This is Australia not the US, those redback spiders are not native to the US... so why would anyone be bitten there?! Pretty stupid. When I was 6 I had that SAME toy truck and I took it inside to wash it an I remember flipping it over and there were like 20 black widows under it, I screamed and ran.
We had a unused transformer sitting at the back of my old work (due to someone misordering). We opened that thing up one day to show all the new guys the tap connections. There was at least 300 redbacks and more sacs that I felt comfortable with. Someone ended up buying that transformer a few months after. No idea if anyone got hurt, but I was not getting anywhere near it.

The next thing you notice is it's very heavy and the last thing you notice is they tend not to rust out like todays 'modern' Tonka Trucks. I can only assume making them totally awesome is not good for selling lots of toys. If they only last a few years it has you going back for more. Toy company wins..you lose. Then again there is no law against making a profit.
watching this made me remember when I was around 8 and I saw a Black Widow/Redback on my porch and I thought it was dead so I poked it with a leaf, then it started jumping while still in a curled up position and it made me jump back at least a foot because it almost hit me in the face then my dad stepped on it. that was the first and only time so far for me to see a black widow/redback in Oklahoma, ever since then I've have a miled fear of large spiders...

The extra arms in front of a spider's legs are a sensory appendage called pedipalps. In males, the pedipalps end in a large, hardened ball, which act as their reproductive organs during insemination with females. So, yes, those two smaller ones were males. :) I'm not a spider expert, but I am an ecology major, so I hope that helps!

A vacumn cleaner with hose and nozzis gets them easily contained. Good also for fruit fly infestations. Big flys are too fast.

I Live in Melbourne and I have only ever had 1 redback spider, 2 huntsmens and about 150 daddy long legs in my house.
Daddy long legs are hommies.
Skyzone Gaming daddy long legs eat other spiders including redbacks and White tails
not all spiders are pests.
the reason being, all those daddy long legs kept the red backs out, they kill them for you! Long live daddy long legs

leokimvideo Ahoyhoy! I always search thoroughly if a spider is poisonous before killing it. I only kill black widow spiders and violin spiders. I think it is a sin to kill without reason. I admire that you are saving your kids playthings though. I cannot stand when folks destroy toys. so thank you kindly.
