I don't think Remo is getting enough credit for his performances so far. He had to remind the press, that he too, is coming back from a serious injury. Hoping that they all return, fit and well, for next year's race

I think he has. It’s clear he has a stellar future and in any other lineup, he’d be killing it, as he does elsewhere. Though, right now, he isn’t as complete a rider as the other two.

I'm liking Remco more and more. He's very honest about his form and limitations. He's improving so much that I expect next year's tour to be very interesting - go Remco!

Remco can be proud of his performance in this years Tour. I’m sooo proud of him. I hope he “podiums” by the end of this year’s tour.
💯👊 the team should be elated by what he’s achieving. I’m sure they are.

Classy rider, very mature for his years & experience.
For me he's the stand out performance of Le Tour so far.
Keep going as you are Remco.

Cool to see Remco right up there even using slightly different tactics at times, you can really see his efforts too.

I really appreciate you guys uploading these press conferences. They are normally quite quiet, which means I have to turn up the audio. However whenever your outro starts playing, it‘s quite loud. Would you be able to quiet it down a bit, because I live in constant fear of the video ending, when I‘m listening with my headphones.

remko should definately be proud of how he rode this tour so far. he's been super consistent and always there

I always thought Remco could never win the Tour and that while he was a 99/100 TT guy and a 95/99 classics guy he would always struggle with the endurance demands of a Grand Tour. You can have that in the Vuelta or even the Giro and still win but the Tour is something else. I'm reconsidering that now on the basis of his performances here. I don't think he has the talent of a Pogi or Jonas but they are perhaps the best two grand tour riders of the last 30 or 40 years and his time still might come.

remco would easily win here if not for the two aliens. i wasnt sure if he was really the third best GC rider but he has very much proven it. he will certainly need to improve his climbing if he wants to beat pogi and jonas, but if theyre not present hes going to be the favourite now at a GT. i am also impressed by his team, particularly hirt and landa.

Il sera sur le podium. Il a l'intelligence de comprendre que les 2 autres sont intouchables cette année.
Il,a déjà gagné une belle étapr ( clm) er va assurer le podium.Donc, un premier Tour réussi.

All discussions of times up the climb don't factor the total number of strong riders in the main group and tactics/tempo. It's not like it was a time trial with no team help. You have so many strong riders, then you have Tadej/Jonas pacing each other up the climb.

    • @teddansonLA
      @teddansonLA หลายเดือนก่อน

I don't think that's true - the discussions do recognise the group dynamics too, but the point is the climb was incredibly fast - much faster than climbs we've seen recently. For example, even with fast, motivated groups arriving at the bottom of Alpe d'huez on modern equipment etc, Pantani's time has been very distant.

I guess he will be second. Vingegard could have worse difficulties after his accident and shortened preparation.

He used to be a pain in bum, but over the last 2 years he has really matured. He is riding very smart, he could still win. Pogi has had 3 near misses just avoiding big crashes, I hope he stays safe and wins, but it’s not over until they get to Nice. Meanwhile Remco rides on.

@@NAO-bq6ed Very well said! It is exactly so. If we had 3 TTs 50kms each in the Tour, he would probably win it.
