  • What do you do with an extra laser engraver cnc machine kicking around the house? Obviously you turn it into some kind of drawing in the sand table that brings out your inner feng shui.

+10 points for admitting I need an entire wood shop to build this.

I don't know much about the laser, but you can get more silent stepper motor drivers for 3d printers. Like the TMC 2208 or 2209.

Looks great. If you added some led strip around the perimeter, it would look cool in the dark on a dim setting, with all the shadows of the sand dunes and reflections on the bearing. Under lit would be cool too.

Another ingenious and fun project. Oh yeah, the table looks great too.

Mrs has been asking me about this for days now, this video really helps, thanks. I believe the reason that they sent you two laser machines is so you can give one away to your subscribers but you are too greedy and kept them both lol

Beautiful work, dude! It really turned out amazing! 😃
It would be nice if there was some kind of sand that "changes color", accordingly to the light angle... But I really don't know anything like that. 😕
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Hello, and bravo for your work, amazing. I Don t know the aufero machine, juste à question, when the job is done, do we need a computer to run the table? Where is the code? In the aufero memory, on USB key? Thank you.

I got the machine for free so it wasn't my first choice. It unfortunately doesn't have a usb / SD card option so does require a pc hooked up to run. If I did it again it would be a must to have sd card reader / run code off the machine directly.

Need like a shaker motor to auto clear the sand.
Cool project though. Who knew this was a thing.

  • @gasubasu

Great work! The only thing that, in my opinion, is missing here is side lighting, without which the drawing on the sand is hard to see. You can try hiding the addressable LED strip around the perimeter under the glass to illuminate the sand texture from different angles.

get someone to hook this up to the internet, then we can all "print" on your sand table!!!

Only thing I would add is 1 or more small vibratory motors to reset it.

If you use baking soda instead of sand the features will be much “sharper”.

    • @kimely5821

Why drill 4 holes in each corner, couldn’t you just drill 1 larger hole in each corner?

    • @DIYBuilds
      @DIYBuilds  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Easier.
