Teej been loving the content man, keep up the great work! Any chance next week you could have the Bears trade out of the top 5? I think that's the only scenario you haven't run so far with the 1st pick and it would be interesting to see how that shifts the board
I have two plans in mind, both send Chicago outside the top 8! I think I'll use both over the next two weeks but next week I think I'm gonna run with the bigger drop for the Bears!
Right on, very excited to see how those plans unfold! As a Bears fan, that #9-15 range is starting to feel like the sweet spot; getting a huge haul of picks and drafting JSN would be damn near perfect imo
I like your videos, Teej, but I think there is an extremely minimal chance the Bears stay at #1, let alone draft Carter there after what happened this week. Their franchise needs to maximize the draft capital from trading down (possibly multiple times).
I totally agree! I wanted to explore how the board would play if they had to stick and pick. But then the Carter news broke and I'm with you, he isn't going 1 anymore. Carter at 1 was more to get that out of the way more so me projecting that still being the pick. That said, I'm thinking he goes 6-10 ish next week but we'll see what happens over the next week
Lawyer, here, although don't take this as gospel. If the court views the crime as the racing, which I think is possible, then Carter would be on the hook for the two deaths. He was caught driving 89 mph in a 45 zone before, but no one got hurt. Here, he was going faster in coordination with the other racers. Thus, he could be held liable for the entire incident. It's called "joint and severable liability." In reality, this is very similar to the Henry Ruggs situation. Think of it this way. The guy who orders the murder is still on the hook even if someone else pulled the trigger. On a football note, I'm not sure teams are going to feel so comfortable going into business with a guy who has these types of incidents in his past. Committing for five years and tens of millions of dollars with these red flags I suspect will scare some teams off at the very top of the draft.
Thanks for that insight! That's part of why I just wanted to get Carter out of the way for the mock bc that is not my realm of expertise and I would jsut imagine the Carter's reps are gonna try to distance as much as possible and keep it at the two misdemeanors. And on the football side, I totally agree with you! Albert Breer reported that team's were already iffy on his maturity and this doesn't help at all...
@@teej11 in your defense it's a mouthful. I maybe should have work shopped a smoother name lol. Jumbo and I called it 2 OGs for short. It's all pretty new, so who knows what could change in the months and years to come. Save that stuff for the summer though, too much draft content now.
I love Wilson, Murphy or Stroud at 5. I won't agree with anyone who says Wilson isn't worth the top 5 pick in this draft. Yes, he has places to improve. He's fairly raw, but he's got massive potential and the size and pass rush ability that Seattle needs. And he can also play the run better than people think because he can defeat the angle. The potential is ridiculous with him. He's the AR15 of the DL. Like the trade back and Bresee is a polarizing player. I don't disagree with the need. I could get on board with it if it happened, but I don't see it. Benton is maybe not as high a ceiling, but his consistency is off the charts, comparitively, and doesn't come with the concerns. You can get him, Ika, Tuipulotu or Kancey if he falls a little later. This is a chance to really cash out on a play maker, LB or massive Center. With Bijan, JSN and Flowers off the board it leaves Mayer, Hyatt, Sanders, Simpson and Michael-Schmitz, all of which would give more value than Bresee in my book. Or shoot, Emmanuel Forbes might be on Pete's list to round out his secondary.
@@teej11 it certainly does. If Bresee hits it changes the entire dynamic of the D-line. Boom or bust players just haven't been kind to us and for a limited role in year 1, as you alluded to, I have trouble feeling great about it. Although as I said, if it happened, I could get behind it. I'd rather move down, pick up that extra pick, take a sure-fire hit at 25 and trade back up into the early 2nd to get Bresee. Essentially a 2-for-1 w/ a pick swap (get 100 for 5 spot drop in the 1st, give back 121 for say, 5 spot bump in the 2nd?). I think that gives better value and you get your C or play maker at 25 instead of passing on him. Say you got Wilson at 5, Simpson at 25 and Bresee somewhere around 32.... THAT would change the ENTIRE defense, not just the DL.
