So Basically If you want to improve your speed of thought/play and build up your instinct play lots of small sided games with people who are close or better than your level. Cone drills are good but they only help with your technique. If only i had people to play small sided

To say athleticism isn't that important is simply not true. Messi the greatest player possibly of all time and CR7 the only other player who could Messi a run for his money were both world class athletes. It does matter. And it matters a lot depending on your position.
