Once in a game, someone had Rhystic Studies an another player had Victory Chimes. The player with Victory Chimes gave us mana each turn to pay the 1 of the Rhystic studies.
You guys are buy far the most underrated TH-cam channel ever. You're content is always amazing and comes daily! Plus you made me realize that grave titan wasn't a zombie
I don't even know if underrated is the right word because seems like everyone who watches them likes them. Interesting enough I enjoy watching them so much more than produced and edited content like Mitch's commanders quarters. Mitch's monotone voice can often great on me. Don't get me wrong he's actually good at speaking and has good cadence and pacing, but I think I just watched so many of them that I got sick of that voice. Anyways unpopular is better to describe them than underrated to me at least.
"Share the spoils" from the planar portal commander precon is really fun too for plenty of reasons, it makes sure everyone hits their land drop and no one runs out of gas... at least in my experience in our casual group.
I've been watching for a few months now and I just wanted to say that you guys are my favorite channel on TH-cam. Always great insight on cards and I've become a better player because of this channel.
In my commander play group we love Monarchy so much we play with it every game, even if no cards bring it. Our rule is, the first player to do combat damage to another player become the Monarch.
Chaos warp is just phenomenal. Last time I cast it, my opponent flipped a desolation angel. Not sure why that card was even there tbh, but probably best chaos warp I'll ever get.
In my pod, one dudes reclamation sage was tibalt’s trickery’d, and then the card that was cast destroyed the enchantment that reclamation sage was going to destroy
My playgroup has a house rule that we ALWAYS play with the monarch! The crown starts in the middle of the table; the first player to deal combat damage to any player becomes the first monarch.
@@NitpickingNerds it seems to give red hasty decks an advantage and to some extent weakens blue decks, but we are ok with that because we all hate blue 😂
My straight burn deck had two things going for it that always made it fun. 1) Irencrag Feat showing up to make a big move or have one fat Stonecoil Serpent early in the game and 2) Wildfire Devils causing straight up chaos. Love the card.
I have had this personal promise that I made to myself and my playgroup years ago that if anyone ever chooses me for Fact or Fiction, I will always 5-0. It’s now my local game store’s favorite card to play and I still have not broken that pact.
"What SyFy show has ever been good?" Well, not to shill but if high quality, densely written and produced military-political thriller/crime noir/cosmic horror in a near-to-mid future hard(ish) sci-fi setting sounds like the sort of thing you'd be interested in watching 6 half-length seasons of, you've got time to catch up on the first 5 seasons of the SyFy/Amazon series The Expanse before the last season is released presumably late this year. I mean, you have to genuinely like complicated stories and hard sci-fi concepts, but if that's your thing, it's really, really good. Ironically, it was too good at what it is to have the mass appeal SyFy wanted, so they cut it loose for Amazon to finish.
Great episode! I have an Atris, Oracle of Half-Truths that is built entirely around Fact or Fiction type effects. I love it and it's pretty fun for the table.
Hell yeah! I made a similar comment before I scrolled down and saw yours. Atris is absolute gas! And so good with cards like Thassa Deep Dwelling. Although my build is cEDH, I really enjoy leaning into the "oracle" theme with cards like Thassa's Oracle, Demonic Consultation, Mirror of Fate, and Predict.
@@stormybaker4135 very cool! Nothing I own is near cEDH, but I respect you for that! I probably overuse the Fact or Fiction effect, but it's all in good fun. I also have that Thassa in mine!
"cEDH" is pretty much anything with Consultation-Thoracle in my area. Some other cool "oracle" themed cards that work in the deck are Divining Witch and Sensei's Divining Top. And of course Mirror of Fate & Thought Lash, which aren't usually considered "cEDH" cards--but I find them worthy in any deck with Thoracle.
Heartwood storyteller is one of my fave cards for the reasons yall love the monarchy. It's made games longer but more fun for anyone I've played with it out
Oh man, I just played a game where my friend had 3 copies of Chaos Warp on the stack but accidently targeted Scute Swarm to resolve last. Getting 2 lands of the top never felt so good!
My best Chaos Warp Moment was someone playing a chaos warp in response to a whip on one of my creatures, only to bring Avacyn onto the board, winning me the game. I was the next player in line and they were all tapped out.
I enjoy cards like Dream halls that completely warp the direction a game goes. Not something I'd want to see all the time but once in a while it can lead to fun and amusing games.
3:40, oooh I didn’t realize it said AN instead of THAT, what a difference words can make! 12:43, yes! Fact or Fiction is so freaking good, I love that the other pile goes into the graveyard, like if you have a reanimation spell in hand they can mess up and give you DOUBLE value.
Scheming symmetry and Chaos Warp definitely the best of these for fun to me... Hating on Syfy😮. Best show they ever made was Battlestar Galactica so awesome.
Victory Chimes is brutal in any deck that wants to play on your turn. My cEDH deck features one with Baral, but Killian or anyone else who else who wants to regularly interrupt is going to want these, especially if you can filter it into that second blue pip reliably.
In cedh i’ve chaos warp’d a Gitrog player’s frog and they hit an Ulamog, changes the pace of the game 100%. Definitely a very fun card to play, also I love making Geier Reach into a card that isn’t fun. It gets interesting with Nath or with Chains of Mes
Atris, Oracle of Half-Truths has a fun (and surprisingly powerful) ability. It's a bit like playing a mini Fact or Fiction with legs from the Command Zone.
Casual player alert : Monarch is so fun, that in my playgroup we play with it on the table. First blood gets you the monarch. Its the only way I found to get people interacting early in the game.
My favorite Card to play among friends is Bucknard's Everfull Purse. It pays you back for its cost or it gives you more. To me there's no downside and everyone has a chance to get more mana.
Me personally, I love playing against Possibility Storm. A guy had it in his Krark/ Sakashima deck and my God that game was mass chaos and it was so insanely fun. Still one of the most fun games of Magic I've ever played.
Personally I hate it because I don’t love chaos. But that might be because the one time I played against it I had no idea we were playing chaos so it kinda ruined it. If I had known it would’ve been fine though so I guess that’s a lesson
Field of ruin....remember its a forced shuffle! sweet combo with scheming symmetry! and everyone gets a land! the number of times ive managed to hose a vampiric tutor or enlightened tutor with it is hilariously high, sweet combo in my shadrix silverquill deck
I think quite a lot of Battlebond cards could be on this list, for example, Last One Standing. it's a budget, mana-efficient boardwipe that has the chaotic outcome possibility, works wonders every time for me though.
Real talk, I've always wanted to build a deck around Howling Mine and somehow exploiting the "As long as Howling Mine is untapped..." text. That and manabarbs would be hilarious to build around IMO.

Chaos warp i hate that card but i love it. I am not a fan of playing removal so allowing my opponent to get something new is very nice but it can be very scary if you give them a good card
