Aw seeing you all eat dinner was so sweet 🫶🥰
Your dinner looks delicious! I love your family eating around the little table! Frannie can see what is going on.❤❤❤❤
She’s going to be joining us sooo soon I can’t believe it 😍
My suggestion is to put Floyd to bed first.
And...although difficult without hot water is the routine I had for my kids that really worked.
They would have a "bednight" snack usually fruit or vegetable plate with a small meat sandwich, like a small second dinner. Then a bath, brush their teeth, read a story, get tucked in with kisses, and lights out and to sleep. The same every day. The bath seemed to completely calm them, and they played and had fun in the bath.
When I had a baby and toddler sharing a room, I always put the toddler down first, then spent quiet time with baby, final feed, and laid in bed, otherwise they would keep each other awake.
I have a 4 year old and a 1 year old. Ever since the youngest was born, I sit in the bed and nurse her to sleep while my husband lays down beside the 4 year old. Without my husband helping I know it would be twice as hard because the 4 year old will actively fight sleep but having his daddy there to firmly enforce that he needs to lay down and not keep talking really makes a difference.
Chad used to stay up there with me but it made things worse because he was constantly telling Floyd to stop and lay down and that would wake up Franny. This was is more quiet if it’s just me. But it does feel like it takes forever
@thathippiefamily Oh yeah I totally get that. Bedtime can be tricky and no matter what you do, you just go through rough patches I think.
❤❤ it's hard
Oh how I can relate. I have 2 girls, 2.5yrs and 8 months. We were going so well feeding the little one and the bigger one would lay on my outstretched hand. But right now the 2.5yo is doing what Floyd is doing too. The frustration is high. Doing it alone is so hard. We will have fond memories of this in the future but for now, it’s just so hard.
Yesss! Thank you for sharing. I feel less crazy knowing I’m not the only one 🤪
Also I wish I had a tip or a trick but sadly I have not figured it out myself and she is my 5th. All my others were so good when it came to sleeping
Ashley, I agree with some of the others, that maybe getting Floyd down first might work. But, I'm not there, and you are.
Frannie is getting so big! I think I've watched all of your videos, since she was born, but boy does she look like she's grown. Besides, time's flying.❤️
Using a kettle to boil some hot water is a life saver for when you need it. 💕🫶
My daughter went through this, I had to sit with her FOREVER and rub her back telling her to lay still and shut her eyes. Then she stopped napping AHhhhhhh, now she LOVES going to bed ; )
Omg thank you for saying that hahaha! I needed to hear that. That’s exactly what I do with Floyd. I tell him constantly close your eyes stop moving take deep breaths 😅 I’m not alone LOL
Hey Hippie Family! TFS this video. For the past 2 months I have been extremely sick. I really don't have much to say about anything anymore. I'm sorry about that ok. I'll just send lots of Love and Blessings to your family ok. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜☮
I’m sending you healing vibes 💖 Thank you for the love and support!
@@thathippiefamily Thank you so much
So I'm curious what kind of gluten free flour you've settled on? I am gluten free too and find myself using oat flour a lot, but it is a little 'gloopy' for some things. It's just so naturally sticky. But man, does it ever make good pancakes! I blend it with old fashoned rolled oats, hemp hearts, flax seed meal, sunflower seed meal, and a bit of corn flour and IMO are even better than wheat flour pancakes. Is Floyd still taking daytime naps? I found that forgoing the daytime nap (or at the very least shortening it) went a long way toward an easier bedtime. It's sooo frustrating when that routine that was working perfectly for you suddenly doesn't any more.
I use bobs red mill 1 to 1 gluten free flour and it’s just easy. Almost all the recipes I make with it taste very similar to regular flour. But I agree I actually use oat flour for pancakes! Also secretly happy you are gluten free as well 😉 Feel free to send me your favourite recipes!
@@thathippiefamily That's funny because I was a little happy to learn you were gluten free too. 🤣 I do eat gluten from time to time but there's always a price, the first one being a super puffy face when I wake up the next morning. The stuff just does not agree with me! I'm going to pick up a bag of the BRM and see how my body reacts. I have one of those bodies that seems to be allergic/sensitive to the entire world! 😖
You really need to put him to bed first and in his own bed!
Give him a stuff animal
He had a ton of them but he doesn’t seem to care for them. He is very attached to his blankie though and I find that helpful!
I’m so with you on the sleep issues
My 2 year old has always had sleep issues. No matter what time she goes to bed she wants to get up between 3-5am to party then wants to go back to bed at 9am
It’s so draining
🫶🏼 it won’t last forever I tell myself daily
