From a TV HDMI arc port, only 5.1 surround can be transmitted to the audio output device. Not more than that. However, 7.1 or lossless audio will be achieved when the signal first enters the sound output device and then the vidio signal goes to the TV. That's an important point.

Thank you for this great video. I am looking for some answers since 4+ months, hope you can help here. I have a Motorola ZX Pro TV, with a Boat 1500 Sound bar and an Airtel Xtreme set top box. Now currently i have connected TV ARC to Soundbar ARC and another HDMI cable with TV and set top box. Though ARC works at times but there are lot of issues, like sometime unable to control sound, though sound is muted it may play in high volume etc and most of the time it never works as well.. Could you please advise what is the best way to connect in this set up as i prefer HDMI arc for both Airtel as well as for TV. All OTT apps i watch it via TV and not through Set top box. All 3 devices have optical as well. Please advise the best way to make a set up so that i can get sound through my soundbar while watching DTH as well as OTT APPS from TV.

@ noel francis Okay. Actually Your TV supports pass through. I guess there is problem on cable. then you will try to connect the TV to DTH by HDMI cable and connect the TV to soundbar in optical cable. Always use High speed HDMI and optical cable. otherwise you may face problem
@@sahootechnoguide I have tried all sorts of cable like 1.4,2.0 etc and all high quality ones. The surprising part is the same set up is working for my friend. If I disconnect dth all works great. I had the same issue with my hisense tv and marq sound bar as well. I wanted to try and avoid using optical as I don't want to use 2 remote. Any other suggestions bro

Sir I have lg tv and JBL soundbar ,connected with optical audio out but sometimes the sound stops . I tried switching to tv's internal speaker but sometimes that also doesn't work the soundbar plays sound when I connect my phone via aux and Bluetooth but tv audio is giving problem . Hello brother i have a Samsung tv it has two hdmi ports hdmi stb & hdmi dvi port and an aux connection i recently purchased a soundbar boat avante 1300 2.0 Chanel soundbar which has multiple connections hdmi arc aux and optical unfortunately my tv supports only one connection that is auxiliary and it produces a decent sound quality i was wondering how much difference would it make if my tv had hdmi arc support i mean is there a huge difference in the sound quality is there really a major noticeable difference you can feel or its a minor difference

From a TV HDMI arc port, only 5.1 surround can be transmitted to the audio output device. Not more than that.
However, 7.1 or lossless audio will be achieved when the signal first enters the sound output device and then the vidio signal goes to the TV.
That's an important point.
My 32" TCL smart tv has one HDMI ARC & other is normal HDMI.
My soundbar has only one HDMI ARC port & no other HDMI ports,it has opticle & aux.

Thank you for this great video. I am looking for some answers since 4+ months, hope you can help here. I have a Motorola ZX Pro TV, with a Boat 1500 Sound bar and an Airtel Xtreme set top box. Now currently i have connected TV ARC to Soundbar ARC and another HDMI cable with TV and set top box. Though ARC works at times but there are lot of issues, like sometime unable to control sound, though sound is muted it may play in high volume etc and most of the time it never works as well.. Could you please advise what is the best way to connect in this set up as i prefer HDMI arc for both Airtel as well as for TV. All OTT apps i watch it via TV and not through Set top box. All 3 devices have optical as well. Please advise the best way to make a set up so that i can get sound through my soundbar while watching DTH as well as OTT APPS from TV.

Actually Your TV supports pass through. I guess there is problem on cable.
then you will try to connect the TV to DTH by HDMI cable and connect the TV to soundbar in optical cable.
Always use High speed HDMI and optical cable. otherwise you may face problem
@@sahootechnoguide I have tried all sorts of cable like 1.4,2.0 etc and all high quality ones. The surprising part is the same set up is working for my friend. If I disconnect dth all works great. I had the same issue with my hisense tv and marq sound bar as well. I wanted to try and avoid using optical as I don't want to use 2 remote. Any other suggestions bro

Sir I have lg tv and JBL soundbar ,connected with optical audio out but sometimes the sound stops .
I tried switching to tv's internal speaker but sometimes that also doesn't work the soundbar plays sound when I connect my phone via aux and Bluetooth but tv audio is giving problem .
The problem gets solved and tv sound resumed when I switch off the tv or connect any other device with the soundbar but this is becoming a problem.
Please help and tell where the problem is tv or soundbar.

bro my mitv has 1 hdmi arc port and my samsung soundbar 2.1 has only optical port .if I use hdmi converter/extractor will I get Dolby digital 2.1 or dts . As my soundbar supports LPCM and Dolby digital and dts.

Hello brother i have a Samsung tv it has two hdmi ports hdmi stb & hdmi dvi port and an aux connection i recently purchased a soundbar boat avante 1300 2.0 Chanel soundbar which has multiple connections hdmi arc aux and optical unfortunately my tv supports only one connection that is auxiliary and it produces a decent sound quality i was wondering how much difference would it make if my tv had hdmi arc support i mean is there a huge difference in the sound quality is there really a major noticeable difference you can feel or its a minor difference

On my Yamaha avr why it is showing PCM ? When i click straight(Raw content) on remote. It should show DD/DTS
Even if i am playing 5.1 DD DTS etc. content on TV.

Setting on TV set to Digital Out (DD/DTS)

Always set in Pulse Code Modulation(PCM) in this mode you can get sound up to 5.1 in non dolby content
If you will set Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital plus, in some non dolby content you will get only 3 channel sound or no sound in AV receiver
Better set in PCM or if you are watching any Dolby content, just manually set the Audio out

Thanks Sir, Ive 9800 zebronics and my tv doesn't have hdmi arc but only hqve HDMI ports. Ive connected htmi to hdmi arc in the bar. The output is coming but when I switch to dolby digital it shows "Dobly Surround" for 3 seconds and then move back to ARC.
Also the sound gets huge base while switching to dobly digital
