    Hi, really great shots at the beginning!!! I have been to Nanjing and I liked it, stayed at one of the nicest hotels there, I forget the name right now, good people and vibe. U should do a video a day, u will get big. Maybe do a video about your coffee maker? Looks like a decent one, make a cup share some of that info, show people coffee is available in China :) peace be with you from Thailand.

      Hey thanks for the comment Lance. Yeah I want to post videos at least 3 days a week - not sure about daily, but maybe. Do people really not know you can buy coffee beans in China? You are the second person to comment asking about the coffee situation in China. Yes, my coffee maker is awesome! Game changer!

      @@xiaoandmatt people are retarded, they probably think u can't get a hamburger in China :) even a 1-2 min. video a day is good, just saying u r in a unique place at a unique time, i have lived in China for many years and am outside, so it is cool to see things there, good luck! peace.

    In the eyes of the Chinese, if Beijing is the capital of the north, Nanjing is the capital of the south. In fact, in China's thousands of years of history, Nanjing has been the capital of more than a dozen dynasties. Nanjing is located in an economically developed region of China. While having a profound historical background, its economic strength is also very good. The humanistic environment is also very suitable for life. It is an old brand Chinese city without shortcomings. Congratulations on finding the treasure.

    ok DKK 4,600 Danish kroner. there is the same as I give for mine which is the same type of apartment. but mine is a bit bigger. the rooms are the same size. but the living room and kitchen are larger. so yes, it was nice to have peace of mind about what it will cost for a normal apartment. my partner in Tianjin is much bigger but it also costs more. but thanks for showing the difference. now I'm a little more calm. I would be able to pay for such an apartment alone. if it were to go wrong. And happy new year to you all and family

    My senior middle school is not so far from your apartment which is in west of the River (he xi) . That’s the reason why Jian Ye District is my favorite place in Nanjing. He Xi is clean and quiet, hope you have good life here.

      Thank you!! I’m not really involved with expat activities, but there are several bars where foreigners go that have WeChat groups like Secco and Wing Station. If you go there you can get added to their group chats.

    Hey Matt. I enjoy the videos. I have an offer for working in Nanjing and they are offering 27k pre-tak with 3500rmb untaxed for housing. I am just by myself, so is this amount good to find a decent place?

    • @xiaoandmatt
      @xiaoandmatt  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Bill. It depends where in the city you want to live. If the school you are working at is in Jiangning, Xianlin or Pukou or other areas that aren't downtown, 3,500 RMB will be enough for a place bigger than mine. If your school is downtown you can still find a one bedroom for 3,500.

      @@xiaoandmatt my school is in the Qixia district so I would like to stay as close as I can to that. I only need a one bedroom. I would actually spend a little more for a nice condo with a killer view. I used to live in Foshan and that is what I had there. I am looking forward to coming back. @@xiaoandmatt How bad is the air pollution? I have to get out and walk everyday for at least 30 minutes. Are you able to do that most of the time? Or do you also have a gym membership. Also, I have to eat healthy. Do you find it easy to eat healthy there?

    • @xiaoandmatt
      @xiaoandmatt  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@billpayne1126 No there are still some foreigners in Nanjing, but just not that many. My friend lives in Qixia in a newer and bigger place than mine and he pays 4,000 RMB per month, so I think you can easily find something new and nicer than mine for 3,500. There is a ton of new apartments there.

      @xiaoandmatt  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@billpayne1126 The pollution in Nanjing isn't that bad on most days. It is much better than it was about 5-8 years ago. I used to run 5 days a week here with no problem. I used to have a gym membership but I don't at the moment. Yeah you can eat healthy in Nanjing. There are a ton of food options.

    Hi Matt. Great video and great apartment !. I'm from Ireland and I will be traveling to Nanjing in March/April for 4 weeks to teach in NUIST University. Hotel accommodation is supplied but, I would prefer a self-catering apartment. Is it possible to rent a space like this for a 4 week period ? Mike

    Hi, I wanted to go there but whats their form of transportation and do they speak English? Should I download an app to help translate? Your advice is greatly appreciated 🙏

    • @xiaoandmatt
      @xiaoandmatt  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Tammy, they have a metro, buses, taxis, didi (and other raid hailing apps) as well as city bikes all over the city. Most people don't speak English very well, but I lived in China for years with very little Chinese ability. It wasn't until I was here for about 2 years that I could really speak Chinese and I survived. People are quite friendly and helpful. You can download an APP called Pleco and Youdao to help you translate.

    Apartment rent ?

    • @xiaoandmatt
      @xiaoandmatt  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This place is a bit expensive because of it's location. We payed 4,900 RMB per month, but you can find places this size for less than 3,000 RMB a month depending on the location.
