Wow, you’re SO MUCH MORE uncomplicated and down to earth than I thought! Good job guys, 2 1/2 yrs ago when I did this I packed so much crap (enter “soft towel”, portable mirror and florarl pillow case) and to the day I shake my head. You won’t be there for long, and I remember my bag was so full of clothes and stuff than the moment I reeeeeally needed the tiny pouch of hair ties my husband couldn’t even find it!

Aspyn I feel like you're so chill and dealing with things so so well! I was honestly a little nervous for you a few months back because you're such a planner (and I can RELATE) but you're doing so awesome.
Make sure you have plenty of nursing friendly pain medication, gas relief, and stool softener for when you get home. Definitely get the adult diapers! Lots of them for the first couple weeks. Thick pads shift around and weigh the underwear down so it can cause leaks around your legs. The diapers don’t have those issues. This may be TMI, but for the first week or more after birth, when you stand up you may experience gushes. Having that “seal” around your legs and absorbency that isn’t shifting out of place is a life saver. I had 2 before I discovered diapers, and I have now had 2 with diapers. Even the nurses in the hospital wondered why they didn’t just use the diapers for all postpartum patients.
You're definitely well prepared and don't need all the extra stuff! I've had two babies now and I survived with plenty less than what you packed! SO EXCITED FOR YOU GUYS!!!! 💕💕💕
You may want to set up a postpartum basket/area with the things you’ll need when you get home. I had one for me and one for baby with all the daily essentials so they were easy to grab and keep track of while I was still recovering. I also had one just for the bathroom for the first few weeks after delivery. ❤️🤰🏼

I think you got everything honestly. The only thing I would say is if you have premie outfits put one in! My son was full term and 7.5 pounds and was in them for 2 weeks.
this is all you need to pack! the only thing you MAY want to bring would be a nursing pillow. my breast friend was my favorite, but i only used it for a short while. maybe three weeks before my baby needed to be kinda sitting up while she ate to help her digest milk and not spit up so much. i also packed a couple of granola bars for in between meals when i was hungry! CONGRATS MAMA YOU’RE GOING TO CRUSH LABOR AND DELIVERY!!!!
You actually can bring your own socks, either just wear your comfy fuzzy ones under the hospital ones (ask your nurse for a size up in the hospital ones so that your own fit underneath). Or find fuzzy socks or slippers with good floor grips! I’m a nurse extern and we allow patients to wear their own items as long as they are not considered a high fall risk or as long as they have good grips.

“don’t tell me to bring a towel”. i love you girl, and same, i could dry off with paper towels after a shower, a towel would be the least of my worries!
As a postpartum nurse, your simplistic bag is perfect! I would just add a hair brush for you, if you are bringing your own pillow make sure the pillow case is not white so you dont forget it at the hospital when you leave or change rooms, a pair of disposable flip flops for Parker and maybe warmer clothes for Parker to sleep in just in case he gets cold at night. Everything else is great and honestly I would save your nice slippers and use a cheap pair you don't care about throwing away. My work shoes NEVER come in the house and after we had my son we immediately threw out both of our flip flops we wore at the hospital. You may not walk out of your room but every other health care provider is going from room to room and we step in a lot of body fluids.

At last a first time mother that doesn’t go over the top with packing! I’ve seen people packing their hospital bags as if they’ve going on an all inclusive holiday for 2 weeks! Can’t wait for baby! 💜
Vitamin D drops and breast pads in case :) also make sure you bring two different sized going home outfits. You never know if baby will be newborn or 0-3 months.
Bring a mini desk fan. You will get hot, especially with the hormones changing so quickly and they will keep the post partum room warm for the baby. Also bring some snacks and drinks for Parker during birth and something for you after. Depending on when the baby comes the cafeteria may be closed and Parker might not want to or have a chance to leave.
I’ve mentioned this before in the comments but snacks are not just for hubby so take ones you like also! Breastfeeding and all the effort your going to put into labor will make you very hungry!!❤️

Don’t forget a nice soothing chapstick! It seems silly, but with delivering both my baby girls it was a must!!! During your delivery they don’t really let you drink water but give you ice chips. So after laboring for 6+ hours your mouth gets soooooo dry! And if your planning on nursing, make sure to have some breast ice packs on hand. The lansinoh brand is great. Congratulations you two! Looking forward to all the family vlogs coming our way! ❤️
I love how minimal it is! That’s how I was. I did love having my boppy pillow for myself and the baby! That was “my pillow” I brought. It was awesome when learning how to breastfeed too!

The sitz bath is for you to sit in to heal your bottom basically. You can do it in your bath in 3" water or buy the sitz bath thing that goes on top of your toilet. You dissolve the mixture in warm water and it gives relief and healing. You can also make your own mixture.
Yes! So glad to see that you're taking less things than everyone thinks you need. I over packed sooo much, and honestly I was only there one night and didn't shower until I got home cause dry shampoo was fine. And the unpacking definitely didn't happen for about 2 weeks!

The only thing from home I used at the hospital was slippers! My bag stayed unpacked. I stayed in a hospital gown my whole stay (didn't have any visitors), used their underwear and postpartum care necessities. Same for the baby, only used a coming home outfit and nail clippers. Definitely no need for a towel from home. Good luck!
Definitely bring the boppy nursing pillow. Specially being a first time mom breastfeeding can be hard and it might help you. You might not want to use but definitely worth it to have it there in case you’re having a hard time with positioning it might be a life saver. Also, I know you have one kind of pacifier, and the hospital gives you another kind, my first baby never like that hospital kind. I’m bringing 4 different kinds (all newborn size) just in case. You might think the baby doesn’t like pacifiers when in reality the baby might not have like that one kind... definitely worth it finding a pacifier she’ll like

I liked the depends diapers. Buy the smallest pack they sell, you can always buy more, but to have too many is a waste! Those pads will be great after the first few days. Dermoplast is what the hospital will give you. It’s amazing!

I also would say that the pants or shorts you're planning on wearing after- make sure they come onto your belly. If you end up having to have a c-section you won't want anything touching or putting pressure on that scar! So make sure any underwear for after come up higher too - bring come TONS of mesh undies
I used the perennial spray and LOVED it. Also got the after ease but I didn’t have any contractions after labor so I didn’t need them! Bring all of it with you though you will want it there!
When I had my baby I basically brought nothing with me and just lived in the hospital gown. I guess it made things easier, but thinking back on it I might've enjoyed some of the comforts of home!

Bring your boppy pillow and possibly a preemie outfit or 2 just in case. My son was 7 pounds and newborn size swallowed him the first week.
