She should definitely highlight non animal product meals to get the best results. Otherwise she's suggesting meals that actually starve human beings to create. People don't seem to realize that to make animal products we have enslaved entire sections of the planet and are directly responsible for global starvation despite growing enough food for 10 billion people. The best way to help people with food insecurity is giving them as many environmentally friendly options as possible, not just the cheap bs. Coming from someone who spent a long time being homeless and forced to eat scraps of crap rather than actually healthy meals.
@@AL-cg4vb while you make good points, she keep people in food deserts in mind and quite frankly non-animal products are often hard to come by and much more expensive in a food desert. She does include vegetables that are available for purchase at DT.

- I agree, Mac n Cheese doesn’t have to be baked.
- I’ve made boba myself before. It’s not that hard, unless you’re talking the popping bobas, then we’re getting into science experiment territory. I looked into it, but couldn’t be bothered to get the ingredients.
- They’re literally playing Pokémon Gen. 3 music during the bee boba video.

popping boba is "simple" in that it's like, two special ingredients and easy once you get used to it! honestly not really worth it unless you're making a specific flavor, the store bought ones are way cheaper (and better)

Even tho this isn’t really a cooking video, I still wanna say thanks to Julien. Because of sensory and other health issues I have (not an ED) it is very challenging to eat food, and I will often go for an entire day without eating because I just can’t do it. Turning on juliens cooking videos and watching him make food that just looks so incredible actually gets me in a good enough mindset to force myself to eat. This isn’t a cooking video but even just hearing him talk about cooking and eating is making me want to eat.
Long story short; these typa videos help me to eat and stay healthy
there are rubber ice trays that you can get that have tiny squares you fill up and break out when they're frozen. a little time consuming but really worth. I'd get multiples tho, so you always have a back up.

No, cuz I understand Julian so much when he was talking about texture!! I can push through not having the best taste as long as texture is good but not the other way around. Similar thing happened to me with a tofu recipe and the texture turned from crispy to soft so fast that it made me sick 😭 I forced myself to eat as much as I could to not waste food but ended up having to toss it anyway.

Best fried veggies are mushrooms. You use the cheapest mushrooms, the button mushroom and take the stem out. When it fries the moisture comes out and leaves mushroom soup in the cap. 10/10

for the corn recipe, there is a very popular indian bar/pub food which is simply called crispy corn. you coat the corn in corn flour (i think, or rice flour) and fry it, then remove it all in a bowl, add whatever spices you'd like and give it a good toss. super delicious.
Also with the potato pancake, another recipe to try is aloo paratha. common breakfast in north India, its like a flatbread, stuffed with mashed potato (that has been seasoned well with salt, chili powder, onion, cilantro, turmeric) and its paired with raita (yoghurt based dip).
We need a corn recipe series now!!!

I maintain that there are three distinct kinds of mac n’ cheese, all equally delicious but different foods: 1) Stovetop mac with just half water and milk, cooked down with noods that you don’t strain and maximum gooey yellow cheese added at the end, no bechamel or floury sauce nonsense 2) Baked mac with a mornay sauce and shredded white cheese with pull like gruyere, maybe some grated nutmeg, breadcrumbs and parm on top 3) copious amounts of Kraft (blue box) mac boiled for just a little too long so that it’s extra soft and made with whole milk, one and a half “cheese” seasoning packets and a tablespoon of mayo.

Also, re: the lobster mushroom, it's actually quite common for people to respond differently to different mushrooms.
