As an SQ regular, this is the economy seat with my favourite IFE they have, because of the tablet-style remote control. I appreciate having a secondary screen to view flight info off. It’s available on all their 777-300ERs and most long-haul A350s with economy. Also gotta shout out that landing footage, that -300ER wing view will never get old for me ❤. Noticed flaps full came in a bit late, especially for that HND Rwy 22 approach.
yeah.. the 2017 economy product is far less superior as compared to this imo.... both legroom and seat design/comfort on them are far below the 2013 ones, wondering why they had to even change from such a good and comfortable seat to a terrible one. oh yeah the organisers are extremely weird too, especially the basket under the IFE is just weird partly why i'm not a fan of the current ver. sq a380s
@@vin34581 I dislike their B787 economy class seats. The seats are too narrow and the cushion padding is very thin. I actually prefer their 2007 and 2013 economy product.
@@maradona1012yes horrible legroom and seat width too. even on their medium haul 359s but at least the seat width is better than that of their 78Xs For the A380 I can't remember about legroom it's definitely the same poorly made economy seat. What a shame that they refitted all their active older 380s. Oh yeah the part under the IFE what SQ refers to as a 'phone holder'. what an absolute joke given that phones these days are bigger. even a 2014 iphone 6 plus can't fit there
welcome to the cabin of peasants. now this, is a proper review. honestly, many of us don't fly business at all so getting the review of economy class is much appreciated.
To be honest instead of better than most I regard SQ as the best airline in the world for their consistency of their quality product! And their 777 has my favourite economy seat. If you do get an extra legroom seat you don’t get a footrest though, but still great legroom and personally I do find their standard seat to have a bit of legroom. Great video as always Kevin🎉!
I really liked the extra info you gave. Like the runway animation, the info on Singapore and Tokyo, also the cruising altitude and flight speed. Real good. Point of difference from the millions of SIA reviews out there
Seen your name before but never watched a video until now. Incredibly impressed at your detailed and informative approach to describing an event for you tube. Quite excellent!
From what I can see Kevin is that SQ🇸🇬 along with the other East Asian 5 star Skytrax carriers HU🇨🇳JL/NH🇯🇵 KE/OZ🇰🇷 and CX🇭🇰 are equal or exceed each others services. If you are able to compare SQ🇸🇬 B777-312/ER to a PR B777-3F6/ER then the SQ version wins in terms of seat quality and service. Looking forward to your NH video. 11:31 you over flew CRK and the New Manila Airport.
Thanks for sharing. we were in the same flight in September last year. Dinner was a bit rushed as it was a red eye flight .Overall it was an enjoyable flight .That is the reason we will fly with Singapore Air again on our next trip to Viet Nam in December
Welcome to Singapore.. 😊 hope that we nvr dissapoint u... 😊 Anyway, Love it when u layout all the info in the Airport & Runway too.. Keep on doing this Kevin! 💪🏼
Excellent review. I've taken several hundred SQ flights since I was 6 y/o and barring a few flights, I didn't truly appreciate how good I had it until my first trip to Europe last year as a 23 y/o. Also I really hope you keep your channel the way it is. Most airplane review channels that get big tend to sell-out and become essentially advertising factories.
Hi, we always fly Singapore to the Philippines because when we change flights at Singapore Airport our gate is just round the corner. Unlike Hong Kong you had to go upstairs so you have to go through security and passport checks when flying with Cathy Pacific.👍🏾
Another class act Kevin and appreciate you doing a report on a mid haul Y flight. I have only flown Y in SQ and just in the last couple of years as I am mostly a OW guy. They are perfectly fine but a fair bit overrated. Y food is below Middle East carriers, JAL or TK and leg room is so tight in the newer planes. I am also Star Alliance Gold and agree status lounge is perfectly fine. A big issue with Star Alliance in general is no free seat selection. I am spoiled as OWE.
I'd been Star for years prior to the channel starting- Imagine my shock when I got ST Elite Plus and started getting seat selection for free! haha. Didn't know the concept existed at the time. Going for OW Sapphire this year.
Great video as usual. But come on, its time we get a walkthrough of the "Jewel" at Changi from you! ;) SQ seems fine as usual (although even they can have the occasional slip-ups, no airline is perfect after all, it's just that SQ has less mess up than most other airlines). About the IFE, I think CX offers more content than SQ, so in terms of movies, video games and other entertainment, CX trumps SQ. As for the econ meal, yeah I agree the tray and utensils could be better, but the actually food itself is not bad. In fact, I think SQ offers one of the best econ meals out there, taste and variety-wise. I'm also glad you landed on Haneda. Its a more scenic approach (not to mention more convenient for the passengers, being right next to urban areas), compared to Narita. It can be a pain to get from Narita to Tokyo if you factor in the traffic.
not sure why SQ is praised to the moon but similar to what you said, I personally find CX better overall. - thats coming from born and bred Singaporean
Thank you for the review, already looking forward to your ANA review which has no less than 5🩴 in the must watch score! Hope you were able to film the Japanese ground crew bowing and waving the plane goodbye ☺️ For me that already counts as 3 🩴
Yeah... that view. You still did well do get some nice shots though! On that note, this is one of the main reasons I am hesitant to book Premium Economy - so many airlines have their PE cabin smack bang on the wing. Anyway, thanks again for another great video!
Minimalism yes I love, but it needs to be up to date and pristine. I find many Aman properties to be pristine perhaps, but starting to look on the dated side of things- definitly not something I'd happily shell out $1500/night for.
Any chance we could get a review of AirAsiaX’s ‘business’ class ? Just tried it this January and it’s a fantastic no frills business class - you’re essentially just paying for the bed
Pretty sure I replied to this same question in another video some weeks ago...? As I said then, it is not one "thing"... I bought many different parts and pieced them together to create exactly the function that I needed for a phone.
The suction cup is a GoPro mount, the part physically holding the phone is an Ulanzi clamp and all of the small parts in between are generic unbranded hinges and bits. If using the Ulanzi clamp make sure you use padded cushions otherwise you will scratch the window since the clamp is all metal.
They really need to turn the cabin temp way down after meal services. I was sweating last flight and it was annoying to sleep even in the lie-flats because how hot it was.
wonder if this will be an unpopular opinion but i'd choose this over sq's a380 as the 2017 economy product is far less superior as compared to this imo. both legroom and seat design/comfort on them are far below the 2013 ones, wondering why they had to even change from such a good and comfortable seat to a terrible one. oh yeah the organisers are extremely weird too, especially the basket under the IFE is just weird partly why i'm not a fan of the current ver. sq a380s alongside being a sucker for 77ws
I prefer the A380 in economy simply becuase of the curvature of the aircraft walls so it does feel a bit more spacious for people with broad shoulders.
The fanning themselves is a horrible problem typical and unique to singapore airlines. They refuse to turn on the air conditioning during boarding and way into take off.

Great videi. Did you check in a bag. Were they steict with the checked bag and carry on weight. How was the customer service
Check-in baggage is always strict within 1kg, but absolutly not over 32kg. Carry on, I've never had SQ check the weight of before.

QANTAS does the same with status flyers. With gold members ushered into the QF clubs, which is waaaaaaay sub par compared to their Business lounges.
Really? On their website it says QF Gold/OW Sapphire get Intl Business Lounge Access.
@@tfft ah yes, INTERNATIONAL there's no QFC. So all gets access into business lounge.

Always get the port side window seat if you're flying to Tokyo from the south. You'll get a glimpse of Mount Fuji if the weather cooperates.

Whats your opinion on Aman Hotels? Do you like their whole “luxurious minimalism” over some of the more artsy/colorful hotels?
