This song reminded me of my aunts life, where she was always doing drugs and always in a terrible relationship with someone who was laying their hands on her and beating her day in day out and so these songs hit me fairly hard, and it's not easy to get emotion like that out of me 😢. Ren read in a newspaper about a young prostitute (she walked the streets about a thousand times and wanted to escape, can you blame) killed by a boy.
This was his inspiration for the first song, the other tales were written jears apart from each other.
He transformed the story he read into these masterpieces.
That's crazy, and that's why he's such an amazing artist

I remember being so upset & angry listening to “Violet’s Tale”, Stevie beating Violet to death. I still tear up listening to the Tales. The performance by Ren here is Epic. My second favorite song(s) by Ren. Great reaction!!

This is the best reaction I've seen ever to the tales.!!! You was spot on with the medieval sounds,its more so prevalent in Violet's tales,those two riffs before the hammer on, tap on and, pull offs part.
You got the storyline from the off,a lot of people don't pick it up so quickly, you missed the rewind the hands of time rewind that Ren did up the neck of the guitar, and the forward-wind at the end of the spoken word part once his outside the building. You'll catch that on your watch through.

Saw the flinching when it got violent in Violet’s tale, I felt the same way when I first saw it. Hard to watch. The tale starts dark but you don’t realise how truly dark it is until the end. It is about inter-generational violence with the poisoned chalice being passed down from parents to children. Ren was inspired to write this after reading a newspaper article about a young prostitute who was killed. There is a more fun Ren if you want a break from the dark stuff!

Ren is a modern day bard painting such vivid imagery with his storytelling that it pulls you in and forces you to keep watching - even when it gets physically uncomfortable during Violet’s Tale. And Ren uses this ability to shed light on far too real issues in the world. Ren is special.

It is upsetting, and you would have to have a heart of stone not to be affected in some way by these tales. My mum told us that crying for yourself is self-pity and unacceptable, but shedding a tear for the plight of others shows that you really care.

It might interest you to know that Ren's father plays the lute and the lyre in a group which plays 12th and 13th century court music, so I think that is where he gets some of his chord and note choices from.

It's the pause.. while your brain has to fill in the history of the kids... mother died, father (probably) in prison, probably put into foster system and split up... it all goes through your brain as you try and reconcile the story. It's fascinating to watch.

still half way through so not commenting on the whole reaction but the "Clocked out like Big Ben" I always find ironic as the clock is not called Big Ben. Ben is the bell inside the tower :)
