The capital of this union territory is also named Puducherry. This region is notable for its distinct French colonial heritage, evident in its architecture, town planning, and cultural aspects that blend Indian traditions with French influence. Puducherry includes several districts, with the Puducherry district being one of them. It also has a parliamentary constituency under the same name. The territory is home to the Pondicherry University and Puducherry Technological University, contributing to its educational significance. Additionally, Puducherry has a football team and has been the setting for films and historical battles, highlighting its cultural and historical importance.

Indore , Lucknow, Noida,bhopal ,Shimla, Manali,Chandigarh,Surat etc ,
So beautiful places and so clean cities of pondicherry. Keep growing up the develops and keep cleaning whole places of Pondicherry city all people from Pondicherry. I love Pondicherry places that's watching from Meghalaya, Northeast India

Southern India is completely Defferent from Mumbai and Delhi
Don't humble yourself, you can find open drains and garbage anywhere remotely poor in Chennai

@@kittu4573 the only state declared open defecation free is sikkim and the cleanest city has consecutively been awarded to Indore.
Tamils are not keep ur city clean minded.see Tharavi,filthy slum!slum dwelling and keeping surroundings filthy and nasty is attributed to Tamils.

This is South India .. it's completely different from north India like Delhi, Mumbai,Etc..
Pretty much immaculate, the people must work hard to keep it clean and tidy, a lack of filth spraying graffiti too, maybe they don't have money for the cans.
