The knowledge of 'you need to make a "new" house', along with your old one is so helpful.
I did not understand the building until that set in and I realized to just make the og house small, then make the new house as big as wanted

I was immediately inspired by your thumbnail because this is the type of exterior I was planning to build, but I was struggling to find the fitting aesthetics to make it cohesive. I know how to work the menu but this is a great guide for those less in the know.

Thank you for a simple video that didn't waste any time telling me what i needed to know. I was very confused about how this worked and was afraid it would be hard like the sims, and I'd be stuck with a horrible block house when i needed more room😅

Yup! You might have to build a new building though, or at least add a doorway between buildings!

Is it possible to completely delete the house so you can start from scratch? Never mind I figured it out
Wait what about the starter home does that just stay or can it be renovated as well or can it be deleted.
It can be all three! Left alone, renovated, or just removed altogether
It looks so easy to do on pc. On the Nintendo Switch, it's really difficult. Can somebody please tell me how to edit the interior of the house? I haven't seen any option to do so.
Oh thank GOD. I was expecting a Portia system and not a Sims style system so I full on panicked and I’ve just used the preset on the switch for now but I have to keep shimmying past all the furniture I’ve crammed in there 😫
Can you change wallpaper/flooring inside or is that only via the dlc packs?

How do you expand the first house you have?
You do it the same way except you build against your existing house. I wanted to start from scratch so built a separate building.

I noticed you avoided building on your workshop. Is it supposed to be separate or do you combined it with the big house all in one or separate?
@@twixbar90 I just got rid of the workshop and made the house my new home/workshop combo.
Is the home kit a one-time use thing, or can it be reused indefinitely?
It can be reused indefinitely! You’re basically just unlocking it permanently
@@BodinTheGreatGaming Thanks! I got it on a low-market day, and man was it worth it! My only gripe is how the names of things like doors and windows are cut off, and I can't figure how to get a full description to show. I love this game though, even more than I loved Portia. I find it incredibly rewarding. Also, as a side note, I like mining SO much more because of the highly visible ore nodes in the abandoned ruins! It makes things MUCH easier for me, as a low-vision gamer.
@@seamarie3111 So happy you were able to! Don't hate me, but I never played Portia 😂 I don't know why I never did, I just never got around to it!
@@BodinTheGreatGaming LOL, of course not! Portia got me through a 5 class, 13-14 credit hour semester in 2018 when it was still in EA. While I remain very fond of it, Sandrock has some awesome quality of life improvements, mining chief among them for me. I HATED mining in Portia. Finding a vein of ore was up to luck because the color blended in with the other stone for me, so I'd go down there for days and have mining be almost or completely fruitless. Also, the characters look better in Sandrock IMO. However, at least the main character in Portia was voice-acted more than just grunts, which I hope they do for Sandrock. I love voice acting, even if it's expensive and difficult, because then I don't have to read, which is a strain on my eyes after awhile. I so appreciate the devs for adding that in! Even if devs can't afford actual voice actors, I'd not mind an option to turn on artificial TTS for dialog. I'd think that something like that would cost very little. They could just create the clips externally and patch them in like they do for voice acting. Then again, what do I know? I'm not a dev! Still, it's my low-vision gamer dream to have games with self-voicing menus, inventory, and dialog ... The games wouldn't be accessible to a totally blind audience, which would be much more difficult to pull off, but that would be a great quality of life feature for those with low vision, like me, or perhaps those with reading difficulties. Sorry, I got off-topic, LOL! Got on my soap box a bit ...
@@seamarie3111 I hear that! Minecraft was the game that pretty much got me through my college classes back in ~2013, just so relaxing. Was great for destressing. Yeah, I'll admit I love a good voice option assuming you can chose different variations. But like you said, that's a bit more expensive for a dev. I'd love to be able to get into voice acting one day haha. I've done some screen acting so have some experience!

You can yes! I honestly missed it in the video I made, but if you notice towards the end of the video when I'm in the interior build mode there's a button at the top left that says "Change Material". You just click that to change the interior wallpaper!
In the game they say I can get a stable and own my horse. But I've looked around just confusing?
I don't think they've added that, that dialog is likely in place for a future update.
Said I get my own stable and my own ride instead renting one.
you need to go to the construction shop and build it. It requires a lot of materials and gold, so i dont think ppl can actually build it before level 20
And I remember to build a Sandwall and I choose it and seen it on the screen.
Then when I ran home nothing happened? How do I accept it and finish the wall yes that's confusing too. The whole construction instructions is so confusing. I wanna expand my home and edit my inside of my home too??
@@xenogearsx9372 For the sandwall, once you accept/buy it (although she said it would be for free O_o) you have a green button near the gate of your workshop, to rise it.

Unfortunately you will have to get your workshop to level 5
So you can't upgrade the house. You need a new one xD.
