I am Indian and I think the German minister should follow the protocol. Rules are rules. Aren't we citizen get checked when we are entering in premises like mall, railway station or any crowded areas. She is wrong in this scenario.
I would like to correct you: It IS protocol, that no ambassador or national minister ever and anywhere has to undergo physical checks or show their purse content. That goes for any nationality. It is international protocol. Bodyguards, media, lower diplomats - all of them have to strip down, but never ministers, presidents or ambassadors. It was the security that broke protocol. And I do not blame the country - just one person overstepped the line for a few seconds. Hence the reaction of the minister and ambassador was correct.

My point is if an Indian former president is searched at a US airport, an ex-US president must also go through screening in india.

Why Germans don’t want to be security checked? And why Pakistan let this delegation go to Prime Minister without security check. If this German delegation were in any other country would that they showed the same attitude. There must be something inside the purse which they do not want to disclose. May be recoding devices. Actually it's not an ego problem. The German ambassador came to meet PM of pak in order to grant aid to pak in million dollars and on top of that security was asking her to checkup. That's why the ambassador said," ok ,bye bye" , cause it's the need of pak to meet the ambassador for grants and not vice versa. Diplomatically also ,u can't check into ambassador, that's a protocol.

The ministers are diplomats. Their bags and luggage should never be checked or X-ray scanned. This is against the rules of Vienna convention on diplomatic relations. It's followed by all the host countries around the world on any visiting diplomats. Even airport security not allowed to touch or X-ray diplomatic bags. Please do some research before commenting.