Having now seen the combine numbers, I think this mock is obsolete. A couple of notes. The test scores indicate that the draft is DEEP in edge players. And weak for QB. This means, for Seattle, there's almost no chance Seattle takes an edge player at #5 not named Anderson. They will take a QB or trade back. It depends on who goes off the board 1-4. Bijon is also an option at 5 if no QB you like is there and no trade that lands a 2024 1st rounder materialized. Mark my words, Robinson's gone by #8. You don't pass up on special talents like that... or you regret it forever. And there is zero chance they take Bresee-- in part because there's almost no chance they take a DE at 5. He tested like shite on the bench, near the bottom in terms of strength, looked poor out there too. Mazi Smith put up 34 on the bench compared to Bresee's 22, and so why are we drafting Bresee at 20? Hell, Jalen Redmond, who was on nobody's radar but mine, kicked Bresee's ass in just about everything, faster in the 40, tied in the 10 split, and then better across the board in every skill, including 5 more reps on the bench. #20 is where they will look to score a Van Ness or Will McDonald. Or, if they take Anderson, some DT like Mazi Smith or Calijah Kancey, although I think the latter's arm length might be too little for the Hawks. I actually think there's still more a chance they draft Jalen Carter at 5 than Wilson. Why everyone-- and I do mean everyone-- lazily mocks him to us is a mystery. Oh, and if AR15 is there at #18, no way the Saints, of all teams, with zero draft capital, are out-bidding us for that player unless we drafted a QB earlier. Or Baltimore, come to think of it. Or Tampa. But of course AR doesn't get out of the Top 9. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go #1 overall. In your draft he is literally the last next-level QB in the draft and yet you have any number of teams pass him by, the Jets, NE, Det (twice), GB, and Wash to name a few. Again, unless you have a Mahomes or Allen-type talent on the roster, you don't pass up that kind of player that in two years, say when Mack Jones' contract is up or Aaron Rodgers retires from the Jets, etc, you can have AR ready to play at possibly an MVP level.
Yeah a lot is gonna change in next weekend's mock since i know have the official heights, weights, & athletic testing scores! And I can agree on a lot of the points you bring up. Let me pose a question, obviously every team now has to ask the question, are we willing to draft Jalen Carter. So do you think Seattle would pull the trigger on him at 5? Alternatively, thoughts on taking Kancey? He's shooting up board after the combine obviously, and I'm curious to where his stock settles. He may be the plan if they can trade back.
@@teej11 No, I think Carter will be taken off the board for Seattle entirely. They said last year that character was going to be one of the main criteria for their drafting, and there were already questions about his maturity and work ethic, which this very serious business now compounds. Something like that. And then, if it seems believable, you pull the trigger at 5. But I rather doubt it; it's just I doubt a DE not named Anderson at 5 even more. As for Kancey, there's no way you're taking a DT with 30.5 inch arms when the Seahawk standard is 33. That's a big big difference. Don't care how fast he is. Even most guards in the NFL are going to be able to punch you right in the chest. Guy's athleticism may put him in the first, but no way do you put in the card at 5. Or even 9. Probably a 2nd rounder. Hard to say, though. A lot depends on scheme fit. I'm thinking even 20 is too rich. But 37? Maybe.
TEEJ you understand how the saints operate. I’d their interview with AR went well and he falls to where a team will take a reasonable trade they are going to go all out for him

What does will Levi's do better than stroud he isn't more mobile look at the Georgia game he definitely isn't more accurate and he doesn't process as fast as stroud either so I guess if you only worry about arm strength Levis is your guy and if you want a QB who turns the ball over
Levis has a better release too imo, and played under two former NFL OCs. They other challenging part of the eval is accounting for what around them. Levis made some poor decision this year no doubt, but he had to make it all happen on his own and I think that led to him forcing the issue. Stroud is coming from the best system and one of the best rosters in CFB. So for me, that muddies the on-field production and adds some context for their strengths/weaknesses

All mocked way higher than they deserve to go. Although Simpson tested pretty well.
@@jamesvalvis1131 Melton?
@@jamesvalvis1131 who has Melton on top of their CB board? I haven't seen his name even in a top ten from any source.
@@friendsofjeremy I know it sounds nuts. Most player rankings have him a 6-UDFA. But I saw two separate people say that they are hearing at the combine that several GMs think him among the best CBs. Forget now who said it, but it was probably on the NFL Network, which I've been watching.
That said, rumors are rumors and the BS flies freely these days. So, with that grain of salt...
Zero chance Carter gets picked first overall. Stopped watching after that
Yeah I more so wanted it out of the way to proceed with the rest of the mock. That said, I think as of now he'll go in the 6-10 range, not 1
Seahawks won't pass on Carter at 5. I promise you.
