I seen this about 10 times and always get teary when Floor is crying. She is wonderful and so grounded. She speaks without any ego as other divas I could say. Loved it ❤️🤘🎸🎻🦘
It's hard not to when you see her crying. 🥺 Yes, she definitely speaks without any ego. Even when people are complimenting her, you can see she is just so humble and graceful about accepting comments. Almost like she doesn't even realize how amazing she is! 😅
So very glad you chose to watch this. Floor is just so amazingly grouded and presents as such a beautiful human.

She really is. I thought about it even after watching it, she just seems like such a normal, down to earth person. I can see why so many people adore her.
I'm from North Germany, think its a cultural thing, people from this area are natural and cultural grounded, talking not much, but when its exact what they think, some people think, its rude and unfriendly, but they are true about their feelings.
It's a school reunion, not a Nigthwish reunion. Not just for Floor, but for the other people in the class room as well. The entire broadcast highlighted the careers of several people of what happened after they left the Rock Academy.
Ooh okay. I know she mentioned Rock Academy; so I assumed that's what they were all in at one point.
@@nikkireviews It was a regular show on Dutch television. They always brought back together a class for a reunion. Most episodes are about unknown people, but it is kind of fascinating that almost every class has a least one person with a very interesting life story.

That was the school of rock Floor once trained in so it was a reunion. Floor get very emotional when ever her Mother cries or seems upset even though her mothers tears was once of pride and happiness it still trigfers Floor. Her song Strong still brings me to tears.
You should watch the videos she released, during the pandemic, from her home here in Sweden, if you haven't. You'll really get to know her as a person, those videos are as lovely as she is.

Yeah Reunion is dutch show which is actually pretty awesome where they highlight someone who has made some sort of impression or achievements together with their old classmates at school... And talk about what they did.
And Floor... only learned about nightwish 4 days ago and it is haunting my dreams daily now in a good way. One of the best live voices I've ever heard.
Great reaction! The end of After Forever was a pretty big deal. As she said they had been together for a long time and were just starting to break through and become really big when the band broke up for legal and business issues that made it impossible for the band to continue. Unrelated to the band breaking up, Floor had also been in a relationship for 7 years with one of After Forever's founders and guitarist and they broke up shortly before the band broke up. Her song While Love Died from her Northward project is where she hid her anger and darkness from the end of that relationship. Definitely worth reacting to so you can see bad ass rocker Floor. Floor has said that she was in a dark place after After Forever ended and I can see that in her next band, Revamp's, aggressive music and lyrics. Floor suffered her burnout because she was doing everything in Revamp. Writing the music, managing the band, booking gigs, etc. It was too much and she exhausted herself.
Oh wow, that would be a lot to deal with.. Poor Floor. 🙁Well, it makes me feel even better to see her happy and so cheerful now. She really is a sweetheart..

Great choice Nikki, I like most people who commented think that Floor is a gift from god, she is so humble and caring like all of her bandmates. The music culture in Finland, the Netherlands and for most of Europe is so refreshing. I really haven`t followed many American bands for years as I have been obsessed with bands like Nightwish and Within Temptation as their music is meaningful and gets me through life whether it is a head banger or soft tone. As always I look forward to Thursday morning Nightwish reaction.

Such a wholesome video which as a bonus kinda confirmed what I suspected abt Kai: 8:38 he's a lefty (ambidextrous that is, which explains some of his technique). As to Floor's band After Forever.. When I saw them with (opening for) Nightwish, I really felt that AF showed more promise musically.
When you compare their second album (Decipher, 2001) to what Nightwish did around that time (Wishmaster, 2000; Century Child, 2002), which was basically power metal with "classical" vocals added (still nice tho, apart from the heavy accent), the difference is striking. After Forever was more prog metal oriented and it was no surprise that Floor was already working with Arjen Lucassen (the tall hippie dude from Ayreon). The material on YT can only do very limited justice to After Forever's incredible performances but of course, Nikki now has to see: "After Forever - Dreamflight Live ProgPower USA VIII (2007)" 🤘

This reunion was special, because it was the first ever class of the Rock Academy (in the Dutch town Tilburg).
Lost count how many times ive watched this and guaranteed i have tears every time so dont worry about tearing up. I'm ok until They first go to the stadium and then the tears start. Its weird that i dont know Floor but love her so much and feel as proud as her Mom and Dad of how down to earth she is. Such a lovely person inside and out. Thanks for watching this.

This video features Floor's class reunion of 1999 from the Dutch Rock Academy.
Floor attended the Dutch Rock Academy from 1996 to 1999.
By 1998 she had accumulated enough credits to attend the Conservatorium Tilburg for 2 years so she signed up and started on her last year with the Academy, so in 1999, she was going to both.
In 2001, she took one year of opera classes (where she met and became good friends with Simone Simmons from Epica), and one year of musical theater.

This video and the "5 Minute Friday" updates Floor did during the pandemic lockdown really gave fans a chance to see what a wonderful, humble, loving genuine person she is. She's paid her dues and earned everything she has. We're all the lucky ones to watch and listen to this beautifully awesome woman. The best thing Floor and Nightwish brings to all of us are great big smiles. How do ya beat that ? ?

Heh! My uncle was a classical flautist and my mother, his sister, would try and sit on the first row and suck on an orange to put him off, she still did that to him in her 50s :) It was a fun family 🤣

When you talked about her parents accepting her choice and fully supporting her through the whole process, I couldn't help thinking about 2 other parents, on the other side of the ocean, also accepting a choice and doing everything they could to help their 3 daughters reaching their dream of becoming professionnal rockstars ;-)

While I was listening to your reaction, I realized the meaning of "being at home" what Tuomas said. IMHO it does not mean "to be in Nightwish" but "to be on stage", no matter where or when. Together with previous Marko's words this makes perfect sense. If you want to hear some closer videos about Floor, you should look at Face Culture channel.
Its a shortened Version, there is also the full Version at YT, but as i remember without subtitles.
she's at home in Nightwish, she was just at the end of burnout when Nightwish called. I think Nightwish saved Floor, And Floor saved Nightwish. I don't know if we would still have Nightwish if Floor didn't join them.

Lanternlight is reckoned by previewers to be one of the best on the album.
Blabbermouth says "[Tuomas has written songs like] the impossibly gorgeous closer "Lanternlight" before, but never with such mastery."
Tuomas recommended listening to the album right through so your approach is right.

I think it was devastating for Floor to loose After Forever, but what got her burned out was the fact that she started ReVamp as a substitude...alone.. Writing the songs hiring musicians,, producing, performing, promoting. The team effort of yesterday was now all done by a one-woman show.
