Always a pleasure to ride along with Billy. He's extremely busy but is always willing to show all of us the behind the scenes of how growing a crop is a lot of work.
I have been watching your channel now a few years. It's always a joy to hear conversions with Billy. He is down to earth and a "get er done" character if I've ever seen a feller. A true business gentleman. Thanks for the annual treat.
It’s a neat farm. I first visited it in 2000. Back then Billy was running a FORD 1156 on triple tires and the farm also had two JD 9400s and an 8970 on triples.
I’ve been around farmers my whole life doing dirt work. He is the first one that farms as many acres as him and still gets in his tractor and goes to the field. Usually they say they’re doing paperwork but when you go to get a check their desk watching tv.
Watching here in England, you know you're in for a great video when it's a Fendt 1167 with Billy (and his Chase Elliott cap), thanks Jason , Stay Safe.
Man a year in the life of Billy would be a master class in productivity that most world leaders should take to understand "you aint no better than anyone else on the team, get yo hands dirty bub!!!"
What a nice set up. Billy telling how it all works and then telling how it was without the technology. Hope he has a great crop and return on his investment.
Nice to see the boss of the operation out working. Where I work the boss micro manages and most of the time he's in the way! We are a 3000 acre operation and us employees have a certain connection that works for us. We pretty much tell the boss to go sit in his office and we get more done!
Back in the '60's we applied ammonia using big (42" or bigger) sweeps so we did our deep tillage at the same time. You didn't mention how nasty that stuff is on a hot day and you get a cab full of it. We also discovered it made some of the soils we had in Texas hard.
I used to apply ammonia with a toolbar and nurse tanks like Billy here in the 70s and 80s with a JD 7020. I also delivered ammonia from a depot in Ontario for a coop. The ammonia logistics infrastruture was always a bottleneck and farmers were always waiting when it was busy. I'm amazed he can get enough to keep him running through the day. How is the infrastructure there?
Hey Jason, it’s not too often when I see you doing the video at night. This is an interesting video and by the way you do a great job of interviewing people thanks for the video. Keep up the good work.
@@bigtractorpower that makes sense. May I suggest something do a little experiment get some night vision technology there will probably be some rare occasion as well. You use it but if you need to do you have it
Billy is a great farmer to talk with. He has farmed with everything from an Allis WD 45 with a mounted corn picker to a Ford 1156 on triples to this Fendt.
Jason do you ever get a chance to visit with Billy's brother Phillip? What role does Phillip take on, on the farm? Does Phillip run the business/office end of it, and Billy run the field operations/equipment end of it. I just never see Phillip in the videos, just courious? Awesome operation they have!
He likes the Fendt very much. We talk about his first year of use with it in the video. He really likes the Fendt. I don’t know if a Big Bud would fit in his families farming operation. They are moving away from wheels to tracks.
@@bigtractorpower oh my god, that's an unbeliebable area of arable land 😅. It's ca. 20% of our district area. Maybe I'm not too old to be adopted by such a big farmer 😁
Billy and his family own the farm. They own all of the equipment they use and they crop over 33,000 acres a year of corn, wheat and double crop soybeans. They also have 400 acres of tobacco and 250 acres of hay for their cattle.
This Fendt is produced in the USA. The engine comes from Germany and part of the technology was developed in Germany. Do you think that a European, Australian or South American farmer cares where his machine comes from? No, almost every farmer chooses the machines according to how they meet his needs. The world is globalized and John Deere, Case etc. are active worldwide. If every buyer was nationalistic, our manufacturers would not sell anything overseas. Please open up your mind. It's give and take worldwide.
Man I LOVE when you talk to Billy about everything that is going on and his thoughts. Please thank him for sharing so much of his time with us.

Fendt has good tractors. Powerful and smooth to operate.
Billy! what a great guy!
Billy is a great person to talk with about farming.
Fendt …. The better Challenger .😊 Nice Video ! Kind regards from Germany ( Black Forest)
The Fendt CVT transmission has been a big advancement for the Challenger MT800 design.
Shouldn't he be using PPE when changing out the tanks?
Great video. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪
Hi. Thank you for watching from Ireland. Very cool.
That's one busy cab!
Definitely allot of screens.
Fendt has the best lighting on there tractors.
They have a great set up for sure.

Those fendt tractors are nice, our gleaner dealer is also a dealer for fendt too.
That is awesome!
Gleaner and fendt are both owned by AGCO so makes sense

Curious if billy still loves his fendt ?
Any chance billy will try out the new big buds ?
Why would he waste his time with big bud? They’re a joke. They won’t even be building 10 a year if that.
Didn't he give you the answer? He loves the transmisson, the power and the fuel effiency. This is enough answer for me.
He likes the Fendt very much. We talk about his first year of use with it in the video. He really likes the Fendt. I don’t know if a Big Bud would fit in his families farming operation. They are moving away from wheels to tracks.
How many Lbs/ac are they running? Great video… love the interview… great job BTP.

Foreign Equipment Not Deere Tough Enough. Jk, I think most of the new model tractors are equipped nearly the same . Truly colorblind in ability.

Such a shame agco is getting rid of challenger
Not really
As of 2022 you could order this 1167 as a Challenger MT867. I hope to get an 867 filmed this year.
