We love Andy and April so much we decided to put together a timeline of their ENTIRE relationship - from those awkward early first days all the way through to the season finale and baby Jack (spoiler alert!). Did we miss your favourite April and Andy moment? Let us know in the comments!
From "Parks & Recreation": a mockumentary series following Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler), the deputy director of the Parks and Recreation department in the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana. Leslie is determined to improve her small world through her job, despite resistance from Parks Director Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman), an anti-government Libertarian. The series also stars Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari and Retta.

@@jjmcallister9637 the “I totally get what you mean” line was improvised. After she said that line the director felt like there could be something between Andy and April and so the progress of those two getting together started

Andy and April's personality’s were so different but the same time they were so much alike and perfect for each other. They are soulmates that were so supportive of each other. Andy was the first time we got to see April smile.
I love these two cause its the first age gap relationship ive seen in the media that isn't weird, or where one character is taking advantage of the other.
It's a great example of some real age gap relationships.. sometimes people just match mentally... it's not always grooming or being creepy... April is mentally 30 and Andy is mentally younger than April😂😂😂

Definitely such an earnest and sweet start
One of the things I loved about these two is the behind the scenes work. The writers never planned anything with these two characters, but when Aubrey's improved line landed, it sent a lightning bolt into the writers. But they still didn't know how the two would connect, so they did something genius: they took the two actors, put them in a room together as their characters, and let them improv like crazy to see what would happen. It worked great, the actors and writers all found some footing, (and realized the two characters connected due to shared immaturity), and the parts that were really good made it into the show. No one really does this sort of thing in Hollywood due to money and time, but I think it was a really smart move, because April and Andy became two of the most endearing characters on the show.
April's face always gets me when Andy asks where the faces are haha I imagine she is thinking how much shorter the drive would've been to South Dakota instead of Arizona lol
The chemistry between them and the way they always look and talk to each other is so adorable! 🥰
Their wedding is actually sweet. It fits their personalities and they made it intimate without needing all the extra stuff.
April and Andy are so uniquely funny, sweet, weird, and complement each other so well.😊💗

Weirdly, April seemed to just get progressively prettier over the seasons

She was fairly young when the show started, playing a 19/20 year old college intern. Her beauty matured as she matured

It was fun seeing April find ways spend time with Andy (helping tom move, taking the job as Ron's assistant, etc.), back in Season 2.

Aw man you missed the S02E13 scene where she helps Andy sell some of his CD's, he says she's amazing and she looks at him in a way I wish every man had his wife look at them all the time. I mean, considering she was an amateur actress at the time, Aubrey is either a genius to play such an affection so perfectly or she had a real crush on Chris at the time. Or both.
I have to say it, he and Ann were not compatible. She complains that he was lazy and manipulative but I didn’t see her do him any favors. She also didn’t encourage him to get a job. She just enabled hin
Whereas April seems to fit Andy to a T.
I don't think it's fair to blame Ann for Andy's behaviour. She called him out on a lot of stuff he did while also looking after him in s1 despite having a full time job as a nurse. Andy's character in the 1st season was supposed to be a jerk, so its no surprise Ann broke up with him .
Also, he got together with April when he had had some character development and had been trying to set things right with Ann for some time - he didn't get Ann back but he improved a lot and ended up with April instead.
I like the character but it doesn't mean that he was a good character in season 1 or that his treatment of Ann was justified.
@@mansishukla6779 Exactly. Andy was a problem boyfriend. He was lazy, and as you say, he was supposed to be the jerk. I mean Ann did enable him too much. And in the end, they really weren't compatible, but that's not her Fault, it's just the way things are. Whereas Andy and April were compatible and both grew.
Andy needed to go eight years his younger to find an equal he could grow alongside.
She is the villian in every series she works in😂

I just started watching the series and it's one the best decision i have ever made
They did a great job with keeping the show innocently hilarious without making it corny. Definitely want to rewatch it soon. I'm just a procrastinator though 😅

But you know what i just thought about.
I love how over time the parks department was just so close in a way and supported each other even outside of the job at times as well.
I dont think April and Andy would've possibly made it work or there may have ended up being alot of break ups and makeups if not for the friendship and support of the others.
I feel the same way when it comes Leslie and Ben and Ron and Diane, it possibly would not have worked out the way it did or may have taken longer to be.

Nah man I got hyped from Yotube clips and it seemed really sweet and loved it but after that Venezuela trip and new boyfriend, all of it is tainted. All the innocence and sweetness of it disappeared, nothing actual or real would've happened after that. You don't go through second season end with geninune I like you (which was actually like i love you) then someone kisses you, you pull back and she goes away to some dude and dates. Then you are like oh cool let me try to win you back or whatever. That's just retarded. Nothing actually or geninune would happen after that which ruined it for me because I thought it would be pretty sweet and was a good build up and felt really sweet but not this classical super unreal bs. I know it's tv but just no point of following up cuz it's tainted and lost the innocence of it all.
