I’d argue the opposite. Since it is the world’s most popular sport it literally has dozens of leagues where the average player is making a comfortable living. There are a lot of sports that only have a couple leagues where this is possible, if not just one. And in some sports even the Olympic champion has to work full time to pay bills

Yeah I’ve done gymnastics when I was younger and now doing football and wrestling and wrestling is the hardest out of all them. Though gymnastics , diving and possibly hockey is like a difference kind of hardness. Like you can’t just start gymnastics when you join you have to start pretty young and it takes years to learn the moves but it just isn’t competitive. Gymnastics compared to wrestling when it comes to competitive makes gymnastics like a baby class. You have people cutting 20 pounds just to get an edge not eating for 2 weeks people who are training every day and it’s a convoy sport so you have to be mentally tough and on the edge

Boxing, it’s available and popular everywhere as well as very inexpensive. The amount of dedication and training is beyond insane but still cheap, jumping rope, hitting the bag, running, push ups/sit ups. It requires little to no equipment but restless training. Every country is involved and there are weight classes from the biggest to the smallest can complete. It’s also all on you if you loose you can’t blame a teammate or coach it was you and another man in the ring no more no less. The strength, speed, resilience endurance hand eye coordination are unmatched anywhere. At the end of the day win or loose your going to need days to weeks of recovery from one match and take punishment like no other sport can dish out. Boxing is and has always been the most accessible and hardest sport to to master. Thats why when someone looks like they shouldn’t be walking because there so beaten and damaged behind belief people say he looks like he just went 12 rounds instead of 3 periods, 9 innings or 4 quarters. Let’s put it this way as a nobody given a chance to complete at highest level what’s the one sport you wouldn’t pick? I’m betting you’d be on the soccer field not in the boxing ring.

      @gregawallace ปีที่แล้ว

@@serpany2044 I like mma and true your probably not going to break an arm or leg boxing, but in boxing the blows are much harder because the hand is more protected and they are better strikers they also average over three hundred thrown punches a bout. An mma bout is 15 min of fight time a boxing match is 36 to 45 min of fight time. While I completely agree your body will almost certainly take more damage in an mma bout, boxing is overall more physically demanding as far as stamina and endurance, adsorbing many more and much harder blows (with the exception of knee/leg strikes) Boxing is also much more technical more of a mental game they have to play while taking blows to the head. I completely respect mma and mma fighters do have to deal with worse injuries i honestly believe boxing is an overall harder sport.

  • @stevecormier1514

Boxing and hockey are the toughest sports to play physically to the body when it comes to physical endurance and stamina. Been playing hockey for 20 years. Every time I play after 5 min I get sick and my heart and lungs hurt like you wouldn’t believe. People have died through having heart attacks right on the ice. Look at the amount of time per shift. Sometimes less than a min then they do a line change. With basketball and soccer players can stay on the pitch or hardwood for almost the entire game. When you talk skill then it’s different but hardest physically is hockey and boxing. Boxing. Try to stand there and throw punches as hard as you cam for as long as you can. You will exhaust yourself in 15 seconds. A title belt consists of 45 min Its unbelievable. Boxing number 1. Hockey number 2. Soccer/ football. You stay on the pitch the whole game. It’s a game of chess a patient waiting game most of the time woth a lot of time to recover while your in the game

Formula one - The reason I am saying this is because you have to be athletic to overcome 4,5, or even 6 g’s is very hard and you have to he very strong to do that but you cant be to strong and big you will have to cut weight like wrestling. You also have to have very quick reactions for turning corners at 160 mph and reacting fast when overtaking and stuff. It is also a very dangerous sport and if you get hurt you have one of the highest rates of dying in sports. It is also very hard and takes lots of time and money to get into formula one about 20-30 million dollars without sponsors so you will probably need rich parents. There is a lot of traveling in f4 to f2 and even more traveling in f1. This isnt my favorite sport so Im not being biased. My favorite sport is baseball but is not nearly as hard as f1.

