I think you guys are conflating risk and risk tolerance. Risk is objective, pretty measurable , risk tolerance is how much a person can/is willing to take and requires much more subjective personal judgement. Risk varies asset by asset no matter who’s taking it on. Risk TOLERANCE varies person to person, regardless of what the asset is. What he is doing is extremely risky, he has a higher risk tolerance which is good for him, but what he’s doing is no less risky because he’s doing it instead of a broke college student like me.
Yes I think the term was conflated but his sentiment is preserved, exactly as you said, more in line with tolerance, totally agreed!
