True. Poverty exists in every country. But, one thing I have learned in life is, “poverty” is in the eye of the beholder. A simple life often times brings more happiness, more love, more real connections to those around us. We often dismiss the true importance of these quality of life aspects.
I loved this video!! My father was in Laos during the Vietnam war and he really liked it there.. but not the circumstances. Your video of the morning market brought so many wonderful memories of the open market that I practically lived in as a child living in Taiwan! Thank you so much for sharing all these great videos! Take care and be safe!🙂🇺🇸❤️
Love this travel video of Laos. Especially showcasing all the young kids helping their families! Sweet but also heartbreaking at the same time. Hope the best for them!
Amazing place and amazing perspective! 🥰 When travelling and eating local it’s best to avoid the raw salads, fruits. Cooked food is not that much of a problem.
I made a similar move, to thailand. for the first year or two, you'd have these sorts of realisations like how life can be cheap and chilled I call that the honeymoon period. I still live in thailand, but once you see the problems, it's hard to unsee Things that just "work" in the countries we used to live in, it might not work that well in Laos/Thailand Or when you miss having a deep conversation about complex topics, which none of the people here understand For me, the tradeoffs are still worth it, but it's not that easy to really feel home in a foreign land
Thanks for taking us along. It was very interesting to see things that most of us from the U.S will never see. I still cant get over spending only $30 a day. It costs $30 for 2 people to eat one meal at McDonalds here 😅. Really enjoying your videos 😊
What a privilege to experience such intense moments. The natural beauty of the area, the joy of its people, even in the simplest of living conditions. Seeing children playing instead of being subjected to parental and social pressure shows just how important it is not to rob children of their childhood. I'm surprised to see so much food despite the material conditions. The most important thing is that people don't go hungry, that they have something to eat and a place to sleep. Small like for the French bridge, whose architecture resembles the Eiffel building. Thanks for this great video. NJT🙏🏼🌸
Man thats amazing i just recently watch your vidoe of korean vlog in village i like the way u think about life . And your passion keep it up God bless u two. Iam now your new subscriber
The bad thing about eating locally is the high risk of foodborne illnesses. Yes, they are yummy and cheaper. But, unless you know the water used was from a clean source and the meats and raw foods were cleaned and refrigerated properly, you should probably choose food cooked at high temperatures and avoid cooked food that has remained warm or at room temperature.
I am happy for you. Can realy feel how you enjoy Laos. It is truly beautiful country with friendly people amazing architecture , great food and spectacular nature. Hope you managed to dodge Yagi! You are kid only once and childhood should be carefree and fun. So i am against too much presure on kids like it is applied in some countries..It was touching seeing Jin with the little boy.She will be great mum one day:). Btw try to have helmets when you ride a bike, pls.Stay safe and healthy.Happy travels!
The problem is the quality and taste of affordable and cheap food. I would prefer vietnam food but hygiene is not expectable. Well, if laos food can feed us without killing its worth.
DId you have a drone? What are the laws for flying a drone, or are there any? I must agree with your wife. I am not certain I would have enjoyed the cockroach on the restaurant wall. I also wish to say that it is nice to see what you did not enjoy along with what you did. Thank you for sharing. Do you believe it would be a place you could actually live?😆
so i just subscribed (because i want to support your channel) and checked out a few of your videos. however, i have to tell you that i'm a bit disappointed that you seem to be the only one talking in the videos. i understand that jin doesn't speak english but that's what subtitles are for. and if your reasoning is that you need someone to be the cameraperson, you guys could rotate. i'd like to hear what jin has to say because otherwise, it just seems like it's your channel and not both of yours. besides, she's much prettier than you are. best of luck in your journey!
I have to let you know that Jin is very shy and she didn't want to appear on the channel back then, and still she is. I had to convince her to appear and talk more. You'll have to understand Korean girl's nature before making a judgement please.
@@abitdifferentkoreans being a koreanamerican i can understand her being shy. i didn't think of that obviously before commenting. anyhoo, i'm glad both you and jin are trying unconventional lifestyle. a lot of people seem to do well with their youtube channels so, i hope both of you find your success and happiness as well.

Yes we fly our drone. It was allowed in Laos. Because of the affordable living costs, people come to Laos after retirement.
😍😘

My dream is to move to Korea and spend $300 every day 😂. so far, my salary is $15 per day.

@@themanifester1807 I do not know what kind of work they had. I will be satisfied with just a factory for 12-14 hours for $ 80. That would be great.

What are the scratches on your wrist and arm?
Those are the scars from a snowboarding accident in Switzerland and following arm surgery.