Football is the most hardest sport in the world because of its intensity to win, that's why there are some moments which is unpredictable, and the GIANT KILLING concept exists from Football. Football can be played by tall or short people. No stereotypes on anyone when it comes to dominance. Even if you're slow, you could beat fast players through your skill. That's why football is the best recommended sport for anyone.
And also, the creativity of Football comes from countless numbers of football tricks and skills unlike in other sports where the movement is restricted. In football, only a ball is needed and the only restrictions to touch the ball was from arms to fist. So, the touch for the ball has limitless and countless unlike in basketball, "lifting rule" was there, that's why you couldn't enjoy too much in the ball. So, there's countless and limitless freedom for football when you touch the ball. The countless number of freestyle football tricks and skills are more abundantly high number than basketball or other sports. So that's why Football is the most hardest sport in the world. And also, I said creativity because you could do more football tricks possibly while you're in the game. That's why Football has more widened intensity in creative intelligence that has effect of it as its beauty so you need to have wide intelligence to play football.
If you want to play simple motion but hard, play chess because you only move with only your hands while sitting but football is much more than that because you move and run and walk while thinking.
Football is the game of intelligence (tactics and formations), creativity (countless execution of football tricks exhibition), strength of spirit (that's why football is such a low scoring sport), freedom with less restrictions (unlike in basketball there are 24 second violation in ball handling, 3 second violation in standing only which pressures more restrictions and proper way of handling the ball with lifting rule which is not the case in Football that's why I could do what I want in Football as my Freedom oh my goodness) and consistency (even you play football in the street a goal counts only 1 point and there's nothing more than that. A win is a win and a loss is a loss, that's why you need to work hard for it. Don't think to throw and throw points. Just win. Scoring goals will be a natural reaction) . ⚽

Gymnastics is a sport that combines so many athletic disciplines in one package, including, but not limited to flexibility, strength, balance, co-ordination, air-awareness, fitness and speed.
Most sports require one or the other. e.g. you don’t see footballers, athletes renowned for speed and strength doing a split-ring or a switch leap in the middle of a game. So gymnastics requires an all-round package that many athletes don’t have, simply due to specialisation and sport-specific strengths. It is very difficult to maintain strength and flexibility at the same time, due to the body’s nature of strengthening ligaments when muscles are strengthened (as to prevent injury). Gymnasts have to maintain their flexibility and conditioning for up to several hours a day, with their entire body, as it has been shown that they use every single muscle group in the body at different times. When I started gymnastics, I learnt to squeeze muscles that I didn't even know I had.
Gymnasts also have to be mentally, some of the toughest athletes. Mental blocks happen, and the sport is scary. From trusting your body to rotate on both axis, when you hurtling are up to 20ft in the air, to catching a thin bar after doing a release while flying. Gymnasts are also renowned for being tough on themselves, as the sport is all about precision, and doing the right thing at the right time. There is a certain place for every part of your body to be during every skill, from your toes, to you hands to your head, and simply put, if you aren't a perfectionist you won't score well, and in big competitions, failing to point your feet during a skill may well be the difference between winning gold and not even making podium.
Competing on several events is also a lot harder than you may think. Every single event is so different, and could even be classed a new sport in and of itself. Each one uses different skills and needs a different mentality approaching it, i.e. some events, such as rings or bars call for strength, while others, like beam and floor require grace and power. This means that in one competition, gymnasts challenge every aspect of their athleticism, while in other sports, your task is the same throughout the whole competition or game.

You’re not looking on how they’re being ranked, yes it is really hard in somethings but doesn’t cover a wide range of the physical stuff like muscle power endurance or flexibility. Gym is extremely hard but it isn’t and ranks lowly as a tennis player you’ve obviously never tried or watched a professional match, matches go on for 4 hours using all your muscles to hit the ball as hard as possible, you need to make split second decisions and sprint and run around the court every point devoting all your power just to get one game, gym is way shorter and yes you need to do hard stuff too but imo tennis is harder and deserved that 7th spot

Do any of you even know how many fights go on in the nhl? I’d give an estimate of about 15-25 a WEEK. Almost every one of those hockey players that are fighting can take punches over and over again until they HAVE to be broken up by the refs. They also deal with pucks that are flying at 100km+ to the face, knees and ankles, and get up just fine. This shouldn’t even be that hard to choose. Hockey is number 1.

Hockey is also a very hard sport, financially as well as ot takes around 200 dollars to get equipment, you have to learn how to skate, and stick handling and basic wrist shots were pretty hard as well, then you have to go though more advancments and you need to work out a lot and get good stamina because you're going to get ripped apart in there.

