey sipper! Sanborn map segment, very interesting. Me & my son hit a river jackpot years ago here in Wisc. Found about 20 whole from 1900? There was a Werner "safe"kidney amoung them. Fine channel Brandon! Rk.

    Thanks for explaining the Sanborn Maps. I just recently learned about them. It's very hard to find them for my area of NY State. Everything here is about NY City and I'm on the opposite side of the state, near the Pa. border. It's fun to do the research though.😊

    The Sanborns are an absolute asset! I discovered them around 1985 when nobody locally even knew about them. I cleaned up after that! They are great but I have found that they can be incorrect at times depending on how thorough and precise the guy was who did the measuring back in the day.

      All the Sanborn maps I've seen are for cities and towns. How do you find them for rural areas?

    Cool overlay with the Sanborn map and the modern map. Is there a site or software that does this? I believe I’ve used Google Earth in the past for map overlays but never with Sanborns. Great info there on the Sanborns 👍

      We just use photoshop and control the opacity of the overlayed photo.

    I think the snakes are looking for you ! In order to find the good stuff, you need to stand up to them, they protect the "good stuff" ..... How is the "Lady of the House" and the Princess ? Say you prayers my far away friend and mow the lawn, clean the garage and cook breakfast Sunday morning, and them rare finds will start coming in :-)

    The Sanborn maps staff didn't do nearly as good a thorough job in Texas as they did in the NE states 😒 I just checked online, the oldest one I found for my city is 1890.
