I don't really see how you can have Anorexia and not have the fear of gaining weight.Anorexia is a mental illness that can have physical complications....but just because someone is underweight does not make someone Anorexic it just means you are underweight. Anorexia is not a weight it's a state of mind really. I'm not saying you were not underweight just that you were not anorexic. I struggle with anorexia and I can tell You it is definitely more mental then physical though the physical side effects can kill you, the physical symptoms would not be there if it were not for the Mental symptoms first! I think it was wrong of the hospital to put you on a one to one for having GP! Like I said you can be underweight and starving Without being anorexic! They were right to monitor you though because when someone is in starvation mode can get reseeding syndrome. I had Refeeding syndrome once from My ED. It was scary! But Anorexia by definition is a mental illness so unless you felt a need to lose weight or were scared to gain that is not Anorexia. I'm not trying to be mean or anything at all! It's just people who have struggled with eating disorders would probably tell you anorexia or any eating disorders is not a weight or body size but a mental illness that usually does effect physical health but it is rooted in the mind and thoughts not in appearance or size! Hope your GP is under control!💙

actually, anorexia nervosa is the mental illness. anorexia simply means lack of hunger leading to weight loss. there is a difference between anorexia and anorexia nervosa.
i am also recovering from anorexia nervosa and have developed gastroparesis due to it.

@@IsThisTourettes I wish they would come up with a different word! Because it tends to confuse people for sure! I mean all this medical jargon and they were like... well just stick with this and confuse ppl!😂😅🤷🏻‍♀️

What was the medication you were on for gastroparesis?

Pj Belton Reglan for five months, then Erythromycin for a couple weeks, and now trying Iberogast. I have recently been diagnosed with Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome, however - the believed cause of my Gastroparesis. Feel free to ask any more questions you may have!

Sams S9 I am not doing so well. I’m hardly able to eat much at all - 500-600 calories daily. My weight is dropping. Unless something changes, and I can eat, a feeding tube will be in the near future.

Sams S9 In June I was doing quite well, while taking Reglan. I have since stopped this medication, and am no longer well.