You started by saying ''to ask the right question is already half the solution of a problem'' , and you used the definition of sport to ''exclude'' complexity in favor of competivity to end up saying ''my sport is the toughest one because there's more people playing it'', while complex is litteraly a synonym of ''difficult'', so by acknowledging that hockey is the most complex, you answered your question already because you didn't ''ask the right question'' to end up with soccer being the toughest.
The question you should have asked if you wanted your answer to match the thesis is ''in which sport is it the hardest to make it up to the best professionnal league ?'' because if you think about it, yes there's way more soccer player worldwide because it's cheap, but there's way more professional soccer leagues too whereas there's only 1 NBA and tens of millions of poor kids playing it in the US since it's even cheaper than soccer to play. In France alone there's Ligue 1, Ligue 2 and Ligue 3 (i'm excluding Ligue 4 and others because they don't get paid 5000 euros per month to play whereas Ligue 3 players do) For a country of rougly 75 million people. There's only one NBA and one NFL, for a country of 350 million people.
Otherwise, a panel of sport scientists from the US olympic comitee already answered the question in a vast study years ago : it's boxing and all MMA/fight sports, followed closely by hockey at #2. You can't say they're biased because they're american otherwise they would have said american football or basketball. Soccer ended up being 7th if my memory serves me right. If you're unbiased you can do a little tought experiment that confirms it easily for hockey : if you take a group of pro players of every sport and ask them to play a casual game of every other sport, hockey would be the only one nobody would be able to play : learning to skate is like learning to swim, at 5 years old it's alright but at 30 it's tough to learn, and once you know how to skate it's like ''yay I learned how to walk'' you're not playing hockey yet. And the faster you ''walk'' the harder it gets, and when you reach a certain level other players are allowed to behead you in the middle of the ice when you're skating at 30km/h.
I'm a soccer player first, but if you discard hockey in a discussion like this one, it's because you never played it so can't fathom how difficult it really is. You think Messi is agile with a ball ? Ask him to run 3 times faster and do it with a ball with a diameter of 7cm, but he can't look down or he dies.

Some people cant even run a 400m on the track and in practice we gotta sprint 4x400 meters as a set sometimes

Here is an argument that is pretty definitive and hard to argue against. It mostly measures time-on-field per match, substitutions, and an entire team on field with you, how long an off season last, or doesn't in this case, and how long a career last.

basketball is easily the hardest to master. to master it, it requires so much intelligence on the court like having court vision, handles, dribbling, shooting, passing, etc. not to mention hustle as well. i played D1 before and its so intense that even the best players on my team couldn't even get into the nba. im only 6'0 so i have rely on my skills like ball handling, speed and create space to get my shot off and that takes a lot of agility and stamina. just my opinion though

Any sport can be hard to master. Your argument is that basketball is hard to master because of the amount of competition in the sport, not that the sport itself is hard to master

I think golf is the hardest sport to master. The difference between a perfect shot and a horrible shot is millimeters and doing it with consistency is one of the hardest things to do in sports.

I don't agree hockey is way harder then soccer just skating it's already one level up because anybody can run but staking you must learn from a young age. If you put and average Joe in any sport soccer America football (for fun) basketball baseball tennis volleyball ect... He is physically able to play because he's on flat ground. Ice hockey you have to skate at young age before you pick up a stick and learn anything else.

bowling is a vey tough sport im a bowler sure its easy to just chuck a ball down a lane but to do it at a high level and being acurate on a regular basis is extremely difficult especially with changing oil patterns and lanes being different

Swimming. Swimming is the all around, most difficult financially, mentally, socially and physically. It also is not a professional paying sport. Before Phelps, the whole of swimming ran off of advertising and donations. Meaning you are swimming for yourself, because it's not just a job, it's for the fame and glory.
Depending on the stroke of choice, every single muscle in your body is pushed to the extreme, not just muscles either. Lungs and brain too.
You are breathing less than half the time, when your heart, brain and muscles need the most oxygen. Watch some videos, all elite swimmers down to the 8 year olds, train to hold your breath for extended periods of time at peak pace. When you get to breath, it is for a fraction of a second inside a humidity filled pool. Watching a black line on the bottom of the pool for up 10000 yards a workout. You can't hear the cheers, you can only see the person next to you, you don't know how fast you are going, or if your split time has gotten better or worse. Hoping your goggles stay on during the dive. Essentially naked in crowds and on TV. Access to having a pool or team is rough too. More than half the world can't swim and don't want to swim. When you look at a swimmers body, there is no fat, our muscle distribution is scary looking, girls don't like looking like that. 😅 Elite swimmers almost always have a genetic link that is seen across the board in every country. Depending on your stroke, those genetics are enhanced. Butterfly and freestyle people are always tall, and shoulders to finger tips are wider than you are tall, have longer and leaner torsos and hips (making that part of the body able to streamline on top of the water, dropping the hips is aerodynamically harmful) we are built like a brick house. Sprinters have very broad ribs cages, generally meaning the Lungs are bigger, not just trained more, but born with larger Lungs. Chlorine is your scent, hair is brittle, blonde hair is green, haha 😄
    Anyways...thats my 2 cents
