Federer's game is powerful enough for a grand slam stadium as well as graceful enough to be a centerpiece in an art museum. Our generation was so lucky to have witnessed his game in flesh and bones!
The best forehand I have ever seen. With his grip and his sublime footwork he could put the same ball in pockets you thought weren't possible. A liquid whip. The racket head moved so smooth and so fluid. Great careers have been forged by evading the Federer forehand like death.
The level of mastery he had is unparalleled.. now when I look back at his videos I dont know why I feel like he is an under acheiver even after 20 grand slams.. He was that good
He got screwed by the ATP when they started slowing down the speed of the courts, especially hardcourts, circa 2009. His game is designed perfectly for a faster court so its no surprise. Pretty sad tho.
Almost wanna cry knowing well never see such mastry and aesthetically flawless superior technique and form. He is flawless form on EVERY fucking shot. Glad I found love and passion for tennis back in 2015 to watch the remainder of the big three dominance
Yes, that's one hell of a forehand. When Federer was younger and he hit the ball a bit flatter, the ball would even still be rising as it hit the back wall.
People don't realize, he's one of the best in history because of his hand eye and Footwork... There are over 100 guys on tour that can hit a forehand harder and better in practice... But none of them have even one major...
Look at his wrist!!! Also, notice the flexing and release of his leg muscles. If you are trying to learn how to hit a forehand, imitate Feds: off-hand calls your shot, use your whole body to power and whip through the ball as fast as possible, snap the wrist, and rotate through. He even leaves the ground for a second.
And guess who’s been inspired by this perfect Fore hand? Carlos Alcaraz, he’s improving it after every match. Federer for me has inspired a much better tennis than the others . Just the fact he rarely got injured says loads about his skill
I’m have taken like 30 lessons now and gosh this sport hard to master. Still a lot of fun though and also really impressive to see such slowmos. Although I think I will break half my bones if I try to imitate this. 😅
Notice how he begins rotation in his upper body first, it's like it creates huge momentum and acts like an extension lever su when the racquet makes contact there is more force from acceleration. Well, that's what I took out of this 😮
Can you link the video of this full practice session?
I’m planning on uploading it in the near future so stay subscribed!

True great reminder.
Probably the best forehand ever
I think so
I’m not sure he has the best anything of all time, but he has still the greatest for me. SAFIN or del po greatest forehands I’ve ever seen
@@kevinmac2298 del potros forehand is right up there with federer for me.
Del porto hits big and hard but his accuracy and consistency isn't even close to roger
No doubt about that

His forehead is the most efficient and most beautiful shot I’ve ever seen in tennis. It’s like a whip . So effortless and fluid. Poetry in motion
Best Forehead 😂
Best forehead among all tennis players, which is why he wears a headband.
Lol!
@@TheRealPingu😂
Probably said too often. But this is pure poetry in motion
I’m a huuuge Rafa’s fan, but Federer’s style is an art of beauty
It's the best forehand ever. Straight arm eastern grip, can take early on rise and generates incredible pace while hitting deep.
Federer hit with mostly a semi western grip like most pros. You’re describing Sampras’ forehand
@@kabob21nope
Eastern and that's been known for many years

King Roger❤
The finest forehand in tennis history, he gets a very unique whip action.
Wrist lag, balance, contact under ball, bend, body rotation all in a inch perfect follow through.....
absolutely gorgeous
I could watch that a thousand times.

Most unreadable forehand… he’s always facing the center line and bends his wrist really late, must be so frustrating to play against the goat 🐐
yupp its disguised his shoulders can make it look cross court or center, but a down the line comes and youre fucked
He has the best wrist action its amazing what he could do with the ball
Pure Magic. The GOAT ❤
Roger!!
This is exactly what I do

One of the greatest forehand of all time
The Maestro holding court.
he could hide the direction The best
There have been a lot of forehands over the years and this is my personal fav…..but nadal has the objectively goat forehand.
Literally in a trance listening to the music and watching Rodger in slomo
The technique on it is so perfect, you can learn just from watching Roger play
He makes his racket into a whip, so good
His forehand from 2003-2005 was better, so heavy and so precise, winners after winners
No one of the best, the best of all Times
Físico perfecto para el Tenis, estatura ideal y elegancia e sus movimientos

More of a topspin forehand. Can see it with racket face angle and ball spinning topside after contact.
