For hand washing dishes I keep a large bar of soap, rub it with a sponge or brush and scrub dishes, works great, I still use Dawn for really dirty items. Usually a laundry bar soap, it saves plastic waste.
@@geneeddleman2132 Im sure it would work, just put some in a bottle you recycle ♻️. I know dish soap isn't expensive but this saves plastic for my household.
I love the introduction that was soo cute I saw a video saying the Borax isn't good for certain skin types like sensitive skin I want to try this , this week thanks for sharing ☺️ you did am amazing job
Thanks for your kind words! and please do try it. I think you'll love it! If the Borax bothers you, I'm sure the volume could be reduced without much change in the overall performance. One thing I've realized since I made the video is the white Zote has a mild citranella scent. Very fresh and herbal.
I usually add the mixture into a 5 gallon bucket full. Sometimes that gets REALLY thick after it sits in the jugs for a while. Most recipes I've seen actually dilute it further to make 10 gallons. Either way, I'd suggest making it to the solution that's easiest for you to handle, and if you want it more concentrated, just add more soap at the washer, or if it's too concentrated, add less. It's only water! Here's a ps: we ran out a while back cause I got lazy, and had to fall back on some Tide we had in our storage room. It was horrible! I couldn't wait to get back to our clean, home made soap!
Thanks for the video. How much do you use in a load? The exact amount you would use of store-bought liquid soap? Oh, btw, you are correct about the OxyClean. It is water activated and shouldn't be put into the liquid solution.
thanks for watching! Yes, I use the same as I would of Tide or whatever. In fact I kept a couple of the measuring caps from the factory soap and use that for my measure. I did start out using about half as much, and it worked great, but I'm one of those guys who just has to use a little more. Just psychological, I know, but it makes me feel better.
I'm not sure if there is a good substitute or not, but I've come to believe that the amount is not that critical if you'd like to reduce the Borax due to skin sensitivity, etc. The main ingredient here is the soap. Zote was developed to be a laundry soap all by itself. The traditional use was to use it directly on the clothes while scrubbing them on the old washboard, Or shaving off some soap from the bar and throwing that in the washer tub to dissolve and go to work. The Borax and washing soda are basically for lighteners and boosters. Hope this helps.
thanks! been thinking about dish soap, but don't have an answer for you yet. Tried a couple of recipes for dishwasher soap, but wasn't impressed. Will keep working on it. Thanks for asking.

I'll have to try that. I've considered just trying my liquid laundry soap for dishes. Don't know why I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Great video ❤ if you want to save more, you can make your own Washing soda by baking your baking soda.
Thanks! I may look into that.

Gene I forgot to ask, in the end do you have to add that much water or can I leave it a little bit thicker???

Good job instead of borax can you use anything else plus is this the only bar soap that u can use thanks

This is great. Thank you. Do you know how to make dish detergent????

Some people mix borax and washing soda for diy machine dishwasher detergent, maybe you can try that.
I definitely will! Been looking for a good dishwasher recipe. Maybe it's right in front of me!?
@@geneeddleman2132 I've never tried it because I don't have a dishwasher, but I've read it in several cleaning articles.
