    Sir, it is now common to widen roads to relieve congestion. Providing two lanes in each direction. I request you to please discuss the situation in your future video.

      relieving congestion is improving LOS, reducing conflict points is improving safety.

      Better to provide, but if you are providing, make sure movement is smooth. No raised curb or median.

    how would you reduce conflict points on a T ways intersection

    • @SatishIITR
      @SatishIITR  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      T intersections are simple to operate as there are fewer conflict pints than on a four way intersections. Channelization of turning movements is the best method of reducing conflict points.

    Sir, I have a doubt. You have drawn a two-way, two-lane traffic scenario, so there must be 24 conflict points, but you have written 32 conflict points. If the number of lanes on Road A is 2 and Road B is 4 (both roads are two-way), then the total conflict points are 32. I'm a little confused, sir.

    • @SatishIITR
      @SatishIITR  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Number of conflict points on an intersection made by two two-lane road is 32. Few teachers do not consider merging and diverging as conflict points and they teach 24 points only. But in traffic engineering merging and diverging are conflict points without requiring a gap.
