    Word of advice- get the underwear pads. I thought the same as you it’d only be a couple of days but it was weeks. I’d go depends they were so comfy

    Pads for daytime, diapers at night so you don’t bleed on your sheets. You may bleed up to six weeks so I would consider getting some. I wore the diaper with spandex booty shorts over them so I didn’t feel so stupid but it was a lifesaver.

    Buy all the depends! depending on the how you end up giving birth you will live in those for quite awhile. Not just for blood, but as you get your bladder control back.

    Get the Depends!! I wasn't sure how much I would use them, but I used them for at least a week and they were amazing. I have an ivory/cream colored couch so I was paranoid about leaking and the Depends were great for that!! No leaks! Then I switched to the large, thicker pads :-)

    I HIGHLY recommend Tucks medicated pads, Preparation H for women wipes, flushable wipes, and the Fridababy momwasher. If you tear and need stitches, you won’t be able to wipe with regular toilet paper- you’ll have to use a peri bottle (the Fridababy one is aaaamazingg) and wipes (the Tucks and prep H ones have things like witch hazel and aloe in them and are really soothing).

    For your hospital bag, definitely size up for nursing bra! I'm usually a small but I had to wear large bras after baby! Always wear a nursing bra to hospital that can unhook from the back so you can easily take off or nurses can if need be (they were glad I wore one that unclipped from behind for when I got epidural) and Always pads were not comfortable for me! I tore big time so I was even more sensitive down there due to stitches and the only brand that felt comfortable was Tena brand (bummer it's not at target) but it's one of those brands not many know about!! So exciting hospital bag prep!

  • @TheSnowReport28
    @TheSnowReport28 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Depends adult diapers in the silhouette style are my fave! I used them for two weeks after giving birth. The sizing is true to your pant/underwear size. And yes, bring your own blanket to the hospital, snacks for your partner and then snacks for you afterward when the cafeteria is closed. I didn’t bring slippers, just my Birkenstock’s and if you want to shower afterward you’ll need some shower shoes.

    I used to go crazy packing my hospital bag (This one will be my 6th baby) . One thing I’ve learned is not to bring things they will offer you at the hospital. They give you big thick pads and spray and stuff to help with your girly regions. I also had my brand new blanket my oldest daughter bought me for Christmas disappear somehow at the hospital, but I did bring my pillow from home and my Boppy. My night gown and slippers were also used allot but not until after she was born for me lol. Just remember when packing your hospital bag that everything you bring you will have to pack back up and bring home when it’s time to leave the hospital room, allot like a hotel stay lol. I found the less I had to pack up (or have hubby pack up) the better. Even though I didn’t pack up everything myself, I’m the type of person who has to check and make sure we remembered everything from charging cords to bathroom essentials. Lol. I’m so excited for you and Parker to experience this adventure of parenthood together, especially the baby delivery and bringing home baby. Also excited to continue to watch your little family in the future and see what your future holds in upcoming vlogs.

    You should get a pack of the underwear pads! These were a life saver for me when I had my daughter June 21. For me pads were uncomfortable after birth, and the underwear were comfy for me. I also used them when I got home because I’m used to wearing tampons and didn’t like the pads, and I bled for 2 weeks after having her.

    Aspyn,as you can tell by everyone’s comments ,everyone is different after birth.I bought maternity pads and they were fine in big undies and I was only bleeding for 4 days heavily after that two weeks light then nothing.I was the same for all my kids.Don’t prepare for too much,as you said uyour close to home and have family to get you what you need when you know.I hope you will be like I was as I was really lucky.❤️

    Aspyn! Ok a few things,
    1. I used the mesh underwear for definitely more than a week at least! They were so handy, but when the leaking lightened up I used maxi pads with granny panties and that worked nicely!
    2. I have that nursing bra from target and love love it. I have other nursing bras that snap but that aren’t as comfortable as that one from target! I have it in nude and black. After a while it does lose its stretch because you’re pulling it over so often to nurse but it’s great cause it’s pretty inexpensive so you can always get more.
    3. Also I would deff recommend getting nursing pads. I did notttt like to reusable ones, I leaked right through them and had to wash them so much that I didn’t have anything to use in the meantime which ended up in lots of wet shirts 🙃 so I got a big box of the disposable kind and they hold a lot of leakage!
    Hope this helps😘💗

    I wore the depends diapers for at least 5 days. Probably the best hospital/aftercare purchase I made! I personally wore them for about 5 days. I also had an episiotomy and the diapers were much easier to get on/off, not as messy, and waaayyy more comfortable.

    For baby girls bag, I would recommend packing different size clothing for her. You never know if she will be on the smaller size or bigger. When I was pregnant with my first born, she didn't fit in any of the new born outfits I took... I had to get my hubby to buy a "preemie" size onesie. All my weight gain was only in my tummy area, much like you. Definitely something to consider. Great video!

    ok so i’ve seen all of the pregnancy vlogs, but i can’t remember if you guys got a boppy pillow yet or not. i’m a 12 yr old, but when i was little i had a boppy pillow, and i had it for a long time for just keepsakes. but my mom had triplets, which i am one of, and she said that the boppy pillows worked really well for like nursing, and tummy time. so i hope this helps with some tips!

I found them very helpful as I am preparing for mine as well 😁

  • @VirginiaScratcher
    @VirginiaScratcher 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had a c-section, but I bled for over 4 weeks. The hospital gave me a bunch of mesh panties and the thickest huge pads, which were amazing for the first week until I ran out. Then went to granny panties and the largest overnight Always pads. I didn't try the underwear kind, but that would've been a good choice starting out, too. The bleeding starts out heavy then gets lighter and then goes to kind of a heavy discharge. So maybe a variety of types of pads for the entire time if you don't want to go out a lot after having the baby.

    I didn’t use my own underwear at the hospital.. when you are bleeding so heavily it’s really nice to not mess your own stuff up lol the mesh panties and giant hospital pads were the best! I will say though, they are disposable and if you’re also taking meds it’s likely that your belly will be really itchy a day or 2 postpartum so make sure to moisturize!
